My Comments: Since today is 2 days away from Chinese New Year, we've decided to watch a Chinese New Year movie and today we've chosen our very own local production Once Upon A Time and we catch this show at MBO Kepong Village Mall. Featuring some famous local artists cum Deejays Jack Lim, Gan Mei Yan, Vivian Tok, Jeff Chin, Royce Tan as well as many well supported artists such as Rosyam Nor, we both have quite high expectations on this movie and we hope that it will be nice. After 3 successful years, the film engine production in collaboration with Astro, had developed good films but frankly speaking this year it has a big letdown on this movie. This movie talks about the ancient times and how the emperor was then taking a time machine to today. The storyline is quite messy and it does not show competency and it's too simple to digest. The jokes only appears mostly in front of the movie but then it turns out to be a little bit boring until the end of the movie. They spend a huge budget in this movie especially in building the emperor kingdom but in the end they did not fully utilize the scenes and just a few shots only.
Their acting is still decent especially the Deejay stars but unfortunately Director Silver Yee did not actually show his real credibility in this movie and it's the worst among the other 3 movies that I've seen so far for the past 3 years. I really hope Silver can improve a bit on the storyline next year. However, there are some jokes which is quite catchy in this movie including " Ai Ya", "Ah Ma" that was spoken out by Rosyam Nor. I would not so recommend you to watch this movie as it's a quite boring movie but since this is a Chinese New Year production from Astro, if you are a big fans of Ah Beng, then this movie is quite suitable for you too as it features some cameo shots from Ah Beng too. Enjoy! MY RATING: 3/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 3/5
