My Comments: This is a sequel of I Love Hong Kong 2011 and this year's comedy is almost the same as in the year 2011 but this time with slightly less artistes participate in this movie. But I received a lot of bad comments towards this movie and some says this movie is boring and fall asleep in the cinema. I go to watch it and I would like to prove the critics wrong. Actually after all of this comments, I had a bad feeling and do not put high expectations towards this movie and just watch for fun. After the movie started from the starting till the end, it was a rather exciting and entertaining movie to watch. With the stars of Eric Tsang, Teresa Mo, Bosco Wong and Denise Ho, this characters would make you laugh all the way and there's tons of jokes towards this movie and it promises its audiences with fun and joy during this festive season. I would say this movie had a lot of scenes and it's quite complicated in the first place until it combines all together after half of the movie shown and then you will understand more. It talks about a family where the quarrel due to lots of circumstances and then at the end of the movie, the would reunite to a Happy Family with a good understanding and joy. It's a great family movie to watch for all walks of life. Totally recommended movie. Enjoy! MY RATING: 5/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 5/5

My Comments: First of all, I would like to wish all of you a Happy Chinese New Year, Gong Xi Fa Cai! On Saturday, ME & Kimmy had visited TGV Metro Prima, Kepong to catch the most anticipated Chinese New Year movie of all time and this movie is one of my favourite movie to watch as I have watch it so many times at television. It's Ah Beng The Movie: 3 Wishes. We had dinner at Jusco Metro Prima and after that proceed to watch this movie.

I have high expectations on this movie and it does not dissapoints me as well. Furthermore, this movie is being supported by our Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak. At their normal series, the jokes and stories were pretty meaningful and the jokes and pretty decent as well. At this movie, it was the same either and it combines a series of jokes and some touching as well as sad scenes. This story talks about a guy (Gan Jiang Han) whose the God Of Fortune granted his 3 wishes and can he change the fate of the whole family? This story talks about this and it has a little sci-fiction in there as well. You will also find this movie slightly not logic and it can go back to the future to change things. This is the first Malaysian movie who had this kind of story and it was pretty special as well. With the casts of Jack Lim, Gan Mei Yan, Royce Tan, Bernard, Ah Yoke and many more, this movie sets to be yet another interesting Chinese New Year Blockbuster. The funny Jack Lim continues to deliver about his jokes and his character while the new Gan Jiang Han has a very good acting skills as well and I would say he almost grab the limelight against Jack Lim in this movie. It was a great family movie to watch and usher the incoming new year in style. I would recommend you and your family to go and watch this movie if you have not as it's worth of every penny you spend. Enjoy! MY RATING: 5/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 5/5

Festival: Chinese New Year Reunion Dinner

Hello All,

Upon arrival of the Year Of Dragon, today is the day to gather together as a family to enjoy our Reunion Dinner before we usher the first day Of Chinese New Year. Reunion Dinner is the most important event for all of us to be remembered no matter where you are because it's symbolizes the traditional event where no matter what, we have to gather together to eat, laugh and enjoy to show respect to everyone in our family.

There are many ways of preparing the Reunion Dinner. The normal and traditional way of preparing is of course preparing a lot of dishes like Fish, Prawns, Meat, Pork but some would prefer Steamboat style. For ME, I am going for steamboat this year like previous year. My mom will usually cook the traditional way in previous years but these 3 years, it had been different.

No matter what you eat, it's still the reunion dinner that should not be missed. If you are driving home for Reunion Dinner, remember to drive safely on the road and for those who already reached home and reading my BLOG now, enjoy your precious and wonderful time with your family. alexleow-kimmy.com would like to wish the Chinese Community a Happy Chinese New Year, "Gong Xi Fa Cai", 新年快樂.

Food Hunt: Bar BQ Plaza, Jusco Metro Prima, Kepong

Welcome back to yet another edition of Food Hunt and today ME & Kimmy had decided to try out Bar BQ Plaza located at Jusco Metro Prima in Kepong. We reach the restaurant at about 7.00pm and we have start to queue up to look for a place to sit. As usual, this restaurant is at a brisk business especially during the weekends. We had a great time waiting and we both are anticipating the dinner and we just can't wait for it. We are lucky enough today as we do not wait very long and after 10 minutes wait, we finally got our seat.

Since the restaurant is full, we have waited for like 10 minutes for the food to be served and then during the queue, we have ordered and decided what to order as we take a quick look at the menu and we made a fast decision on what to order. We have ordered the Deluxe Supreme Set (RM38.90) which contains lots of ingredients including beef, Udon Mee, Mini Prawns, Mushrooms, Chicken, Vegetables, Fish Balls and many more. It comes with a 2 white rice set and you have an option to upgrade to Garlic Rice for an additional RM1.50 per bowl. Please see pictures. For drinks I've ordered the Ice Green Tea (RM2.50) while Kimmy ordered the Chrysanthemum Tea (RM2.50).

