Leisure: Birthday Celebrations 2013

Hello All,

I would like to take this golden opportunity to thanks all of you whom have wished me at various channels including SMS & Facebook. It's definitely a great day for me today as I celebrated my 32nd birthday this year. Thanks to my fiancee Kimmy who had apparently celebrate my birthday and in the same time is our last bachelor birthday. Well, end of bachelor life is not bad though as we are going to start our new love life together.

I was given a surprise by Kimmy who brought me a special 'tie' and I love it very much. Really appreciate what my fiancee have given to me. Apart from that more surprises comes in when I entered Kimmy house, I was given a surprise where Kimmy family had prepared a cake for me and I was so touched and I want to thank Kimmy family for preparing this simple yet meaningful occasion. I did not expect and I was very happy although tired after out for almost whole day.

It was the most special birthday for me although we both had a simple outings as well going out for lunch, dinner and a movie outings that we usually do but it's different today as I carried a different feelings as well. My wish for this birthday is actually very simple :-

1.) Love my fiancee forever
2.) To get better on a married life
3.) To earn more money
4.) To reach better work

We visited Ah Cheng Laksa located at Giant Shah Alam and we arrived at 2.00pm and the crowd is pretty less. For your information, the restaurant usually packed during weekdays and especially during lunch working hours as well. Other than that, the crowd can be considered still OK and not packed. Me & Kimmy sat down nearby the cashier and then we were then served. I've ordered the Assam Laksa + Extra Fish (RM8.90) while Kimmy ordered the Assam Laksa (RM6.90). For drinks, I've ordered the 100 Plus (RM2.90) while Kimmy ordered Longan (RM2.20).

The Assam Laksa with or without extra fish is really nice and tasty. The best part is you can add as many prawn paste as you want with no limit. So far, this restaurant located at Giant Shah Alam is one of the best Ah Cheng laksa around town and then I must agree that the tastes differ for each branch. I would strongly recommend you to come over here to try out the Assam Laksa taste here. The Longan that was ordered by Kimmy was also nice and tasty. We had a great time having our simple yet tasty lunch here. What are you waiting for? Do drop by and taste it. Besides selling Assam Laksa, they also serves Nasi Lemak, Herbal Chicken Rice/Noodle & Curry Laksa and I heard it's tasty too (from other bloggers) as I have not try them. Our next stop would be Italiannies located at Paradigm Mall as our dinner this time. We walked into the restaurant at about 7.45pm and the restaurant is nearly packed and crowded. We browse through the menu and see what we can eat and apparently we have chosen to share the portion instead of having our own. We've ordered  Ice Lemon Tea (RM6.50) for 2 and then Mushroom Soup (Regular) (RM14.90) followed by Spaghetti Meatball (Regular) (RM36.90). By looking at the price, it's pretty expensive but at least the portion is just nice for 2 persons. There are several size to choose from ranging small, regular and large with different price tags. We only waited for about 10 minutes despite the huge crowd and the food came. The Ice Lemon Tea is nice and juicy as well. The Mushroom Soup is nice and creamy too with the portion (Regular) just nice for 2 persons. The Spaghetti Meatball meanwhile is very taste indeed and what impresses me is the meatball where it's huge and big! Overall we are satisfied of the meal. The price is pretty expensive (inclusive of 10% Government Tax & 6% Service Tax) but at least the food is nice and the portion is acceptable. Besides all the food we've ordered, there are also other choices that served at Italiannies such as pizza, pasta, salad, bread and many more. My Comments: It will be another great day as today it's my big day. Today it's my day to choose what movie I wanted to watch and I have chosen Despicable Me and we've decided to watch it at GSC Paradigm Mall.This movie official release date would be 4th of July but GSC had released it about a week earlier and available on 2D and 3D with limited showtimes. Now it's to talk about this movie. The title tells it all. If you have followed Despicable Me first episode, this movie is packed with laughter, excitement and great science fiction. The storyline is suitable for all kinds of age from kids to adults and speaking of the minions, this would laugh off your seats. The minions played a bigger role in this movie and without the minions, this movie is worth nothing. Although we do know what language they are talking about but its actions speaks a thousand words. It's real funny with their special talent too. It's pretty straight forward and no rocket science about the storyline and it's mainly for all of us to laugh. Not only it is famous for its laughter, there's some moral value that worth to learn in this movie as well.

Do look forward for some special laugh when the movie almost end where the minions performed their singing talent and it's really great! With the world class voice of Steve Carell, Kristen Wiig, Al Pacino, Miranda Cosgrove, Dana Gaier, Elsie Fisher, Russell Brand, Ken Jeong, Steve Coogan, Nasim Pedrad & Moises Arias, this movie is nearly perfect as the greatest comedy cum animation movie of all time too. So what are you waiting for? When it releases, be sure to bring your whole family or your love ones to catch this fun yet touching movie and you will be amazed. MY RATING: 5/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 5/5

Announcement: Birthday Message from Alex Leow

Dear All,

It's been a great pleasure that finally my birthday has arrived. This year is my second year entering the 30's so I am getting older and older by now. Well, I have some changes on my work life where now it's in a stable condition while this year's birthday would be my last bachelor birthday as in a few months time, I will register and get married. And luck doesn't seems to be on my side especially on investments this year. It had been pretty bad and I hope for more positive returns in the mere future. I would like to extend my thanks to all of you who wishes me Happy Birthday on my Facebook and via SMS.

