Gathering & Food Hunt: Restaurant Look Up Point, Langat Hill

Finally our gang had a most memorable and wonderful time up there at the Restaurant Look Up Point at Langat Hill. And in the same time today is Halloween Day. It was organized by me and it was a wonderful and successful turnout this time. A total of 12 persons turned up at the gathering inclusing ME, Kimmy, Chai, Kevin, Teo, Sai Kit, Li Yong & Stanley, Yen Nee & Keong as well as Yen Peng and Yen Sim. Haven't met for almost 4 months, of course we had lots to chat and we had a wonderful time chatting, enjoying the beautiful view of Kuala Lumpur and wonderful time eating as well.

We reach the Langat Hill pretty late because of traffic jam at MRR2 as we have booked the table at 7.00pm. We reach there around 7.30pm and the seats were all taken up by the crowd as there's so many people in the restaurant already enjoying their meal. Luckily the boss reserved the seat for us and we managed to get our seats on time but have to wait about 10 mins before we all get seated. After looking at the menu, there are so many varieties to choose from and we ordered our food and drinks accordingly.

As for me & Kimmy, I've ordered BBQ Sizzling Steak and a glass fo Ice Lemon Tea (see pictures). Meanwhile Kimmy ordered Black Pepper Sizzling Chicken and a glass of HOT SOYA (see pictures). For my dish it was kind of tasty and above average taste. The Ice Lemon Tea is just nice and nothing special about it. According to Kimmy, she told alexleow-kimmy.com that the Black Pepper Sizling Chicken was very nice indeed and above average. But unfortunately, the HOT SOYA doesn't seems to be nice at all because it's too sweet for her. Besides, we also ordered mushroom soup with a bread and the taste was just average and not so nice. The price of the mushroom soup is very expensive and we are charged RM8.30 per servings. Not recommended to order a mushroom soup. After finishing our main course, we did ordered Ice Cream as our dessert. The 3 scoop of ice-cream was very nice indeed and we ate Strawberry and Yam flavour. Overall, the food was above average and not bad. Worth a try. MY RATING: 3.5 / 5; KIMMY RATING: 3/5.

For other people, I've interviewed some of my friends including Yen Sim, Yen Peng, Yen Nee and Chai, they have different views of the food. Yen Sim told alexleow-kimmy.com that the food was nice and the drinks has too small portion and it's average only. Yen Peng told alexleow-kimmy.com also that the food is above average and she don't have much comment on the drinks because she's having a bad sore throat and she only drank hot lemon tea only. For Chai who ordered the same main course as mine, he said the food was above average as well and the drinks was simply brilliant. Finally Yen Nee told me that the food was average and the drinks was average as well. Kindly see the photos on what they've ordered.

The price overall was kinda reasonable and per average serving price (for steaks, chicken chops, pasta etc.) between RM10.00 to RM20.00 per plate. Besides, you get to enjoy the wonderful view of Kuala Lumpur and you won't regret for paying that. But still, I read from many blogs who critics about their food and after trying the restaurant, I feel it's not bad through and it's mostly above average food. The waiter service was OK too and no complaints about that. Only thing you need to be careful is that since that was near to the forest and trees, you will see some flies or some insects flying around or even dropped at your meal as well. Please take note of that too. Overall, the bill came and it's about RM350.00 (including tax) for 12 persons and I think it's reasonable. Average per person is about RM30.00 and it's not expensive at all.

Before we left the place, we did take some photos at the restaurant and its surroundings there. Since it rained earlier in the evening, it was so cooling and I could see a thick mist from the place and this makes the place even much cooler. We did not go up to the look up point tower because majority of them doesn't want to walk up but if you guys have a chance, do go up there and you can enjoy the beautiful view of the hearts of Kuala Lumpur. Hope all of you who attended this gathering will have an enjoyable time up there and had a great remembrance towards this gathering. See you guys in our next gathering which is coming pretty soon! Thanks & Bon Voyage! :)

Lifestyle: Liverpool Purse

Money is an essential thing that we need to have in life so that we can pay for anything that we wanted to purchase or owned it. So in everyday part of life, we must keep money for our survival. But how can we keep money to bring along or to prevent or minimize the high rate of robbery cases. Well, of course we must have a purse. Besides keeping money, you can also keep credit cards, charge cards, name cards or many other important cards in the purse. For me, thanks to my beloved darling, she gave me a purse as a birthday present and I am so happy to own that purse because it's my all time favourite as it has a LIVERPOOL logo in it as it is also my favourite team as well.

