Welcome back to this special edition of the Kuantan Trip (Place Of Interest). We arrived at Kuantan at 15th November 2009 (Sunday) at 10.30am from Kuala Lumpur. This is my very first time travelling to Kuantan and I am very excited about this trip. We already have our own timetable planning on what place to visit. Me & Kimmy's first destination in Kuantan, Pahang is to Sungai Lembing. Sungai Lembing is a quiet town which has its' own history of tin ore. Since we are talking about history here, then we visited the Sg. Lembing Museum about 33KM off Kuantan town. At this museum, you get to see those historic times on how tin ore (Bijih Timah) were collected and their lifestyle at that time. It was a wonderful museum where it's free of charge and you get to know the history of Sungai Lembing. RATING: Recommended Place to Visit. We had our lunch at about 12.30pm at Kuantan town.
In the afternoon about 2.30pm, we checked in the hotel The hotel that we stayed is at Vistana Hotel. It's a 4-star hotel and the first impression that I've step in is that I am very satisfied with their hospitality and their customer service is rather friendly as well. Thumbs up for this hotel. It also equipped with a FREE WIFI services where you can enjoy free internet services inside the hotel you stay. The room rates is pretty reasonable with the service you get and the quality of rooms you enjoy. The rooms were pretty spacious and was clean as well. The Deluxe Room with King Size Bed costs about RM207.00 nett per night. We did have a comfortable stay over there. RATING: Very Recommended Place To Stay.
After we checked in the hotel successfully. then we continue our journey to Taman Teruntum in search of the Mini Zoo. You just need to drive about 5KM for the Vistana Hotel and on the way to Teluk Chempedak beach as well. We arrived at the place at about 3.30pm despite there's some drizzling as well. It's pretty much easy to find this place if you have GPS system equipped inside your car. Everytime I travel, I will use the GPS for easier tracking of the place rather than we find it ourselves if we are pretty new to the place. The mini zoo was pretty dissapointing because there are not much animals to see inside as the cage were mostly empty. One thing is, this mini zoo is free or charge but it's still not a recommended place to go. RATING: Not Recommended To Go At All.
After spending about 20 mins inside the mini zoo, then Me & Kimmy decided to go for a beach walk since Teluk Chempedak is about 5 minutes drive from the Mini Zoo, Taman Teruntum. This beach area is the most beautiful and happening beaches that I've seen so far. Enjoy the beautiful scenery of the sea and the cleanliness of the beach that makes this beach a perfect gateway for a beautiful holiday. At the time, the weather was cloudy and windy too. While I am walking at the beach, it was so cooling and refreshing as well. There's a hotel there as well for you to stay. Hyatt Regency Hotel is the only big hotel names situated at Teluk Chempedak. Of course, we do take photos from there as well. For couples, this is a wonderful place for you to go. RATING: Very Recommended Place To Go. We had our dinner at about 7.30pm as the sky was already dark.
After we had our dinner, we did find something do at night so we decided to go to Berjaya Megamall, Kuantan's largest shopping mall. Inside the area, there are many shops but mostly were already closed because we reach there at about 8.30pm. RATING: Not A Bad Place For Shopping. For more photos, please check my Facebook as I will update the most updates and comprehensive photos as well. Stay tuned for Day 2 Kuantan in my next post.
