Food Hunt: Ho Ho Steamboat Pulau Ketam, Bandar Manjarala Branch

Dear All,

Welcome back to yet another edition of Food Hunt and today ME & Kimmy had decided to try something new on steamboat. This is because we always tried the same couple of steamboat restaurants and today we would like to try out the new steamboat restaurant located at Bandar Manjarala here.

We reach Ho Ho Steamboat Restaurant at about 7.30pm and the crowd almost filled the restaurant but there's still places for us to sit. Thank god we came slightly earlier because once it reached 8.00pm, the crowd had filled inside the restaurant with no place to sit. Once seated, we were immediately served with the menu and without any hesitation, I've ordered 2 person steamboat set (RM16.50 per person) with a pot of Chinese Tea for 2 persons (RM1.50 per person). Then an additional RM0.60 will be charged if you used the cold towel provided by them and we did use it too.

The portion of the steamboat is pretty average and what I can say is the ingredients is pretty fresh as well. It has a lot of seafood ingredients and I had a great time enjoying my meal here as the portion is really satisfying although it's slightly average big. Now, the main thing is the soup. Basically, I would rate their soup is above average but still lose to several steamboat restaurant's I've tried previously including Happy City, Tai Tao, Desa Steamboat and Hao Jie Steamboat. The soup remains good but it still lacks something where the tom yum soup lacks of spiciness and sweetness while the normal 'Ching Tong' soup also not so tasty as Hao Jie and Desa Steamboat but still acceptable.

Overall, the price of the steamboat is standard and it wouldn't be expensive since it's a seafood steamboat with prawns, fish and many more. For RM16.50 per person, it's very reasonable and I guess it's affordable for all to dine in too. The bill came and the total is RM36.60 and it's still acceptable. I would still recommend you to come over to this restaurant to try out the steamboat over here. Enjoy! MY RATING: 4/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 4/5
