My Comments: Bravo! It's the new year eve and it was a great day to end the year of course where ME & Kimmy had chosen to go and watch movie at GSC Maxx at Berjaya Times Square before attending a house warming party. It was a great pleasure to be here and Berjaya Times Square was so crowded because a lot of people been waiting for the countdown celebrations to user the brand new year 2011. We reach GSC Maxx at about 4.15pm and we immedietely bought the tickets. The crowd meanwhile was just moderate as we could only see a few numbers queuing up to buy movie tickets. Let's go straight to the movie review.
This is an adventurous movie and Jack Black play a big role in this movie as Gulliver. He went to Bermuda Triangle and get lost and in the same time arrived into another world where he is the giant at the kingdom. The movie meanwhile was pretty bored and of course there's laughter in this movie as well. For those who wanted to watch 3D, you are advised better not to because it has a very limited 3D effects and DO NOT waste money to watch it. As for the storyline, it was just moderate and do not expect too much on this movie to be the movie of the year or something because it was too simple and not that interesting though. It would be a simple family movie but not very impressive though. At times, it was pretty bored too. I would not recommend you to watch this movie because it was simply not good enough and you should target other movie rather than this one. Enjoy! MY RATING: 3/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 3/5

Food Hunt: Restoran Choong Huat Steamboat (松发潮州海鲜火锅), Taman Cheras (U Lek)

Hi All,

Welcome back to a wet Tuesday evening where ME & Steve Chai had one thing in mind which is having our lovely HOT dinner. Of course, after the heavy downpour that hit the Klang Valley. Since I go and look for Steve Chai at Cheras, we've decided to craft for steamboat. Steve Chai had introduce to me one of the famous steamboat restaurant located at U Lek Garden in Downtown Cheras and we are ready!

We reach the restaurant at about 8.00pm and it was pretty crowded also but there are people who come and go and still you can find a place to sit in a shorter time. According to Steve, it was almost packed in the weekends. We ordered Yin Yang soup and 2 person pax dishes / ingredients for steamboat. The portion of the steamboat was average and not as big as I've tried in Kepong. The price meanwhile was bit expensive as compared to Kepong. It was priced at RM14.50 per pax. The Yin Yang soup meanwhile was just average and the 'Ching Tong' soup was tasteless. It was not nice at all. The Tom Yum soup was average and still acceptable. We've also added the Golden Mushroom (Big) and it costs us about RM7.00 per plate.

The bill came and it costs us about RM39.90 plus the drinks where I've ordered Coke and Steve ordered Sour Plum Juice. The price meanwhile can be considered NOT WORTH IT as I can find a better price and a better portion than this restaurant. I would not recommend you to come over and try and I am wondering why some of the bloggers said it was nice. Only try this restaurant at last resort only. Enjoy! MY RATING: 2/5 ; STEVE: 3/5

Soccer: Malaysia wins AFF-Suzuki Cup on 4-2 aggregate; PM declares Friday a public holiday

Malaysia wins AFF-Suzuki Cup on 4-2 aggregate; PM declares Friday a public holiday

JAKARTA: Malaysia has won the AFF-Suzuki Cup on a 4-2 aggregate. Indonesia won the second leg of the final 2-1 in Jakarta on Wednesday night while Malaysia had won the first leg 3-0 in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.

The scorers for Indonesia were Mohammad Ridwan (87th minute) and Mohammad Nasuha (71st). Safee Sali had scored in the 53rd minute to put Malaysia 1-0 in the lead. It was a significant success for Malaysia as the last time the senior national team became champions in a regional competition was at the 1989 SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur.

It was also the first time in the AFF Championships since 1996 that Malaysia has become champions. To make it a grand night for Malaysia, Safee won the Golden Boot award with five goals to his name. The striker was on target twice in the first leg. Later Wednesday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak declared Friday, Dec 31, a public holiday in recognition of our team's AFF-Suzuki Cup triumph.

