Food Hunt: Tong's Roast Workshop
Dear All,
Welcome back to yet another edition of Food Hunt where today it's such a long time that ME & Steve Chai never went out for lunch together. Since I have a promotional coupon to dine into the restaurant, I've decided to invite Steve Chai to try out the food over there at Tong's Roasted Workshop located at Fraser Business's Park Off Jalan Loke Yew.
We reach the restaurant as about 12.00pm and the crowd was pretty less. The crowd who came in is mostly from those who also bought the promotional coupon online as I can see. Once we sat down, we looked at the menu and their main servings on the restaurants would be roasted chicken and pork. We've ordered 2 set of Chicken Rice (RM5.50 original price) (included when we bought the promotional coupon) and for side dishes, we've ordered BBQ & Roasted Pork (1 plate) (RM12.00) & 2 drinks which is the Cane Chestnut Water (RM3.00 per servings).
Let's go straight to the food comments. The Chicken Rice which consists of a plate of Braised & Roasted Chicken respectively was pretty normal and nothing special about it. It's like normal and it's not so fragrance as we taught and Steve commented that it's pretty salty as well. The chicken was fresh but the taste was normal and slightly dissapointed. They need to improve on this. The BBQ & Roasted Pork was average but what I want to say is the BBQ Pork is the most tasty dishes among all. The Roasted Pork meanwhile was normal and it's not tasty nor crunch. The best came from the BBQ Pork where it's very tasty indeed. You should try this one. I would say amazing for the BBQ Pork. For the Cane Chestnut Water, it was nice and recommended to try it out too.
The price meanwhile was pretty reasonable for the food we get. Furthermore, we sat on the air conditioned restaurant and the total bill came is about RM18.55 and they only charged based on the service tax and there's no government tax imposed. I would still recommend you to try restaurant although the food is just average but remember to try out the BBQ Pork as it's the best dishes so far I've tried at the restaurant. I also hope they can improve their chicken taste because I've given their comments at their feedback column when I pay my bill that time. Enjoy! MY RATING: 3/5 ; STEVE RATING: 3/5. AVERAGE FOOD RECOMMENDATION!
* Food & Drinks Rating are based on the food we've ordered and not overall food & drinks.