This is indeed a very unique design and I love it so much. With this purse, I can bring along and proudly to show that I am a loyal Liverpool supporter. Haha! You can have it too. These purse were all over the malls or supermarkets where you can actually get it in those small stores or souvenirs shops with various football teams not only Liverpool but including Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal etc. Enjoy! :) RATING: 5/5

Food Hunt: Nando's Sunway Pyramid

Good evening folks,

Welcome back to the next edition of food hunt on a lovely Sunday evening. This time, me and Kimmy had decided to go Sing Karaoke at AMP Square Karaoke at Sunway Pyramid. After singing Karaoke, we have decided to go for dinner. We sang from 3.30pm till 6.30pm under the Happy Hour session.

After thinking and giving suggestion among ourselves, we have deiced to go for Nando's in Sunway Pyramid. Once we reach the restaurant, we were serve by the friendly waiter and waitress and we had a wonderful time there. We reach there around 7.00pm and the crowd had started to pack the place already. Once we sat on, the waiter brought us the menu. Since I have ate Nando's before, so I just see the menu and did not waited much until I ask the waiter to take order for our food.

I've ordered 1/4 of Chicken (grilled into perfection) with 2 servings (coleslaw & Nando Chips) (See pictures below) while Kimmy ordered the same menu except different servings (she ordered Nando's Corn and Nando Chips) (see pictures below). For water, we've just ordered a bottle of mineral water while we share among the both of us because we had enough of juice and carbonated water when we were singing karaoke just now. FYI, if you ordered Coke, you can refill anytime.

Let's go straight to the food ratings. The 1/4 chicken was fantastic and you can eat together with 4 added sauce / flavours provided by Nandos. The 4 flavours / sauce including Nando Garlic, Hot Peri-Peri, Extra Hot Peri-Peri & Mild Peri Peri. The flavours / sauce that I've taken is Extra Hot Peri-Peri and Kimmy took the Hot Peri-Peri and she told alexleow-kimmy.com that the chicken was fantasic and awesome. Besides the coleslaw, corn and the Nando Chips was also fantastic and nice. The price was quite reasonable through and the bill came costs us about RM38.00 (after tax). The 1/4 chicken costs about RM14.90 per plate and the mineral water (per bottle) costs about RM3.90 and can be shared by 2 persons. We had an enjoyable time there while the food was totally awesome. It's worth a million try and I can guarantee you that you won't get bored with the taste of the chicken which MUST EAT with the sauce / flavours. MY RATING: 5/5 ; KIMMY RATING 5/5

My Comments: After so many years, basically I think the 2010 budget doesn't really benefits to the rakyat except those who are paying taxes. It focuses more into our personal income tax portion where the rakyat need not to pay more tax. Other than that, I don't see any benefits that could spur the rakyat and the economy. For education portion, the federal government will also help but sponsoring or subsdising the funds for those scoring good grades in their exams. Other also including some fund allocation to different sectors and this would also benefits those sectors I guess. When you talking about 1 Malaysia Budget, by right it should spur more good news to the rakyat and help their burden. What about for those who are not paying taxes? Any good news for them as well? I don't see any good news for them too. Overall, it was a moderate budget and we shall see whether the budget announced would spur the economy or not?

Food Hunt: Nong & Jimmy BBQ Seafood Restaurant (Part 1)

Hello folks,

Welcome back to a lovely Sunday evening here. After watching movie & shopping at Tropicana City, Me & Kimmy have decided to go have BBQ Seafood restaurant at Kuala Lumpur. Not only that, to try these BBQ Seafood, we need another companion so that we can try out more dishes. So, I have invited my brother Alan Leow to join us for this food hunt trip. After watching movie, I go and pick my brother up and we are ready to go to Taman Cahaya located near Ampang, Kuala Lumpur. While we are travelling, we are looking forward to the food over there as 3 of us are very excited to try out the food there. We knew that we could not try out all the food there on 1 day so we decided to go there for the 2nd time again later. So this topic would be named as Part 1. We reach the Nong & Jimmy BBQ Seafood Restaurant at about 6.45pm. Then it was so packed with people already and yet, the people are still coming in numbers. I would say very good business.