Malaysia started with the same line-up that was fielded in the first leg, except for midfielder Mohd Amirulhadi Zainal and right-back Mahali Jasuli, who were suspended. The duo were replaced by Mohd Ashaari Shamsuddin and Mohd Sabree Abu respectively. The Indonesians were without their inspirational flanker Okto Maniani, who was also out on suspension while striker Yongky Ari Bowo was out with an injury. Their replacements were Arif Suyono and Irfan Bachdim respectively. As expected, Indonesia came charging from the starting whistle but the Malaysian defence led by Mohd Muslim Ahmad and Mohd Fadhli Shas did well to keep a tight leash on Indonesian dangermen Christian Gonzales and Irfan Bachdim.
But a lapse of concentration inside the box resulted in Indonesia winning a penalty in the 15th minute, when Mohd Sabree handled the ball. However, much to the disappointment of the Indonesian fans, skipper Firman Utina’s tame kick was saved by Malaysian goalkeeper Khairul Fahmi Che Mat. The Indonesians, who were desperate for an early goal, kept on pressing for the opening goal but Khairul Fahmi proved to be a stumbling block, denying at least five attempts at goal before the half-time break.

Malaysia took the lead against the run of play in the 53rd minute, when Ashaari sent a long through ball for Safee to chase, and the Selangor hitman scored a clinical goal. Despite being a goal down, Indonesia never gave up and their persistence paid off as defender Mohammad Nasuha pounced on a loose ball from goalkeeper Khairul’s save to hit the roof of the net in the 71st minute. Then with the clock ticking away, Muhammad Ridwan scored from a goal-mouth melee in the 87th minute but this was not enough to deny Malaysia the AFF-Suzuki Cup.

Food Hunt: Bone & Pot (有骨气) Steamboat, Taman Mayang, Petaling Jaya

Hello All,

Welcome back to yet another edition of Food Hunt. Special thanks to Chee Hoh, who brought us to this restaurant to try out the steamboat over here. We did not plan the outing here but out of our circumstances, in the first place we plan to eat rice but ended up eating steamboat as the restaurant is packed with people. We reach there restaurant at about 7.30pm and it was very crowded indeed inside the Bone & Pot Restaurant.

We have 5 of us including Chee Hoh, my cousin sister, my uncle & aunty and also including me. We were served with a fantastic private room because the seats are full at Ground Floor (non private room) and we have to go up to 1st floor. We got this private room as we are lucky because it's only cater for booking only but if Ground Floor is full, then they will open for public even if you did not book. It was a grea atmosphere in the private room as there's a private air conditioned as well as a TV set so that you can enjoy your meal while watching television. No extra charge for those who are sitting in a private room. We ordered several ingredients including the Signature Pork Bone Broth that costs us about RM15.00 per pot. The ingredients overall were fresh and it was nice to eat too. The signature pork bone broth meanwhile was nice and above average. We ordered about 10 plates of ingredients and each plates costs us about RM7.00 minimum to RM9.90 maximum per plate and it contains a maximum of 4 ingredients per plate. For drinks, we ordered Chinese Tea Pot.

The food was very fresh and the service was very good either. But I would like to stress that there will be no set served and it's all Ala-Carte including the broth. You will order what you want to eat and it was not well prepared (set) and that is why it's a bit overpricey. It you are a big eater, then it's not suitable for you as I would say it's not filling too. You better go to steamboat buffet than. This is cater for those who ate less and wanna try out the food over here. It's a great atmosphere and ambience over here but be prepared to craft out your wallet a little bit. I would recommend you to come over and try out their broth as it was special indeed and their food was very fresh too. The bill came including tax would be RM142.00++ for 5 persons and you do the judge. It was pretty expensive and most of us are complaining about that. The food portion was small and not worth it. Well, an old word says if you come here for just food without even care about the price, then this place is right for you as the food was nice and the atmosphere was chilling and relaxing but if you mind about the price then you may just opt to try something cheaper in other restaurants but I can guarantee you, eating there is much more comfort than you eat outside the restaurant but you have to pay more aights! Check out the photos and ENJOY! MY RATING: 4/5

Soccer: Safee, Ashaari on target as Malaysia score thumping win over Indonesia

Safee, Ashaari on target as Malaysia score thumping win over Indonesia

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysians roared as ferocious Tigers at the National Stadium in Bukit Jali last night.

