Food Hunt: The Steamboat Ketam Village, Desa ParkCity, Kepong

Dear All,

Welcome back to yet another edition of Food Hunt. Today ME & Kimmy had visited The Steamboat Ketam Village Restaurant located at Desa Park City Kuala Lumpur. We had a great time after watching movie nearby and as for dinner, we have decided to try this. We reached the restaurant at around 7.45pm and the restaurant is crowded no matter inside or outside the restaurant. The seats are very much occupied and I have to wait about 15 minutes before we got seated inside the restaurant. The waitress there are very polite and they follow the seats allocation accordingly.

At around 8.00pm, finally we got our seats and we sat down and were given 2 sets of menu. We browse through the menu and then we've decided what to order. Since we have 2 persons dining in, we've ordered the Double Combo Value Set where the ingredients is for 2 people (RM39.30). The sets consists of lots of fresh seafood ranging from fish balls, prawns, crab meat, tofu, fish and many more. The portion is just nice for 2 persons and you may also call ala-carte items and I've ordered the Golden Mushroom (RM5.30) Please see pictures. For drinks I've ordered Coke (RM2.80) while Kimmy ordered Chinese Tea which is not refillable (RM1.00). For the broth, I've ordered the normal 'ching tong' Soup while Kimmy ordered the Tom Yam Soup. Remember, the broth is ordered individually (individually pot) as it will be served in front of each person who dine in.

I am impressed with the quality of the food over here as it was freshly served. I can taste the freshness of its seafood especially the prawn and fish. Others such as fish balls and tofu is very nice too. The 'ching tong' Soup is very nice where the sweetness taste is just nice. For Kimmy's Tom Yam Soup, it was not so nice in the first place but upon adding the ingredients inside the soup, it started to taste nice and it's pretty spicy as well. The Tom Yam Soup was second best after the Happy City Tom Yam Soup. We did enjoyed the food over here and we ate until burppp.... For the golden mushroom, it's very clean and fresh too. Remember to try the chilli 'sambal' as well as it was nice.

The price is slightly expensive compared to other steamboat outlets. The portion of the steamboat is average and it's just enough for 2 people to eat. The total bill came and it's RM54.20 plus government and service tax. Overall, the food is fresh while the soups are nice too and the portion is acceptable to eat. We will definitely come back again to dine in considering the quality of the food and soup but as a reminder, you must come early to avoid queuing up as this restaurant will be extremely full after 7.00pm (Weekends). For weekdays, you can still find a place to sit with less people. Also this is a HALAL restaurant. Enjoy! MY RATING: 4.5/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 5/5
