Gadget Review: Black Magic Plug Power

Welcome back to yet another edition of another gadget review. Today we are going to give you an overall review on the automotive parts where Black Magic Plug Power was born. What is Black Magic Plug Power? Its a plug & play device on the plug cable/plug coil wires to improve current flow by filtering noise from the wires/cable. Must try to believe what it can do! Easy to install on bike or cars. This device purposes is to filter off high frequency from the cable before going into the plug coil and then to the plug for much cleaner and powerful spark. It enhance the pick up power and acceleration. Plug and play. Easy to remove, no cutting of wires. Guaranteed improved performance or money back. Gadget Review: Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE

Welcome back to ye another edition of Gadget Review. Today we bring you an exclusive review on the brand new Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE Version. This phone claimed to be one of the best Android devices around and some said it had eventually beaten the Apple Iphone5 in terms of hardware specification. Here we bring you the summary of the Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE.

Outlook

The Samsung Galaxy S4 outlook is pretty good and it has a 5 inch screen with HD Super Amoled Screen. The screen is very big and huge and it's suitable for me as well. But the plastic build feel at the back of the phone that covers the phone does not sounds nice but at least you can change your battery very easily. The outlook of every Samsung phones are the same and there's no changes at all. I would rate this overall as satisfied. RATING: 4/5

Operating System

The Operating System that this phone uses is actually the latest Android Jelly Bean Version 4.2.2. It has a powerful interface with great features installed. It's almost the same as the previous Android Operating System but this OS gives is more stable that the old ones and it claimed to be faster as well. In Samsung, they have developed a very smooth touch screen on top of the operating system itself. Great job. RATING: 5/5 

Camera

This phone has a build in 13 Mega Pixels, 4128 x 3096 pixels, autofocus and LED flash. The best part is it has the Dual Shot, Simultaneous HD video and image recording, geo-tagging, touch focus, face and smile detection, image stabilization & HDR. For video is has a 1080p@30fps, dual-video recording as well. The pictures taken is very nice and great indeed especially in bright place but it acts slightly poorer in the darker area with or without flash. The video recording is great that can produce the 1080p quality. RATING: 4/5

Processor

Best! This is the word I want to say about the Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE. It's equipped with chipset

Qualcomm APQ8064T Snapdragon 600 and the GPU would be Quad-core 1.9 GHz Krait 300. It's one of the fastest so far on the market and no one can beat Samsung right now. You can feel the smoothness of the phone with no lagging. The sensitivity touch also improved tremendously and can compete with Apple devices. Simply Great! RATING: 5/5  SIM Card & Network Performance The Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE and non LTE both using the Micro Sim card and not the old conventional standard SIM Card size anymore. You can get it at all major telcos in Malaysia. Since I'm using Maxis, it's 4G coverage area is pretty limited but once I get covered, I can get speeds up to 10-30 Mbps which is 5 times faster than the normal HSDPA or HSDPA+ signal. I would say Maxis 4G is up to my expectations and work greatly with this phone. So far, only Maxis offers the 4G services to its customers with the 4G phone as well. The reason is the costs of upgrading the 4G towers are pretty expensive and then now less people using it too. MY RATING: 5/5 Overall, the Samsung Galaxy S4 is my choice with lots of great features installed on the Operating System. The most notable features includes the Smart stay, Smart pause, Smart scroll & Air gestures. Smart Pause acts when you are watching a Youtube video and then once your eye move somewhere else, it will pause until your eye watch the video again and it resumes. Smart Scroll enables you to point at the segment you want to view and it pops out on the screen and lastly the Air Gestures allows you to scroll your photos without touching the screen. All you need to do is just to wave your hand and it will flip by itself. These are some great features that this phones has and it's very useful as well. Gadget Review: Portawifi Device

Welcome back to yet another edition of Gadget review and today we would like to introduce to you the brand new Portawifi device. What is Portawifi? Porta + Wifi = Portable Wifi is something to do with Wifi on the go. Whether you're on your car, home or everywhere, you can get connected with internet. How it works? Here we explain to you.

 Portawifi device is a device that I am currently using now where I can get WIFI access at home, outside or at the car itself. The size of the modem is similar like the USB Modem but then it's slightly heavier and then bulkier. The additional advantage of this modem is actually it also acts as WIFI and can support up to 5 devices on the go at one time. You can now plug the USB modem into your laptop for your personal usage and in the same time it can share the connection as well. If you're in the car, just plug the USB modem into the cigarette socket and then it powers on by itself and get connected within seconds. Last but not least, if you are at home, you can also WIFI your home by plugging into the power socket and it works like a charm. Please be informed that this PortaWIFI modem only can detect within a 10 meter range only. If you're above10 meters from the product, then you will experience lost connection.

