Welcome back to yet another edition of Food Hunt and today ME & Kimmy had dine in for lunch as we just finished our trip to KL Bird Park. We had an enjoyable time back there and now we wanted a great and satisfying lunch for both of us too. So, we have selected the Chicken Hot Pot as our choice.
This time around, we have visited the Taman Segar branch in Cheras and we have tried this restaurant (branch) located at SS2 Mall in Petaling Jaya previously. We reached the restaurant quite late around 2.00pm and there seems a few tables still being occupied. But overall, there's still a lot of table for us to choose from to sit at. Once we sat down, we were immediately served with the menu. We browse through the menu and finally we have selected the Chicken Hot Pot (Small) with Mild Spicy as well as 2 cups of Herbal Tea. It also comes with 2 white rice. This is apparently the Daily Value Set Lunch Sets A (RM20.90). There are plenty of sets available to choose from but only valid during lunch hour. It does not took very long for the food to arrive as we only waited for about 10 minutes. We have a great time enjoying our meal and guess what the Chicken Hot Pot (Small) with Mild Spicy is tasty and slighly better than the ones in SS2 Mall in Petaling Jaya. The sauce is pretty tasty and not watery and it's pretty dry too and the taste is preserved. I love the sauce over here and the spiciness of the hot pot chicken makes my appetite even wanted for more. It is very delicious. For the Herbal Tea, it was too sweet and not so impressive. You may asked the waiter or waitress for less sugar if you order the Herbal Tea.
Overall, for the set lunch, it's really worth it if you pay RM20.90 for a medium size hot pot chicken that comes with 2 rice and 2 herbal tea and only valid for set lunch. Also, it does not come with government or service tax. It was very worth it considering the chicken hot pot portion is really big and quite huge too and suitable for 2 persons to eat. I would recommend you to come over here to try out the Chicken Hot Pot as it was nice too. Remember, the set lunch is only available at Chicken Hot Pot Taman Segar branch in Cheras and not all outlets. Enjoy!
