Dear All,

Welcome back and today I am going to introduce to you yet another new place to hang around and this place is situated at Puchong area. It's called the Setia Walk and the Setia Walk Mall.

Setia Walk is a great concept by the developer where it features an open air concept where patrons can walk along the shops which is surrounded by a man-made pool and there's a lot of shops that you can visit and mainly food and beverages occupied these shop lots. It was hot during afternoon but then it will be pretty cooling especially at night or after rain. To name a few, a few famous Food & Beverages restaurant are found there including Starbucks, Nando's, Kenny Rogers, Sushi Tei, Wong Kok Char Chan Teng and many more.

We are pretty impressed by the concept of the walk and the mall itself which give its patrons a lot of choices to choose for. I would recommend you to visit the walk and the mall and I am sure you will love it. Food Hunt: My Elephant Thai Restaurant, Aman Suria, Petaling Jaya, Selangor

Dear All,

Welcome back to yet another edition of Food Hunt. Today ME & Kimmy planned to spend a relax and enjoying weekend and first of all we also would like to ensure that our lunch would be something nice and favorable. We kicked off our lunch break with a luxury meal which is the My Elephant Thai Restaurant situated at Aman Suria, Petaling Jaya. We reached the restaurant at about 2.00pm and the restaurant is less crowded because it's going to closed for business at 2.30pm for lunch break. We sat down and then we were shown for the menu and this is what we've ordered.

1.) MyElephant Seafood Tom Yam (Super Spicy) (RM20.00) (2 pax)
2.) Green Curry Chicken (RM19.00) (2 pax)
3.) Belacan Paku Vegetables (RM15.00) (2 pax)
4.) Iced Water X2 (RM1.00 each)
5.) Brown Rice (Per Bowl) (RM3.00) ; Add-On Rice (RM3.00) (Per Bowl)

Ice Water with Lemon (RM1.00)
We the food did not take very long to arrive and let's go straight to the food reviews. The reason why we are here is because many bloggers recommended this restaurant for their good food and the good service is totally true and worth to try. The MyElephant Seafood Tom Yam (Super Spicy) is nice and it has a very different taste from other Thai Restaurant that I've ever tried. The fragrance of the Tom Yam came from the heavy presence of the Basil Leaves and then followed by the spicy flavor. It's pretty spicy and it's wonderful. The Green Curry Chicken is also a must try at My Elephant. The green curry gravy is nice and tasty. The Chicken is fresh and nice to chew too. Meanwhile the Belacan Paku Vegetables is also a must try at this restaurant where it's tasty and it's fried with Belacan. Last but not least is the Brown Rice which it came as per bowl. The brown rice is a healthy rice and you should try it. If it's not enough then you can add on another bowl for another round of charge.

MyElephant Seafood Tom Yum (RM20.00)
Green Curry Chicken (RM19.00)
Brown Rice (RM3.00)
Paku Vegetables (RM15.00)
Overall the price we pay is a premium price of RM67.10 plus a 10% Service Charge. The portion of the food is really small for 2 pax and it's very expensive indeed. But once in a while, it's worth a try because the food is nice. I would still strongly recommend you to come over here to try out the food and I will ensure you will have a wonderful lunch or dinner here. Enjoy! MY RATING: 5/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 5/5

Food Hunt: Kakatoo Cafe, Ativo Plaza, Bandar Sri Damansara, Kuala Lumpur

Hello All,

Welcome back to yet another edition of Food Hunt where today ME & Kimmy had visited the newly opened Ativo Plaza at Bandar Sri Damansara and in the same time to visit the plaza over there. To my surprise, there are lots of Food & Beverages outlet located at the Plaza and as usual we could see a lot of common F&B outlets including Subway, Kenny Rogers, Tokyo Kitchen and many more. Today we will leave all these and would try out something special and we have visited this cafe called Kakatoo Cafe. It's a parrot themed cafe and the environment is cozy and comfortable for us to dine in. We reached the cafe at about 8.30pm and it's crowded but there's still place for us to sit down. This restaurant serves local, Nyonya and Western cuisine as well. This is what we've ordered:

1.) Nyonya Fried Rice + Otak-Otak (RM12.90)
2.) Smoked Duck Olio Spaghetti (RM15.90)
3.) Honey Lemon Ice (RM5.90)
4.) Apple Kasturi (RM6.90)

The food arrived pretty fast and we do not need to wait for a very long time. The Apple Kasturi is a must try at the cafe. It's apple mixed with a sour plum and it's a perfect combination as well. It's not too sweet and the apple taste is simply great. Very recommended to order this drink. Meanwhile the Honey Lemon Ice is just normal and nothing to shout about.

Let's go to the food review. The Nyonya Fried Rice + Otak-Otak is a must try as well at the cafe. The rice is very nice with Nyonya taste and it comes with some side dishes such as Papadam, Egg, Otak-Otak, Salad & some sweet vegetables ("Ah Zat" in cantonese). The Otak-Otak portion is huge and tasty too and it's almost the same taste like the ones in Johor. Another very recommended food for you to order. The Smoke Duck Olio Spaghetti is also a must try when you are at the cafe. The Smoke Duck is tasty and smoked into perfection but the Spaghetti is also nice.