Once we are there, we straightly find a suitable and good place to sit and of course I would look for places with a fan because it would be very hot while we are dining the food. Why? This is because it's a wooden house typed restaurant and the food served there would be spicy and hot. So be prepared when you are going there to eat. The service there was good and once we sat down, the waiter will come and ask us of what food to eat. Unfortunately, they don't provide you with a menu and you need to do some research before you go OR ask them for recommendation of what food is nice there. For me, I've done some research before I go and I have ordered Tom Yum Gung in claypot (for 2 persons), spinach with sambal belacan, Grilled Stingray and Grilled Sotong (see pictures). Kimmy ordered hot herbal tea while Alan ordered cold herbal tea. I've ordered 100-Plus because I know I will be very thristy later due to the spicyness of the food and to quench the thrist, I've ordered 100-Plus.

The food came and 3 of us are very satisfied with the food served. Let's go straight to the comments of the food. The Tom Yum Gung was pretty impressive because of the taste. It was pretty spicy and sour and well balanced so if you loved this, then I would guarantee you will say nice to this tom yum gung. The spinach with the sambal belacan was very nice and a little spicy as well. Nothing special about it and the chef cooks this dish very delicious as well. For the grilled part, the grilled stingray was pretty impressive. It was covered with the curry powder at the top and the flesh of the stingray; while eating with the chilli sauce (sweet & sour as well) served will add the juiciness and tastiness of the fish as well. Finally the grilled sotong, was pretty plained in its decoration BUT don't look down into it. The grilled squid was very nice as the squid is very soft and easy to bite. You can smell the fragrance of BBQ flavour and when you chew at your mouth, it was an easy and pleasant dish to take as well. The 3 of us was very impressive by the food there and we vow to come back for the 2nd time again.

Last but not least is the price. It was in my surprise when the bill came to me. For the 4 dishes that we've ordered only costs about RM49.70. and the portion was average and suitable for 3 people to dine. Besides, it also includes drinks as well as 5 bowl of rice (2 added bowl of rice) and NO TAX being charged for this one. It was unexpectably cheap and I wonder the crab and fish over there would be cheap as well? Stay tuned for out Part 2 coming later when we visit the restaurant again later. If you guys opted for cheap and reasonable food as well as the food is nice, Nong & Jimmy is the place definately to be and remeber to come a bit earlier (between 6.00pm to 7.00pm on weekeends) because the parking there is very limited. Even those paid parking (RM2) also will be full and then you will have difficulties of finding a parking space. Before ending this posting, I would also recommend you to try other seafood that I've not tried today including grilled crabs, The Thai style steamed fish & Thai deep fried crullers with pandan kaya as I heard this both dishes are very delicious as well. You may ask the waiter for recommendation and assistance as well. Aights, enjoy yourself! :) MY RATING: 5/5; KIMMY RATING: 5/5; ALAN RATING: 4/5

My Comments: Today is Sunday and of course yet another brand new day. Yesterday we watch Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs movie at GSC 1 Utama and today we've decided to go to yet another movie marathon. We have chosen GSC Tropicana City as our destination this time as long time we had never been there already. We have also chosen Surrogates as our movie as we failed to watch this movie last weekend. The movie Surrogates talkes about how humans control the robots. Humans have 100% access to control the robots and only can be control the robots when they are sleeping and using their brains to control the robots. This is something pretty interesting and new and that makes the story pretty good and catchy at times. Bruce Willis cast in this movie as FBI agent also did a pretty good job but I would have say there are less action from this lad. Not only that, the whole movie also lacking of action that should have been more great and interesting. It will be a good Vs bad guy once again in this movie and it also uses quite a number of computer technology which makes this movie kinda alive and kicking. Overall, the storyline was great and the plot was pretty good as well but only 1 thing I would like to critic are actually lacking of actions overall in this movie and it should have been more. MY RATING: 4/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 4.5/5

Food Hunt: Restaurant Teppanyaki, 1 Utama

It was a lovely Saturday evening where me & Kimmy went to watch movie. After watching the movie, once again we are at 1 Utama and we go for yet another edition of food hunt, This time, we've decided to go to Restaurant Teppanyaki to take our dinner. It was recommended by Kimmy and both of us went in and try it.

The restaurant atmosphere was simple and your seat will be like a kitchen alike seat where you will be be surrounding the chef cooking over there. The chef will cook in between the tables and after the food ready, will be distributed among the customers by the waiter or waitress over there (see pictures). After looking at the menu, me & Kimmy had decided to go on Chicken Teppanyaki and 1 glass of Green Tea each for us. The price was pretty reasonable as well and it only costs about RM9.90 per plate and RM0.90 for the Green Tea (Refillable). The Chicken Teppanyaki was served with a plate of rice, bean sprout, cabbage and of course chicken meat (see pictures). The portion is kinda big and the taste was nice. You can even eat it with the chilli sauce or soya sauced served on the table. I've tried it and which ever suites your taste, go for it because it will be very delicious as well.

