Food Hunt: La Teh Restaurant, Sri Sinar, Segambut

Dear All,

Welcome back to yet another edition of Food Hunt and tonight ME & Kimmy had decided to try on one of the most recommended restaurant in Sri Sinar, Segambut. Many had recommend me this restaurant but I have not go there once to try it until today where I merely spend my precious time there dining with Kimmy. It was a Nurturing Nanyang Legacy with Authentic Southeast Asia Cuisines. We reached the restaurant at about 8.00pm and the restaurant is not fully packed but there's quite a number of patrons who came to dine in the restaurant.

The ambiance of this restaurant is very nice and cozy and we simply love the design over there. We had a comfortably dining experience over there as it was fully air conditioned but you may have the option of sit outside the restaurant too. It was a quiet and peaceful area to dine in and you will simply love it. We sat down and immediately we were served with the menu and we are so impressed by the varieties of food being served at the restaurant. We sat and looked at the menu and to our surprise, it took us about 10 minutes to look at the menu and some time to decide what to dine in as there's a lot of special choices that we have not tried nor find in Malaysia and this restaurant has it all.

After looking at the menu I've ordered Nasi Ketuk with Tandoori Chicken (RM14.95) (Indonesian Meal) (Spicy) while Kimmy ordered Tom Yam Rice Noodle with Giant Prawn (RM18.95) (Thailand Meal) (Spicy). For drinks I've ordered Lemon Branch (Lychee, Lemon, Soda) (RM9.95) while Kimmy ordered Honey Dew Branch (Honey Dew, Celery, Mint Leave)(RM9.95). By looking at the price, you will it's expensive and it's certainly is but bear in mind that you could not find the food here in Malaysia and this restaurant has it all and I think the price is pretty reasonable.

Honey Dew Branch (Honey Dew, Celery, Mint Leave)

The Nasi Ketuk with Tandoori Chicken which is originally from Indonesia serves the best of the best that I've ever tried. It has a tandoori chicken served with sambal and salad sauce as well as spicy kangkung and onion papaya and the rice is blue in color. It was rather special and the most important thing is it's very spicy and the tandoori chicken was very nice as it's rich in aroma. For Kimmy's Tom Yam Rice Noodle with Giant Prawn originally from Thailand, this meal is rather special as it comes with 2 giant prawns and the prawns is rather delicious and fresh too. The taste of the Tom Yam is slightly sour with salty taste and the spicy taste had been very less. Overall, I don't really quite like the Tom Yam taste as well as Kimmy too and both of us love the Nasi Ketuk more than the Tom Yam Rice Noodle with Giant Prawn.

Lemon Branch (Lychee, Lemon, Soda)

For the drinks, the Lemon Branch (Lychee, Lemon, Soda) is very special and it was nice indeed. The portion of the drinks is really huge and with the price of almost RM10.00, I think it's reasonable too. It contains Lychee, Lemon and Soda all mixed up onto the drink and it tastes sour and it's very suitable for those who had tried on spicy food. I nearly could not finish the drink due to its large portion but still forced myself to finish it. For Kimmy's Honey Dew Branch (Honey Dew, Celery, Mint Leave), it was nice too. The Honey Dew fruit taste was very fresh and sweet too and it was pure juicy yet tasty. She loves the drink very much too. It contains Honey Dew, Celery and Mint that mixed onto the drink and it suits perfectly.

Overall, with the price of RM60.00 after including tax and service charge, we are very satisfied with the food although I claimed it to be slightly expensive but I am willing to pay for the food we get because rarely we can eat this kind of food in Malaysia. If for me, I am definitely coming back to La Teh Restaurant here but of course it's once in a while due to its price. I will never forget my wonderful experience with this restaurant as well as Kimmy too. Thanks La Teh for providing us a great food and some great introduction of Nurturing Nanyang Legacy with Authentic Southeast Asia Cuisines. Without talking too much, I am recommending all of you to come over to this restaurant to try out their special food over here and I bet you will love it. One dissapointing thing that I encounter regarding this restaurant is today I ordered the Thai Pad Thai (Fried Kuey Teow) but it's not available today as I wanted to try this dish as many bloggers claims that this is the best of the best kuey teow in town that hardly can find in Malaysia. I miss it! I vowed to come back for the second time to try out the Thai Pad Thai in mere future. Enjoy! MY RATING: 5/5 (PERFECT) ; KIMMY RATING: 5/5 (BEST)

Come on over to try the food as it was very recommended! Do come here to try out the Thai Pad Thai (Char Kuey Teow Thailand style) and Nasi Ketuk from Indonesia. Both are simply lovely! Price range from RM11.00 to RM16.00 :)