Smoked Duck Olio Spaghetti (RM15.90)
Nyonya Fried Rice + Otak-Otak (RM12.90)
Honey Lemon Ice (Left) (RM5.90) & Apple Kasturi (Right) (RM6.90)
The price we pay is around RM41.60 (includes a 10% Service Charge) and the price is slightly expensive but luckily the food do really satisfy us and we are happy with everything at the cafe. The portion of the food is above average and it does satisfy our taste buds too. I would strongly recommend you to come over to try out Kakatoo Cafe over here and hope you will enjoy the food as well. MY RATING: 5/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 5/5

Food Hunt: Restoran 3JC (三间庄), 1 Utama Shopping Centre, Petaling Jaya

Dear All,

Welcome back to yet another edition of Food Hunt where today ME & Kimmy had our lunch at 1 Utama and we would like to take something quick and light meal to satisfy our taste buds. We have chosen this restaurant 3JC (Sam Kan Chong) and it's famous for its pork ball noodle. We reach the restaurant at about 1.30pm and it was not crowded with a few seats occupied. We were then served and we browse through the menu and this is what we've ordered:

1.) Home Made Mee with Black Sauce Pork Ball Noodle (RM9.30)
2.) Normal Mee with Black Sauce Pork Ball Noodle (RM9.30)
3.) Herbal Tea (RM2.30)
4.) Pat Po Tea (RM4.00)

It does not take very long time for the food to arrive and since we are rushing, we then eat the food. It turns out to be a nightmare. The Home Made Mee and Normal Mee with Black Sauce Pork Ball Noodle is very poor indeed with tasteless black sauce and not only that the soup with pork ball is also tasteless. It was simply horrible! We taught that we would have a satisfy yet quick meal but everything turns into a real mess. The Herbal Tea and Pat Po Tea is acceptable but not the best.

Herbal Tea (RM2.30) & Pat Po Tea (RM4.00)
Home Made Mee with Black Sauce Pork Ball Noodle (RM9.30)
We have to pay RM27.40 (including a 10% Service Charge) for a premium price and yet the taste of the black sauce and soup was totally a letdown and I would never ever visit this restaurant again and I rate this restaurant a total failure. Do not spoil the famous name of Sam Kan Chong which is famous for its Pork Ball Noodles around the Klang Valley especially in Petaling Jaya. I would never ever recommend you to visit this restaurant although there are some branches in the Klang Valley including Low Yat Plaza, Sunway Pyramid, Taman Equine Jusco, Centro Klang and Klang Parade. MY RATING: 1/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 1/5

_____________________________________________________

My Comments: Finally another Marvel Comic movie has arrives and this time around it's Captain America is back in action with the latest flick called The Winter Soldier. This time around we can see Nick Fury in action which we seldom see him in other superheroes movies. This movie is as powerful as the first episode and you must watch the first episode in order to catch up with the this episode as it's linked together. The journey begins where someone try to take control over S.H.I.E.L.D and then to damage the whole world. Captain America's job is to stop them. The movie started off very slow and then started to pick up after 30 minutes later. The movie contains medium range of action but the storyline is very complicated if you missed the first episode as said earlier. If you understand these complications, then you will find this movie a perfect storyline that director Anthony Russo and John Russo has ever directed. Some say it's even better than the first installment. Overall, I would recommend you to watch this movie. Enjoy the movie! MY RATING: 5/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 5/5

Food Hunt: Lammeeya Restaurant, Damansara Utama, Petaling Jaya

Dear All,

Welcome back to yet another edition of Food Hunt. Today ME & Kimmy are preparing ourselves for our wedding coming soon. We shop for our wedding items and in the same time since we are nearby Damansara Utama, we have chosen to have our lunch there. Without any hesitation, we have chosen Lammeeya Restaurant as our lunch dining place. This is a franchise restaurant and you could see it in other locations as well. We stepped it into the restaurant at about 1.45pm and it was not crowded and still we manage to get a seat. Based on the restaurant name, we would have known that it's famous for its Lam Mee. We were then served immediately and we browse through the menu. There are quite a lot of choices to choose from ranging from noodles, rice, broth and other desserts as well.

We have ordered the following set lunch. Set lunch is available from noon to 3.00pm. It's worth the money as it contains the main course, some side dishes and free flow of Chinese tea.

1.) Set Original Lam Mee (RM16.80)
**2 Meat Ball & Foo Cheok
     **Free Flow Chinese Tea

2.) Set Lam Yee Mee (RM17.80)
**2 Meat Ball & Foo Cheok
     **Free Flow Chinese Tea

We do not wait till very long for the food to arrive. Let's go straight to the review of the food. The Set Original Lam Mee is just average. The broth of the mee tastes slightly salty and not much taste. There are much more nice Lam Mee out there that could beat this one. But the Meat Ball & Foo Cheok is nice and fresh too. Meanwhile for the Set Lam Yee Mee, the Yee Mee is nice but the broth tastes slightly salty and not much taste too. The portion of the both sets are above average and just nice to fill our stomach. Of course for drinks, we are satisfied with the Free Flow of Chinese Tea especially during hot season as we need to drink lots of water to kill the thirst.

Set Original Lam Mee (RM16.80)
Set Lam Yee Mee (RM17.80)
2 Meat Balls & Foo Cheok
The price we pay for a Lam Mee is at a premium price. I would say it's expensive to eat Lam Mee at RM16-17 per set where you can actually enjoy it at a much cheaper rate (at least 50%). The portion is above average and just nice for both of us. We have to pay RM38.06 including a 10% Service Charge. I would recommend you to come over to try the Lam Mee over here at last resort. I am sure they are others out there which are really awesome than this. Enjoy! MY RATING: 3/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 3/5
