Food Hunt: Sushi Q, 1 Utama Shopping Complex

Welcome back to yet another edition of Food Hunt and once again we are at 1 Utama Shopping Complex today for yet another shopping spree as the mega sales is back in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri Celebrations. The time is about 5.30pm and we walked passed Sushi Q restaurant and with our 'itchy mouth', we sat down and ordered sushi & sashimi to eat. That time the crowd was pretty less as it's not lunch, tea nor dinner time yet.

This restaurant is a self-service restaurant as we need to pick the sushi or sashimi ourselves. Besides they've also prepared the all in one sashimi and sushi box that comes with a green tea and miso soup for RM23.80. I can tell you that the portion of the sushi and sashimi is pretty less whilst if you pick up yourself at the counter (ala-carte), the sushi is much bigger than the ones inside the box (prepared earlier). I was dissapointed by the portion inside the box and I slammed the sushi and sashimi because of the portion and most importantly, the sushi & sashimi was just average where the rice is not so tasty but the sashimi is pretty fresh but the portion is too little. I read through some blogs previously and I found out they wrote good reviews on this restaurant but for me I find it totally dissapointed. The area was hot too where no air conditioned or fan available. One thing I must said about is about the miso soup where it's very tasty and I never taste so tasty before and credits must be given for their soup. Meanwhile, the green tea is a teabag based green tea and it was nice too once it was mixed with hot water.

I would say the green tea & miso soup is very nice accept the sushi & sashimi box which is pretty dissapointed. I would not recommend you to try out the sashimi & sushi box which is pretty expensive for the price we pay. But the ala-carte pick yourself sushi is not cheap either ranging from RM3-RM6 depends on size and type. I would say it's still expensive and I rather walk in to Sushi King or Sakae Sushi to taste a more better sushi. Based on the current environment, it's not good either as it was noisy if you are looking for a place for dating or chit chat and it's pretty HOT too. MY RATING: 3/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 3/5
