Food Hunt: Otak-Otak Place, 1 Utama Shopping Complex (Part 3)

Welcome back to yet another edition of Food Hunt and ME & Kimmy had our dinner here and it's our 2nd meal over here. We had decided to take something light as we just had sushi just now. Without any hesitation, we went to Otak-Otak Place to have our dinner and today both of us ordered noodle as our food. We reached the restaurant at about 8.00pm and there are not much crowd inside the restaurant and most of them are almost to leave the restaurant after finishing their meal.

We arrived there pretty late and the majority of the people there is mainly Malay where they just finished open fast. Without any hesitation, we looked at the menu and since we've ordered noodles only, we only took 2-3 minutes to select which noodle to choose. I've chosen Char Kuey Teow (RM7.90) while Kimmy have chosen Assam Laksa (RM7.90) as her choice of noodles. For drinks, we've ordered a Ramadan Promotion which is the Mango Fizz drink for RM1 (free flow) and both of us shared out the drinks.

It does not took very long for the food to arrive and we are satisfied by the service as well. The Assam Laksa was pretty good but there's a very strong fish taste on top of the soup and overall the soup and noodle is nice and acceptable. I've tried it too and I feel the same too. For my Char Kuey Teow, it was nice indeed. The taste is nice. For Kimmy's portion of Assam Laksa, it was pretty average to big portion while for my Char Kuey Teow, the portion is pretty small and not much ingredients that was given on the plate of Char Kuey Teow.

For the price of RM7.90, I guess the portion that we get is pretty similar to what we pay. I would not say it's pretty worth it but I was surprise because from the previous visits, the food was just average especially when you ordered rice. But if you ordered noodles, it was far better than rice so I assumed that the noodles here served is pretty much better than the rice sets. If you are here and would like to try out this restaurant, you may try out the noodles instead of the rice. The total bill came and it's about RM17.65 including 5% Service Charge. Enjoy!
