Hey All,
It was a dull Sunday afternoon in the first place after the move that me & Kimmy had watched in cinema earlier was not so nice after all. But everything's changed during the evening time where we've decided to go for a food hunt yet again to satisfy our needs. We would like to bring back our mood as me, Kimmy and Alan have chosen to go to Sungai Buloh to try out Thai food. After me & Kimmy had watched the movie, then at 6.00pm I go to fetch my brother Alan and then we are off to Sungai Buloh.
We reach Sungai Buloh at 7.00pm and we managed to find the restaurant pretty easily using my GPS. Nowadays with GPS, it's easy to find the destination there as well. The restaurant design was real great and nice. It's similiar to the kampung houses @ Thailand house decoration which is situated along the Kampung Sentosa in Sungai Buloh. Ok, once we find the table, we immedietely look at the menu. Actually, to be frank there are not many choices there as I browse thru the menu but I know what to order actually (before I go, I have done some homework). So, upon approval from Alan & Kimmy, I've ordered 4 dishes including Tom Yum Gung (mixed seafood), Sweet & Sour Siakap Fish, Pandan Wrapped Chicken & Belacan Kangkung.
It doesn't took long for the dishes to be served. If I am not mistaken, it only takes about 5-10 mins for all the dishes to be served as I believe they have cooked the dishes before and just reheat the dishes to be served to us. But to be frank, the dishes came were all fresh and tasty. It was totally unbelivable as the dishes that we've ordered was very nice and tasty. Let's begin with the Tom Yum Gung first. It's a mixed seafood Tom Yum Gong as it contains a lot of squid, prawn, chicken & mushroom and it's worth of money. The tom yum was totally amazing as it was enough hot and sour. It's priced RM35 for a medium size one.
Next, it's the sweet & sour Siakap Fish. The main point of this fish is the delicious sweet & sour sauce. Once you eat together between the sweet & sour sauce with the siakap fish, you can feel the amazing smell and you can feel that you would like to continuing to consume the fish again and again. It's priced RM40 per fish. The fish is pretty big and it's value for money.
The Pandan Wrapped Chicken was another great stuff as it's their restaurant popular dish. Most of the people who went there, will surely ordered the pandan wrapped chicken. The chicken was wrapped inside a pandan leaf and once served and you consume, you can smell the fragrance of the chicken and once you eat the chicken, the juice of the chicken will come out and you will be amazed with the taste. The pandan wrapped chicken is priced ar RM3 per piece and you have a choice of minimum 6,9 to 12 pieces. We've ordered 6 pieces of chicken.
Finally, introducing the Belacan Kangkung. Now, everyone as a chef can cook the belacan kangkung but what's so special about the belacan kangkung in De Chiengmai? Actually the secret is with the freshness of its vegetables. De Chiengmai grows it's own vegetables and they owned a mini farm just beside the restaurant. You can visit the farm during daytime. The vegetables served were so fresh and you can really enjoy the juicy freshness of the vegetables. With the good cook and the skills he had, he had made the belacan kangkung a very nice dish to consume. Amazing. The price is RM8 per plate.
The bill came and it costs RM110.00 including 4 dishes (RM101), 5 bowls of rice (RM1 per bowl) and a bottle of mineral water (RM4). There is no tax being calculated. Overall, the food was very nice and it's nearly into perfection. Although some of you would think, it's pretty expensive but for me I think it's value for money as long as it's nice. We took some photos there and you can view it partially from this blog and all of them via my Facebook. It worth of trying once in a while if you think the price was pretty expensive but it you are not looking into price, this is the place to be for wonderful Thai food. We took off from De Chiengmai restaurant at about 8.15pm. RATING: 5/5

Alan: Alan told alexleow-kimmy.com that the food was just nice. He said that the Pandan Wrapped Chicken was his favourite too. The Tom Yum Gung was nice and amazing as it's enough of hot and spicy. Thumbs up that one. Others all were just normal. RATING: 4/5
