Travel: Ipoh Trip Day 1

Dear All,

Welcome back to yet another edition of alexleow-kimmy.com travel and today we are going to bring you to Ipoh to discover the great limestones as well as the food which is very popular here among the people of Ipoh. Although I came from Ipoh, I will still introduce to you some nice places of interest as well as some great food for your cravings as well.

Place Of Interest: Kek Look Tong

This time I was accompanied by my beloved girlfriend Kimmy Chung, both of us had a great time back there exploring some new places to go. ME & Kimmy reached Ipoh early Saturday morning and I accompanied my parents for some Dim Sum delicacies. We went to Foh San Dim Sum and guess what the crowd isn't that much today. The food meanwhile was pretty normal and the quality of the Dim Sum here had dropped and it's not so tasty anymore. Then after our breakfast, we sat at my home until 12.00pm for lunch. Till then, special thanks to my cousin sister who spend our whole family lunch at Restoran Kok Thai. This restaurant serves one of the delicious duck meat in town and you should come here and try it. About other dishes, it was rather satisfying as well.

Place Of Interest: Nam Thean Tong & Ling Sen Tong

Then at 2.30pm, ME & Kimmy had decided to go to Kek Look Tong Cave situated at Gunung Rapat, Ipoh. Once we entered this cave, it was a buddhist cave and there's a lot of God's statue inside and it's for praying purposes as well. You may visit this cave without paying anything as the parking is rather FREE as well. The cave is pretty windy and this makes you felt cooling while walking around the cave. It has a small garden and a pool below the cave and that it's most suitable for jogging. Nothing much to see here but the most important thing is you will get to see the formation of the limestone at the cave with different outlook. You may try to come over to this temple but you may need locals help because the road leading to this cave is pretty confusing as well.

Then around 3.30pm, we proceed to yet another Ipoh famous cave in town which is the Nam Thean Tong. Here, you can lots of statues which they are God and it contains lots of different Gods. Besides, you can go into the temple situated inside the cave for prayers as well. This place is a must visit for all of you who had your first day stepping down to Ipoh Town.

Place Of Interest: Japanese Garden

An hour later, we proceed to Japanese Garden located just opposite the KPJ Hospital in Ipoh. We were quite dissapointing with the Garden because it was not well maintained and there's nothing to see already. When both of us reach there, there are no people at the Japanese Garden and the things inside the garden was pretty old and some already spoil with none of them maintaining it. Try to avoid this Garden when you go to Ipoh. Then after that we had settle down pretty nicely and we had visited Ipoh Parade as our choice. There are selling lots of varieties such as from bags to clothings as well as home appliances and home retail. A great place to be for shopping.

Next for dinner time, both of us had decided to go for Lou Wong Taugeh Chicken to try out the taugeh chicken. We reach there around 6.30pm and the crowd was pretty less as well that time. It starts to build up when it starts at 8.00pm. The chicken is pretty fresh but the meat was not solid and it's pretty rough as well. The taugeh chicken is tasty while the Meatball was pretty nice as well. A great place to be for dinner perhaps! Worth of try! Before we ended our 1st Day journey, we visited Jusco Kinta City and it's yet another great place to shop at Ipoh.
