Lifestyle: My Birthday Cake Celebration

First & Formost I would like to dedicate this post to the family of Kimmy as their parents really give me a big shock when I was presented a birthday cake upon my arrival at their house and I look very happy with this occasion.

I receive a chocolate cake from Kimmy's mother and the whole family and I was very happy! I had a wonderful time celebrating my birthday and I would like to extend my gratitude to them. Overall, the cake bought was tasty and I love the taste although I had a great dinner sponsored by Kimmy and I am very full. I love the photos posted on the website and the best is I manage to take photos with Kimmy's baby named BIBI. Check out the photos and for the full photos review, please visit our Facebook!

P/S: I would like to extend my heartiest thanks to Yan Chong CS and Cheah Chee Hoh for celebrating with me as well as I got the 2nd cake from them as well a day after my birthday. Many thanks to both of you as well although it's a belated birthday! Thanks!

Food Hunt: Bel Pasto Italian Restaurant, Desa Aman Puri, Kepong (Part 2)

Dear All,

Welcome back to yet another edition of Food Hunt and today it's my birthday. A special thanks to Kimmy for spending me the meal and of course the venue of the dining place is also decided by her as well. It looks like she's a very good food planner as well. Haha! Well, we have chosen Bel Pasto Italian Restaurant situated at Desa Aman Puri in Kepong. This is my 2nd time visiting this restaurant as for the first time, I have blogged before in my previous post. Please refer to here http://www.alexleow-kimmy.com/2010/05/food-hunt-bel-pasto-italian-restaurant.html.

We arrived at the restaurant at about 8.30pm and it was less crowd because it's a weekday (Wednesday). Once we sat down, we were immediately served with the menu and it took us about 5 minutes to decide what to eat and drink. The choices of the food are pretty much and I am sure this is the good restaurant for you to try it on. Based on my past experience a year ago, this restaurant gives me 4/5 rating and today I've come to try again to see whether any significant improvement on their food. We're lucky also as the restaurant owner (Italian Guy) take our orders and he looks awesome!

We've ordered mushroom soup (RM6.80) as the starter. Then we did ordered a plate of Branzino Linguine Pasta (RM17.90) which consists of fish cutlet added with some pieces of green chilli. We've also ordered a plate of pizza and we have chosen Hawaiian Pizza (RM15.50) as our choice and it's consists of Ham, Cheese & pineapple sprinkled with Basil leaves. We've also ordered the Tiramisu Cake (RM 8.90) as our desserts. For drinks, I've ordered the Ice Lemon Tea (RM3.50) while Kimmy ordered Ice Peach Tea (RM3.50). Overall, the portion of food are really big and it's value for money. We shared the food between both of us as we did not ordered the set for ourselves.

Let's kick off with the comments on these food that we've ordered today. Firstly, the mushroom soups taste really awesome and great. It was really nice compared to last time I've tried here last year. If you add the cheese flakes into the mushroom soup, it tastes more awesome and you will feel like you're in heaven. It was superb and wonderful. About the Branzino Linguine Pasta, it was nice but slightly salty. The tastes still look pretty good and acceptable as both of us still enjoying it as well. The Hawaiian Pizza was yet another great food to eat. It simply tastes awesome and fantastic. The pizza slice are thin and crunchy while the ingredients used are not stingy at all and you can really feel the greatness of enjoying the pizza. It was really nice until I really praise the restaurant owner upon the arrival of the bill.

For the Tiramisu Cake, this is also another set of nice food that you must order when you come here. When I try it, it was awesome and very tasty. It melts down your mouth pretty quickly and you can taste the chocolate melting inside your mouth. It was 3-4 layers of chocolate until you manage to taste the pudina taste at the end of the layer. I really do not know how to describe it but by looking at the photos, it says it all. AWESOME!!!!!! For the drinks, it was nice and nothing special to brag about as it was just a normal Ice Lemon or Peach tea. It's not too sweet and it's just nice to drink. The bill came and it costs us about RM61.71 including service charge and for me and Kimmy, we are was very satisfied with the food we order tonight and of course it was recommended by the chef as stated at the menu as well. There's no government tax charged while dine in here. Lastly, I would highly recommend you to come over and try out the restaurant over here and you will simply love it. During weekdays, they did provide set lunch as low as RM9.90++ and it was well worth it too. Enjoy the food and you will definitely going home happy! MY RATING: 5/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 5/5 ; HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

* Food & Drinks Rating are based on the food & drinks we've ordered and not overall food & drinks.