Besides that, you can also plug the USB Modem into a power bank and bring wherever you go and in the same time you can go online anywhere and anytime too. Look how technology changes things and this USB modem is not heavy though and can be brought anywhere for convenience as well. You can sign up with Celcom or Maxis as both of these providers provide the Portawifi Modem (connection up to 21Mbps) with contracts. Alternatively, you can log on to Lelong Website (http://www.lelong.com.my) to look up for some unlocked portawifi device where you buy the device separately and then good thing is that you can use whatever service provider you want. The price is between RM150 - RM170. I think the price is acceptable based on the technology it provides and most importantly it can connect anywhere too with just a tiny device. In my case, I've bought the unlocked portawifi from Lelong and assigned U Mobile into it and it works like a charm too. This applies if you do not want to tie to any contract and free to change provider anytime you want.

Gadget Review: Mipow Power Tube 4000

Welcome back to yet another edition of Gadget Review and this topic is something new that have been introduced on alexleow-kimmy.com. Besides the review of Food, Travel & News, Gadget Review is one of the new topic that will enhance your knowledge in getting the specific products of your choice. It will not be a comprehensive review but at least some tips, do or don't whether to buy this products or not and in the same time the recommendations as well.

This time around, I will be introducing the Mipow Power Tube 4000. What is power tube? Now in this modern world, smartphone or tablets had eventually outclassed the older model of phone or laptop devices and as you can see, the more advance technology we have, the more power it will consume and that is why the power tube is created to ensure that you can charge you phone or tablet on the go without needing to find a power socket to plug it into. Since I am using this Mipow Power Tube 4000, I will be introducing this product to you and I hope it will benefit you.

There's different types of Power Tube from Mipow ranging from different storage of power such at 2200mah, 2600mah, 3000mah, 4000mah until 5500mah. On top of that, there are many colours to choose from depending on your favourite colour as well such as Red, Blue,Black, White, Grey, Pink, Gold and so on. Of course the more power can be stored, the more expensive it will be. This time around I will be introducing the 4000mah where you can eventually charge 2 times of your iPhone from 0% to 100% (rough estimation). For tablet like iPad it can only charge 1 time because iPad consumes more power. This is a great product as this power tube is very light and eventually easy to carry everywhere and you can even put into your bag with little space used. It's just like a candy bar (same size like Mentos candy). You can charge up to 500 times in a single charge from 0% to 100%. There are various colours to determine the status or level of the battery. Blue indicates that your battery level is between 80% to 100%, Green Indicates 40% to 79% while Orange indicates from 20% to 39%. The red level indicates from 0% to 19% and it will flash when it turns nearly to 0%. Once the power tube has finish the storage, it will turned off and no more colour.

The price of this product is quite expensive but I found out that the quality of this product is superb and nice. It costs around RM130 - RM170 depending on your power range. I would strongly recommend you to get this power tube as I found it very reliable and it's value for money too. Do not worry about power leakage as this is a brand that was certified by Apple and you can get it at your nearest Apple Stores or Authorize Dealers as well near you. Enjoy! MY RATING: 5/5

Gadget Review: Apple iPad Mini

My Review: This is one of the best iPad device that I've ever used before and I would say that it suits my daily needs. This iPad is not too big nor too small and with the 7.9 inches (physical size), it's one of the best device that I've used it before. Many had been saying about its non existence of the Retina Display but for me it's just nothing. Retina or not, it just not in my requirements and I am happy user of the iPad mini. If you ever owned an Apple products before especially the iPhone or iPod, the interface is just as same as it is before and just only some of the features which is different (also depending on the iOS version). What I like about this iPad mini is because of its size and some of the fantastic features on this iPad mini. What impress me is actually the fast WiFi where I am able to surf the web or stream videos faster and in the same time this device have the LTE (Long Term Evolution) connection for Cellular. The size also obviously smaller than the previous iPad. The specs is almost similar to the iPad 2 but it has an improved camera (5 megapixels) and WiFi. The camera has a Back-illuminated sensor (BSI), Auto focus, Touch to focus, Digital image stabilization and Geo tagging. Many had said that the downside of this device is actually the Retina Display which they only use the normal IPS LCD function only. It really depends on your needs but as I said earlier, I felt that the screen is now good although is a IPS LCD and it's good enough.

I have been using iPhone 4 together with the iPad mini and it's a great combination especially when you're on the go and it's really convenient to carry and the iPad mini is not heavy though. If you plan buy a new iPad for yourself, I would strongly recommend you to take the new iPad mini as it has all the features it has for other iPad series and it's very light and easy to carry. For those with existing iPad, you may opt to take this iPad mini as the previous iPad is quite heavy and it's not so convenient to bring around. A lovely gadget for iPad beginners and those who love on the go. My recommendation on the iPad Mini casing would be a brand from Mocran where the casing is nice and trendy looking as well.
