Food Hunt: Restoran Thai Sabye-Sabye, Old Klang Road

Dear All,

Welcome back to yet another edition of Food Hunt and today ME and my family having dinner with our uncle & aunty and we had chosen this famous Thai Restaurant located at the hearts of Old Klang Road. It's situated at Lucky Plaza (next building to Pearl International Hotel).

As we stepped into Sabye-Sabye (which means - pleasant, good well), we were greeted by a friendly waitress clad in Thai Silk outfit, we were shown to our table. At the back portion of the restaurant, there are 3 compartments (opened, through) serving as private rooms of some sort. We reached there around 7.30pm and there are not much table being occupied considering today is weekday as not much people would like to dine outside and they rather cook themselves.

We ordered 6 dishes mainly the Tom Yam Seafood Soup (RM6 per pax), Fried Talapia Fish (Medium), Lemon Grass Chicken (Medium), Sizzling Beancurd (Medium), Kai Lan vegetables (Medium) & Belacan Squid (Small). The price range is slighly pricey with small ranging from RM10.00 - RM30.00 (medium to big portion). We had an enjoyable meal considering the dishes are all hot & spicy and we do enjoyed out dinner. Let's go to a short testimonial of the food we've ordered. The Tom Yam Seafood Soup is acceptable and it's lack of spiciness and sourness as well. Still it losses to those Thai Food restaurant located at Kepong. The Lemon Grass Chicken is nice as well as the Kai Lan Vegetables as well. The best comes from the dishes named Sizzling Beancurd as well as the Belacan Squid. Both of this dishes gave most of us the best appetite and we simply love this dishes as well. It's yummy!

The price meanwhile is quite pricey (total bill RM169.50 for 5 medium & 1 small dishes) and it's not so worth of dining in there. Of course, this restaurant price is slightly higher considering that our former national shuttle Rashid Sidek is the brand ambassador of this restaurant as well. I would still recommend you to come over and give a try and you gave your feedback's here. The food are average to slightly above average and I would say it's still OK to try it without any hesitation. The varieties of food ranging from Ala-carte dishes as well as set dishes like Thai Fried Rice etc. Enjoy! MY RATING: 4/5
