Food Hunt: A Little Dim Sum Place (甜心点心), Desa Sri Hartamas

Dear All,

Welcome back to yet another edition of Food Hunt before counting down for yet another nice makan trip to Ipoh and Cameron Highlands in a week time. Today, without any hesitation, ME & Kimmy had settled down at A Little Dim Sum Place located at Desa Sri Hartamas to try out their food since their move from SS2 in Petaling Jaya. It had been since last year that I visited this restaurant.

We reach the place at around 7.00pm and it was pretty crowded as the tables were almost fully occupied by the customers. We sat down and briefly looking at the menu to see what had changed since the last time I came. And after my observation, it's still the same. We ordered several dishes such as BBQ Pork Wan Tan Mee (RM7.90), King Of Shiu Mai (RM6.50), Glutinous Chicken Rice (RM4.50), Potato Ball (RM5.50), Steamed Fish Ball (Yee Mai) (RM4.50) and the famous Durian Pancake (RM9.80). For drinks, both of us ordered a pot of Chinese Tea (RM1.80). In the menu, there's quite a lot of choices to choose for from the menu.

The BBQ Pork Wan Tan Mee was pretty plain but there's nothing much to brag about. The soup meanwhile was pretty nice and the BBQ Pork was pretty fresh as well but the Wan Tan Mee is lacked of soy sauce. But Kimmy love this type of Wan Tan Mee and she claimed that it was nice. It's up for you to decide. For the King Of Shiu Mai, you must try it because it's one of the restaurant's signature dish. The Shiu Mai is really big in size based on the word King and it marks the word down. The prawns served is really fresh and it was tasty and fantastic. Both of us love the taste of the Shiu Mai. For the Glutinous Chicken Rice, it was not nice and it was almost tasteless. Do not order this dish when you are here. The Potato Ball meanwhile was also tastes so-so as it does not impress both of us either. The decorations is really good but not the quality of the Potato Ball. Also do not order this dish. The Steamed Fish Ball (Yee Mai) meanwhile was pretty fresh and nice. The fish used is very fresh and you will love the taste and of Steamed Fish Ball. Last but not least is the Durian Pancake. This is also one of the famous restaurant signature dish and it was simply fantastic. The Durian Pancake serves as a dessert as it really melts at your mouth. The pancake was covered by a piece of layered durian skin and inside the pancake, it contains durian and some cream and it's served cold so that it melts directly to your mouth. For durian lovers, you will simply love this dish and you vowed to come back to eat it again. Trust me! The Chinese Tea meanwhile was pretty nice as it uses a lot of tea leaves and this makes the pot of Chinese Tea taste more fragrance and nice. The best dishes to the poor dishes is as follows (based on what we've ordered): Durian Pancake, King Of Shiu Mai, Steamed Fish Ball (Yee Mai), BBQ Pork Wan Tan Mee, Potato Ball & Glutinous Chicken Rice.

Overall, it's a little bit pricey for the Dim Sum served here compared to those normal restaurants. But if we look at the environment, it's much more better than the ones outside as this restaurant is an air-conditioned restaurant which has a great ambiance and comfortable. The total bill came and it costs us about RM41.10. The food was nice but still limited to certain food and I can tell you, this place is pretty famous for its Dim Sum as well. I would recommend you to try it out if you have not and it's located at the heart of Desa Sri Hartamas where it's nearby Souled Out. Enjoy! MY RATING: 5/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 5/5