And they turned the tables on favourites Indonesia for a thumping 3-0 victory in the first-leg final of the Suzuki Cup Asean Football Federation (AFF) championships in front of a sell-out 100,000 fans. It was sweet revenge over Indonesia, who thrashed them 5-1 in the opening Group A match on Dec 1.

Mohd Safee Sali scored a brace in the 60th and 73rd minutes while substitute Mohd Ashaari Shamsuddin (pic) netted the other goal in the 67th minute to give Malaysia a comfortable cushion for the return match at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta on Wednesday. Indonesia need four goals to pip Malaysia to the title. And coach K. Rajagopal’s boys cannot afford to let their guard down as they did when they lost the opening group match.

Last night, Norsharul Idlan Talaha paved the way for the Malaysian victory, setting up the first two goals. In a flash of brilliance, Norsharul used his trademark burst and dash tactics to open up the Indonesia defence for Safee to strike in the 60th minute. After that, Malaysia were on fire. The only two significant incidents in the goalless first half were costly yellow cards picked up by Indonesia’s nippy midfielder Okto Maniani and Malaysia’s right-flanker Mohd Amirulhadi Zainal in the fifth and 44th minutes respectively.

The two have played their last match in the tournament and will be out on suspension in the second-leg match. In fact, Indonesia were the more dangerous in their counter raids. The best chance to score came after hotshot Christian Gonzales robbed the ball from Amar Rohidan in the centre of the pitch and put Yongky Ari Bowo through for a shot at goal in the 22nd minute.

The best chance for Malaysia fell for S. Kunalan after he weaved past two defenders in the 18th minute but his shot at goal lacked power and gave goalkeeper Markus Harison an easy catch. The game was stopped after 53 minutes of play as the Indonesians protested against fans distracting them by using laser light beams to shoot into their eyes. There were a warning on the giant screen telling the fans that the match would be abandoned if there were more of such incidents during the game.

Play resumed after six minutes and Malaysia hit paydirt at the hour mark when Norsharul stole the ball from the right, beat defender Mohammad Nasuha before relaying the ball to Safee for the easiest of task to tap into goal. Seven minutes later, Mohd Ashaari showed that he too had a lethal right-foot when he picked up Norsharul’s cross to score from inside the box.

Defender Mahali Jasuli did the final damage to Indonesia, who came to Bukit Jalil with the reputation of having won all five previous matches, when he found Safee with a long cross into the box and the Selangor striker made no mistake by nodding the ball into goal in the 73rd minute.

Food Hunt: Pun Chun (品珍) Restaurant, Kota Kemuning Shah Alam

Good Afternoon Everyone,

Welcome back to yet another edition of Food Hunt where today it's Christmas and I woke up late. Then ME & my brother Alan had suggested to go for some special meal that we did not eat for quite a long time.

Then it came to our mind that we can try out the famous Bidor Duck Mee, who now had a branch in Kota Kemuning in Shah Alam and we would like to try again. Previously, I've tried the duck mee over there several times and it's absolutely gorgeous. I love the taste of the Duck Mee and it was like the original duck mee which was in Bidor, Perak. Today's crowd was a bit moderate although it was a holiday and it started to build up after 2.00pm despite we reached the restaurant at about 1.15pm. Once we sat down the table, we were served immedietely and their service is good although there's a lot of people in the restaurant.

