During the Ming Dynasty, the Emperor of China possessed one weapon greater than all others, the Imperial Guards, an elite force of assassins recruited from street orphans. Trained in clandestine combat from childhood, the Imperial Guards were masters of the 14 Blades, eight being for torture, five for killing, and the last blade reserved for suicide when a mission failed. Above the law, with a license to kill, the Imperial Guards devoted their lives and lethal prowess to the service of the Emperor alone.

When the Imperial Court is taken over by evil eunuch Jia, the best of the Imperial Guards, Green Dragon (Yen) and Xuanwu, are assigned to steal a list identifying those still loyal to the Emperor. However unbeknownst to Green Dragon, the Imperial Guards have fallen under the control of Jia, and during the mission Green Dragon is betrayed by Xuanwu and barely escapes with his life. Now as the most wanted man in the land Green Dragon must seek out and rally the loyalists to rise against Jia and restore the Emperor to power. In his way are the deadliest assassins in the land, his former brethren, the Imperial Guards.

My Comments: I was at home throughout the day today and nothing to do on a public holiday. So I would like to say thanks to my brother Alan who borrow me a DVD movie to watch at least to kill off my time today since Kimmy is working today. He borrowed me 14 Blades and the movie was overall good. Donnie Yen and Kate Tsui did very impressive in this movie as their chracteristics was very dynamic and tough. This movie is actually based on the old chinese times during the Ming Dynasty. This movie includes everything you want including action, thriller, love story and sad scenes which gives its audience mixed feelings while watching this movie. A great combination of artists makes this movie pretty good and entertaining as well with the martial arts shown by Donnie Yen, Wu Chun and Kate Tsui. If you like martial arts, this is the movie you've been waiting for and I bet you will love it from the start till the end. The storyline meanwhile was good and kind of difficult to understand as well in the start but it started to picking up during the half way of the movie. If you haven't watch it, get yourself an original DVD and watch it as I would totally recommend to you. MY RATING: 5/5