Actually there are some steps to follow at Bar B.Q. Plaza to ensure your meal is as good as it could be. I am not going to elaborate since they have a leaflet with the detailed instructions. But the first step is always to oil the hot plate with cubes of lard. Yes, LARD! Then, clear chicken broth is poured at the side of the pan, which is for boiling the cabbage and other vegetables. So when the frying is in process, the flavors from the meats will not go to waste because all of them would end up in the simmering broth. Some condiments provided for the barbecue are garlic, lime, cili padi and a bowl of their home-made vegetarian sauce, made mainly of peanut butter. I was skeptical again when I saw this. What? No chili sauce for dipping? Peanut butter? You must be kidding me, how can!? And again I was wrong.. the vegetarian sauce, prepared and shipped all the way from Thailand was the perfect condiment to complement the barbecued meat. Simply tasty and appetizing. The meats are fresh and from what I heard, the pork is sourced from Euro Deli so the quality is very much assured.

Now we come to the taste of it. Overall, the taste was acceptable and the most important thing is the sauce. I love the sauce where it was sweet and nice and it suits my taste mainly because I mixed the garlic and cili padi together with their home-made vegetarian sauce. Another reason I love their sauce is because it's made of peanut butter as well. Something really special that I never try before and it's my first time. The garlic rice that we've ordered is very tasty and the fragrance of the rice is simply fantastic. For Kimmy, the sauce does not suits her and she say it's not nice. I guess the sauce here is kinda subjective. Overall, Kimmy said that the meal does not suits her as the only thing she loves is the freshness of the meat else all looks normal and the sauce does not suit here as well. She said she won't be coming back to Bar BQ Plaza to eat again. But for me, I love the sauce and the food there as well. For the chrysanthemum tea that Kimmy ordered, it was nice to drink as it was refreshing and the Ice Green Tea I've ordered is nice and refreshing as well. The Ice Green Tea is refillable.

The price meanwhile is not too expensive as it seems as for the set of RM38.90, you can get to eat beef and chicken at a very big portion as well. Also it comes with a rice. I can see this restaurant had become a top choice not only for youngsters but also for families as well. The food served here is fresh and the portion is big as well. I would recommend you to come over to any of the Bar BQ Plaza branch in the Klang Valley and not just only Jusco Metro Prima only to try out their BBQ Steamboat and I bet you will love it. Enjoy! MY RATING: 4/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 2/5

Leisure: Berjaya Times Square Chinese New Year Decorations 2012

Hello folks,

Welcome back to the final destination of the Chinese New Year Decorations at shopping malls and we have chosen Berjaya Times Square as our last stop. The decorations at Berjaya Times Square is very simple but still it has it tradition for the incoming Lunar New Year. The theme for this year would be "Spring Blossoms" and in front of the main entrance of Berjaya Times Square, lies a big blossom tree that can be seen.

As I said earlier, the decorations are pretty simple and it still can keep it's tradition. I can feel the warmth of the celebrations. Surrounding the trees is some stalls selling Chinese New Year products that can can be used at various occasion. I would still recommend you to visit Berjaya Times Square not only because of its decorations but also its varieties for shopping for this festive season. Last but not least, I will conclude the Malls Rating for the Chinese New Year Decorations 2012 below. Enjoy! MALL DECORATIONS: 3/5

Food Hunt: Very Thai Nudle Cafe & Restaurant, Berjaya Times Square

Dear All,

Welcome back to yet another edition of Food Hunt and today ME & Kimmy had visited Berjaya Times Square and we've decided to have our lunch there despite skipping dinner because it will be crowded since Chinese New Year is drawing near. We have a tough time choosing which restaurant to visit but in the end, we have chosen Very Thai Restaurant located at Lower Ground Floor of Berjaya Times Square as I think we wanted to try out the Thai Food despite I am still sick. We reached the restaurant at around 1.00pm and the crowd is still pretty less in the restaurant since it's already lunch break.

We sat down and were immediately served with the menu. We browse through the menu and then we found out that the variety of food here is pretty less and the price is pretty expensive as well with the ambience of the restaurant is not so attractive. Without any choices, ME & Kimmy had taken about 5 minutes to select which food we wanted to eat and I've ordered Pineapple Fried Rice (RM13.90) and KImmy ordered Phad Thai with Prawn Wrapped (RM13.90). For drinks, both of us ordered Distilled Water (RM0.50 each and it's refillable) only as the drinks are very expensive here ranging from RM3-RM10 including Coke which sells at RM8.00 and it's totally not worth it.

The meal does not take very long to reach as we only have to wait for about 10 minutes before it arrived. The Pineapple Fried Rice is very nice indeed. It was very delicious and it was out of my expectations again. The portion of the fried rice is pretty small actually because of the size of the pineapple but the ingredients given is a lot such as cashew nuts, chicken floss, raisins and the fried rice and with all these ingredients mix together makes the fried rice really nice. Kimmy tried and she loves the tastes too. For Kimmy's Phad Thai with Prawn wrapped, it was just nice and not so delicious as expected. The mee used also pretty sticky and not so nice. Phad Thai is a Thai style Char Kuey Teow for those who do not know what is this dish.

The bill came and it costs us about RM33.40 for just 2 main course and 2 plain water. The price is super expensive and not recommended to come over here if you do not have the budget. For the price and the portion of the Phad Thai and the Pineapple Fried Rice, it's pretty less and it's not worth the price we pay for but I wanted you to take note that the Pineapple Fried Rice is a must try if happens you want to come over here to try it out. I think some people willing to spend as long as the food is nice don't you? Enjoy! MY RATING: 5/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 3/5