Normally I would recommend you to try out the duck thigh but today it had finish and we have to settle for the duck breast. However, we are still very satisfied about it. I ordered Soup Duck Mee (RM7.80) while Alan ordered Dry Duck Mee (RM7.80). For drinks, I've ordered Barley (RM1.30) and their barley is very special as they added pandan leaf flavour into it and that makes the barley very nice. Many people ordered this while they are eating in the restaurant. Alan ordered Chinese Tea (RM0.50). I would like to say that both of the Soup & Dry Duck Mee are simply nice and gorgeous. It was the best duck mee that I've ever eaten before and you should give it a try. Among the soup and dry, I would say the dry Duck Mee was the best as it comes with the dry mee and a small bowl of duck with soup in it. The Dry Mee is very nice as the mee was very juicy and great! A must try no matter where you are, just travel to Kota Kemuning, Shah Alam to craft for great food. For the Soup Duck Mee, it was also very nice but you can't taste the herbal soup to the maximum as it had mixed with the mee unlikely the Dry Duck Mee.

Overall the bill came and the price is RM17.80 for the food we consume. The portion of the food was just moderate as the small portion would be a bit small and the big portion is just like the medium portion. The price meanwhile is acceptable and reasonable as we know the price of the duck is pretty expensive and the herbal soup meanwhile also quite expensive though and the price of less than RM10.00 can be considered reasonable and cheap. Do come on over and don't miss a chance to taste the best duck mee in town. Of course, you may opt to try other food in the restaurant such as curry mee, duck rice but the recommended ones would be duck mee for sure. There's also a HQ restaurant in Bidor town, Perak as they had another branch in Kota Kemuning in Shah Alam. Have a great Christmas and food hunting! :) MY RATING: 5/5 ; ALAN RATING: 5/5

Food Hunt: Ichiban Boshi, Sunway Giza

Hello All,

First & Foremost, I would like to wish all a Merry Christmas to all food hunters who had followed my blog until today and thanks for your greatest support. Today is Christmas Eve, and most importantly we should be celebrating and food that came into our mind and YES! We have chosen Sunway Giza as our destination as we haven't been there for food hunt and today we are here in conjunction to countdown the Christmas Celebrations. Also on our first plan, we have decided to visit FullHouse but it was full and need to wait for merely 2 hours.

So we have chosen Ichiban Boshi as our backup destination to have our food. We reach there around 8.30pm and the place was very crowded. We reached Ichiban Boshi at about 9.15pm and we still need to wait for about 15 minutes before we were brought to be seated. The restaurant was full and as usual the business was brisk during Christmas Eve where everyone came out to celebrate. Once we were seated, we were served immedietely and the variety of food was quite a lot too.

I've ordered Chicken Teriyaki Don (RM15.90) while Kimmy had ordered Potato Cheese (RM10.90). For drinks both of us ordered Green Tea Ocha (RM1.20 each). We've also ordered sushi such as California Temaki (RM4.00), Unagi Temaki (RM4.00), Ebiko Gunkan (RM4.00) and Spicy Fried Crab Sushi (RM4.00) and most of sushi plates there are selling RM4.00 per plate. I would say it's a mid-range sushi restaurant but most importantly is the food sold at the restaurant. Overall, the Chicken Teriyaki Don was nice as the chicken was fresh and the rice was steamed as well. But I have to say the portion is very big indeed and since it was too dry, I hardly can take it and need to consume with Miso Soup to finish it. The more you ate, the more 'geli' you will feel because of the dryness. For Kimmy's Potato Cheese, it was nice too as it contains corn and bacon that was surrounded by cheese and potato. The portion was just nice and suitable for everyone to eat. You may order this as your side dishes as well. It was a special dish from Ichiban Boshi and it was good too. As usual the food was fresh too. For the sushi's, it was nice overall as it was fresh but the rice is too soft and not so nice. If the rice is not too soft, it would be just nice.

I would recommend you to try out this restaurant located at Sunway Giza as the food was rated not bad in my opinion and worth of trying. The portion of the rice will be very big and you can even share with 2 persons. Do come over and try out the food mentioned above and for every single food, satisfaction is there but for sushi, it would be a very subjective matter as some loves to eat soft hand-made rice while some prefer harder type hand-made rice. The price meanwhile costs us about RM51.98 and I would say the price was reasonable for the portion of food we get. Enjoy yourself and Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas Cheer! MY RATING: 4/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 4/5

*Food & drinks rating are based on the food & drinks we've ordered and not overall food & drinks.