For Kimmy, she told alexleow-kimmy.com that the Chicken Teppanyaki was just average only this time. She said previously she had once and the food is far more better than this time. For me, it's my first time there though. She said previosuly she tried in Mid Valley and the taste is far much more better than in 1 Utama. The bill came and it's RM22.90 (plus tax) and for me, I feel that the price is pretty much reasonable to try and I recommend you to go and try it and you will know how it tastes like. Have an enjoyable weekend folks! :)

My Comments: It was yet another outings for us on the Deepavali day. We've decided to go for movies and 1 Utama would be our choices again since it's near to our place. Me & Kimmy arrived at GSC 1 Utama around 2.30pm while the movie starts at 3.00pm. Let's go straight to the comments of this movie. Since this is a cartoon typed movie, the animation of this movie is perfect and the storyline sounds more like a family chronology and it's filled with good jokes as well. It was a simple and understandable movie as usual as it not only cater for the adults but also for the kids as well. You can actually guess what's happening while you are following the sequence of this movie and there's no shocking or guessing on what's happening. It's a very clear cut movie and this movie looks more into like a "The Day After Tomorrow" movie except it was replaced by various food only (you need to watch this to get what I mean). If you are looking for something to laugh, this is truly a recommended movie for you and the storyline was well developed as well as the graphics was amazing. Full marks for this movie. Food Hunt: Domino's Pizza, Carrefour Subang Jaya

Hello folks,

We are back again for the next edition of the food hunt. This time we are into Domino's Pizza. It's a Thursday evening whilst me and Alan haven't decided what to eat for dinner. Then we have discussed with each other on the car and finally my brother suggested that we go for Domino's Pizza. Only several restaurants in the Klang Valley that has offer dine-in service because mostly they are doing delivery service. So, in our area, the nearest Domino's Restaurant should be at Carrefour in Subang Jaya.

We started out journey from Kelana Jaya at about 7.45pm and reach there about 8.10pm where there is no traffic jam. When we reach the restaurant, there are very less people enjoying the pizza's there because many of them prefer to dine at home because the delivery service is FREE. But let me tell you, if you dine-in the restaurant, you will get cheaper price and get to eat more food compared to the delivery method. Without wasting any more time, me & Alan looking at the dine-in menu and of course there are not many choices to choose from. Only 4 sets are pretty attractive to me as it's suitable for us as well. Finally me have made a decision where we took the SET B package which also called as Indulgence Set. This set comprises of 1 Regular Pizza, 3 pieces of Garlic Twisty Bread, 1 Garden Salad & 4 pieces of BBQ chicken satay sticks (please see pictures). This set costs RM30.00 and it's not including drinks yet. Me & Alan have ordered Coke and it costs RM1.80 per glass each. The bill came and it costs about RM38.00 after tax. Per person costs us about RM19.00 per pax.

It's not so expensive because we get to enjoy more food with the amount money u paid for. After the meal we are very full and satisfied with the amount of food that we consume and now here's the review of the food. The pizza was just normal but a lil bit dissapointing as it's not as good as the pizza in Mid Valley branch. So far, I will rate Mid Valley the best as the pizza are more tastier than the pizza that we eat in this Domino's pizza outlet. We've ordered the Aloha Chicken and from my past experience, this pizza is nice and delicious to eat but today it was pretty dissapointed as it seems. I would say different branch had the different pizza taste. About the side orders such as Garden Salad, BBQ chicken satay sticks and the garlic twisty bread, it was good and tasty and I can give high marks on this one. Among the best is the BBQ Chicken Satay sticks where it's the most delicious among all.

Meanwhile, my brother Alan told alexleow-kimmy.com that the pizza was just normal and nothing special. This is his first time trying out Domino's Pizza and nothing can convince him this time. Bout the side orders, he said it's very nice and better than the pizza of course and the best side orders, he would pick the BBQ Chicken Satay sticks as well. If you guys would like to try out Domino's Pizza, I would not recommend you the branch in Subang jaya Carrefour and I would recommend you to go Mid Valley branch for more better and tastier pizzas. For the side orders, it would be the same for all branches. Enjoy! MY RATING: Pizza: 3/5; Side Orders: 5/5. ALAN RATING: Pizza: 3/5; Side Orders: 4/5
