Food Hunt: DAY 1 Kuantan, Pahang

Welcome back to yet another edition of Food Hunt. This time, me & Kimmy had made out way far to the east coast side for visiting and also Food Hunting. We had selected Kuantan, Pahang as our visit this time. It was a wonderful journey back there and of course we need some food for our stomach as well and we are going to bring you around Kuantan for some food hunt action. Overall Day 1 food hunt was not so impressive but still acceptable. The food that we've selected is not as tasty as it is and they have a different taste then ours back here in Kuala Lumpur. How does it taste like? Stay tuned for my review below.

At 12.30pm after our trip to Sg Lembing town, about 33KM from Kuantan Town, we've decided to have lunch at Kuantan town. I browse through the GPS and look for any Hainan Chicken Rice around and I've found one. It's called the Restaurant Kampung Hainan. It's situated along Jalan Lim Hoe Lek and just beside the Petronas petrol station. We stopped there to have our lunch and as we sat down, we look at the menu and we've ordered taugeh, honey roasted chicken and 1 kampung chicken (see pictures). For drinks, I've ordered chrysenthemum tea and Kimmy ordered barley. Let me comment on the chicken. Both chicken taste were not as tasty as the ones in Kuala Lumpur. Besides, the flesh of the chicken is very less. The taugeh was acceptable and nice. The chilli is totally different from KL. There, the chilli is pretty much sour and less spicy compared to KL. Overall, it's not recommended for you to stop over there to try out the Hainan Chicken Rice because it's not tasty. RATING: 2.5 / 5 ; KIMMY RATING: 2/5

Then at night about 7.30pm, we went to Kemaman Kopitiam to try out their specilities. Of course, when we speak about Kopitiam, we will be looking forward for their coffee because mostly it's their speciality. There, I ordered Kemaman Coffee and Nasi Lemak Kukus with Sambal Petai. Kimmy ordered Soursoup with Guava and Nasi Lemak Kukus with Curry Chicken (see pictures). The Kemaman Coffee was absolutely great and delicious because it is very "KAWWW!". I've never tried this type of coffee before and once I drink it, it was so tasty and rich in coffee taste. The nasi lemak kukus meanwhile was delicious as well and I really enjoy the food there at Kemaman Kopitiam. For Kimmy, the Soursoup with Guava was very nice and tasty too. It's totally fresh and up to the taste standard. But for her she don't really like the taste of the nasi lemak so she said the nasi lemak was just average. Besides, we also ordered a side dish which is the Cucur Sayur. The cucur sayur was nice though but it's a bit cold when it served to us. Overall, it will be a recommended place to go but don't go during Sunday night (the day I went) because a lot of food is not available for sale as either it finishes fast or no delivery like I've like to ordered Nasi Dagang, Nasi Minyak or Keropok Lekor also not available. The food there was nice and great. RATING: 5/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 4/5