Food Hunt: Chic King, Tropicana City Mall

Dear All,

Welcome back to yet another edition of the Food Hunt. Today ME & Kimmy were at Tropicana City Mall to catch a movie and after that of course have dinner around the mall. Since we have not try Chic King before and so we had decided to try it out. We reached the restaurant at about 7.00pm and there are still less crowd. Overall, the crowd isn't that much and it looks like it was not very well known to others.

Once we stepped inside the restaurant, we briefly looked at the menu and it took us about 3 minutes to finish looking at them. Finally we've decided to ask what's the specialties over here and they introduce to us what is special about the food over here. For your information, the food here served is almost similar to KFC. I've ordered Dinner Meal ( 3 pieces of chicken spicy + Mash Potato + Coleslaw) while Kimmy ordered Value Meal (1 Chicken spicy & 2 chicken strips Spicy + Rice (Kimmy changed to Mash Potato)). For drinks, we've ordered 1 Mountain Dew carbonated drink.

Let's go straight to the food comments. Overall, the taste of Chic King and KFC has its own difference taste. For Chic King, I felt that the taste is slightly poorer than KFC but it is much more crispier than KFC. Also in the same time, KFC had a bigger portion compared to Chic King where the size of the chicken is pretty small. But I did really enjoy the crunchiness of Chic King chicken and then it has less oil compared to KFC. This restaurant is originally from United Arab Emirates (UAE) and they had opened their branch here. The dinner meal costs me about RM10.80 while the Value Meal costs me about RM8.50. For drinks, we are charged RM2.80 for a large drink while RM1.80 for a small drink. The price is pretty similar to KFC. I would recommend you to try it out and you judge yourself. I would say different people will have different taste and it's subject to your comments. The total bill came is RM22.10 and there's no government service tax or service charge being charged into this bill. You just pay what you eat and order only. Enjoy! MY RATING: 4/5; KIMMY RATING: 4/5

* Food & Drinks Rating are based on the food & drinks we've ordered and not overall Food & Drinks.

Cast: Brandon Routh, Sam Huntington, Peter Stormare

With the help of Marcus Adams (Huntington), his un-dead assistant, he will have to preserve the sake of the Earth.

__________________________________________________________

My Comments: This movie is based on the novel books and it talks about vampires, zombies and monsters. It's a combination of these 3 creatures that lives on earth fighting among themselves to regain power. This movie has its similarity as Vampire Suck movie. Overall, this movie is rated B class movie but in my opinion, although it was a B rated movie, this movie still processed good storyline and action as well. Beside all these, the jokes are really laughable as well. I watched this movie at GSC Tropicana City Mall as I have a free complimentary ticket in conjunction with my birthday. With the stars of Brandon Routh, his character says it all on this movie and his acting was very cool and good too. I've got many critics on this movie but when I watched it, it was otherwise and I found it watchable and pretty interesting as well. I would still recommend you to watch this movie while it's still shown on the cinema and you will totally not regret watching it. Don't believe the critics and do see it on your own eyes! MY RATING: 4/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 4/5

Event: Fullhouse Event For Jackcow Members, Sunway Giza

Dear All,

Today marks the first post for me in conjunction with an event jointly organized by Fullhouse and Jackcow at Sunway Giza. I was invited to the event because I bought their coupons from Jackcow website and I am entitled for the event tickets. At the event, we were treated with a free lunch buffet and of course take photos with Jackcow to stand a chance to win an Ipad.

ME & Kimmy reached there at around 12.30pm and the crowd started to build up as the event runs from 12.00pm till 3.00pm. We did manage to take some photos with the Fullhouse icon members which consists of dad, mother, sister and brother. Unfortunately we did not manage to take pictures with Jackcow because it's too crowded and many of them took photos with them as well. It was a great event and party as about 500 guests turned up at this event. It was a remarkable evening for us but we are slightly dissapointed with the food served as some food were too salty as well. In the meantime, with the large crowd, we are unable to get to try out some food as it's finish fast and we need to wait for about 15 minutes for another round of food being served on the table. The food that we've missed including the speghetti, french fries and fried popiah.

We can see many of them are quite dissapointed with the food served but we can't blame the organizers as well because they need time to prepare the food as it was snapped up within minutes after it was served. I can see some people took a big portion of the food which makes the food finish fast after a couple of people. Overall, it was a splendid job done by Fullhouse & Jackcow and I am looking forward for these kind of events in mere future where I can go and witness their great event. You can visit http://www.fullhousecafe.com.my or http://www.jackcow.com for more information. You can actually view part of the photos over my blog and for the full photos that are taken today, you are advised to check out my Facebook for more information as well.

Lifestyle: Wondermedia 7" Apad/Epad Netpad 9

Dear All,

I came across this product and it was an imitation and was made at China. This is similar to the Samsung Galaxy Tab and it looks interesting. I receive this item via SkyNet and I was pretty amazed by the packaging as well. Once I open the packaging, the device looks pretty promising.

Overall, the specification of this Netpad 9 was pretty impressive as well as it supports the Real Android Market as well. The most disappointing features on this PC tablet would be the camera as it only supports up to 1.3 Megapixels. Other than that by taking a look at its specification below, it looks pretty impressive. After getting my new baby, it was not as impressive as it seems. In the same time, I have to admit that since it's a RM400 product compared to those above RM1000 branded Tablet PC, there's nothing special to brag about.

The PC Tablet was pretty lagging and the responsiveness of this product was very lacked of. You need to press the device harder in order to get into the application and it really does not impress me much. The loading of the browser and the games was very slow indeed and I bet you need to be patient while waiting for it to load. The sound quality meanwhile was normal and not as bad as it seems. The Operating System used is the Real Google Android 2.2 Froyo.

If you are looking for a real budget PC tablet, this tablet PC is suitable for you but as I said earlier, do not expect the quality to be much better as you pay for what you get. But still an affordable phone with great features used in developing of this Tablet PC. If you would like to purchase this Tablet PC, I would recommend you to go http://www.comfortsurf.com and purchase it online with the price of RM379.00 per set and I think is pretty affordable. It also comes with a 1 year factory warranty but excludes shipping charges. The delivery is pretty fast as well. Enjoy! MY RATING: 3/5

_______________________________________________________

My Comments: Welcome back to yet another edition of the movie review and today, ME & Kimmy are at 1 Utama for some windows shopping and in the same time to catch a movie as well. We have selected Super 8 as our movie choice of the week and we watched it at GSC 1 Utama. This movie has its own class but it depends on how you review the movie. This movie is pretty similar to those movies full of mystery and it's up to you for the final guessing added by some really hilarious jokes as well. Steven Spielberg had produced a good movie I suppose but still that does not impress me much. In the beginning of this movie, it was a bit bored until the real flick starts after some 20 minutes later. It was a thrilled movie and I have to give good marks for this movie. In the first place, we do not know what causes the havoc until we manage to saw it an hour later. The action continues right till the end of the movie and the plot as well as the storyline can be considered good but not the best. I would recommend you to watch this movie as it will not disappointing you but don't expect that this movie would produce magic nor too good to watch. Enjoy! MY RATING: 4/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 3.5/5

Food Hunt: QBean, 1 Utama Shopping Complex

Dear All,

Welcome back to yet another edition of the Food Hunt and this week, ME & Kimmy had decided to go 1 Utama Shopping Complex for some windows shopping and of course to go for the Food Hunt once again. We've discovered this restaurant on the web and would like to try it out. I've bought this coupon on a promotional rate and without any hesitation, we've like to try it out. Introducing QBean Restaurant and this restaurant serves the best 100% made soy bean in town and it's nice.

Disgruntled serfs planning to poison their masters with a cocktail of tofu and strawberries were dismayed to find their concoction frozen in the refrigerator, and consumed as delectable ice cream. Soy boys infuse the frigid beauty of ice cream with lactose intolerant tofu, to give birth to premium soy ice cream available with strawberry, chocolate, Oreo or peanut toppings. Milked daily from the freshest bean curd bovines imported directly from Canada, ice cream is formulated from a secret in-house recipe designed to entice unbound desserters to leave a life of savoury servitude. Free of preservatives, colouring, thickeners, flavouring and cow milk, this high protein, low fat dessert is an ideal substitute to dairy cousins. Whether for dine-in or take away, customers are advised to consume ice cream immediately to avoid bundles of soy making friends with shuffling shoes. Qbean offers a range of other soy products such as flavoured soy milk (RM3.90) and ice-blended drinks (from RM8.90).

We've tried the Ice Cream with toppings and we've selected Oreo and Peanut toppings as our choice. The other 2 choices available would be Strawberry or Chocolate (RM4.50 per cup). I would say the Ice-Cream portion is really big and it's value for money as well. It's definitely enough to share among the couples. The taste was simply amazing as you can really taste the soy bean and it was great. Both Orea and Peanut toppings has it's own uniqueness and I would say it's very good. For the price of RM4.50 (no service or government tax imposed), I guess it's still worth it and you will enjoy it. I would STRONGLY recommend you to try this out despite the portion and most importantly the taste of the ice-cream which gives both of us total satisfaction till the maximum. Enjoy! MY RATING: 5/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 5/5