I am very happy to receive those messages and I gladly hope that you feel the same too where I wish all of you prosperous in your health and wealth too. Do not give up and try to overcome from failures and vowed to do better than that as life goes on. Once again, I would like to thank my special Kimmy Chung for supporting me throughout this years and I love you so much as we are getting married soon. Also, I would like to share that this is our 4th anniversary today while to be together and nothing's gonna change my love for you. It does happens where it falls on the same date as my birthday. It's going to be a happy day for me and I hope for the best in future so do all of you.

Food Hunt: Auntie Wan Restaurant (彩蝶粥面家), Kepong, Kuala Lumpur

Welcome back to yet another edition of Food Hunt. Today ME & Kimmy had spend our dinner here after driving through looking for food again. We are at Kepong Baru area where we drive around the Public Bank area and we found this restaurant. A lot of people seems inside the restaurant and we've decided to give it a try. We reach the restaurant at about 7.45pm and the crowd started to build up and we are lucky enough to find ourselves a table.

We look at he menu and then we realize that this restaurant actually serves Malaysian and Hong Kong delicacies only ranging from noodle, rice, bread and many more. This restaurant is almost same like Wong Kok or Kim Gary Restaurant but it mixes with some Chinese Malaysian Cuisine. Oh yeah, you can also find Assam Laksa in their menu as well. We've ordered the following:

1.) Prawn Wantons with Egg Noodle Soup  (RM6.90)
2.) Rice Vermicelli with Fish Paste In Soup (RM7.90)
3.) Honey Lemon Cold (RM3.80)
4.) Ice Lemon Tea (RM3.60)

 
It does not take very long for the food to arrive although it's crowded and here's the review. The Honey Lemon and Ice Lemon Tea came first to our table and both of the drinks are cool and it's great to drink during hot weather of course. It's nice and chilling as well. Next would be the Prawn Wantons with Egg Noodle Soup which came next. The portion is average only and then the soup is nice. The noodle meanwhile is nice and tender too. This is recommended to try. For the Rice Vermecelli with Fish Paste In Soup that came last. The taste is just so-so and not so nice. The soup is just somewhere near to tasteless but the noodle is tender and juicy but the soup spoil the whole meal. The fish paste meanwhile is just OK. For this meal, we would not recommend you to try it out.

Last but not least is the bill where we pay RM23.30 with only 6% Service Charge being implemented. The price is reasonable for what we eat as we sat on a air-conditioned restaurant as well. It's not too expensive. Also served in the restaurant including chicken & pork rice too. I will still recommend you to come over to the restaurant to try out our recommended food as well as others too and maybe you can too give us some feedback on other food that you order upon your visit one day. Food Hunt: In-House Health Cuisine, Kota Kemuning, Shah Alam

Welcome back to yet another edition of Food Hunt and today after our short trip to I-City, we than planned for something healthy and we have decided to dine our dinner at In-House Health Cuisine, Kota Kemuning in Shah Alam. This place is very hard to find if you are new to Kota Kemuning as there are no signboards leading you to the place. So we will attached the map and address to you later. Let's go straight to the food reviews.

Hot Signature Lemongrass (RM4.50) ; Jug (RM15.00)

Here you can find lots of healthy cuisine with less salt, sugar and most importantly it uses healthy olive oil for cooking. You can find the tastes slightly lighter but still it's delicious too. We reached there around 7.15pm and the crowd starts to build up and upon it reached 7.30pm, it was crowded and you can hardly find a place to sit. The menu comprises of rice to noodles only with lots of healthy drinks to consume as well. It took us about 10 minutes to decide what to eat and we wrote down on a piece of paper and then pass to the waitress.

We ordered the following :-

1.) Sauna Stone Bowl Fish (RM12.90)
2.) Baked Herbal Chicken Rice (RM12.90)
3.) Natural Fruit & Flower Tea (RM9.90)

It does not take very long for the food to arrive and the Baked Herbal Chicken Rice arrived first. This meal is nice considering the portion is medium size and just nice. This meal contains the cheese covered the chicken as well as some mushrooms, broccoli's, potatoes, carrot and tomatoes. This meal is very nice and recommended to try as well. It's very healthy considering the ingredients they put. Next it's the Sauna Stone Bowl Fish who came and you can actually see some shows before you eat. The waiter/waitress will then pour the soup onto the bowl and then it's boiling hot. This is one of In-House Health Cuisine signature dish. This is really nice considering the soup and noodle which is super tasty and nice. Female patrons will simply love this dish I can guarantee this.Besides you can choose the ingredients which you can choose either Fish, Chicken or Vegetarian. You also can choose 3 differents noodle / rice to eat together with the soup such as Brown Rice, Pumpin Noodles or Rice Noodles. But a bit letdown for this dish is it's quite small portion and most male patrons will find it not enough while most female patrons find it just nice. Super recommended on this dish as well. Finally is our drinks to arrive where it's the Natural Fruit & Flower Tea. It's one of their Signature Drinks as well. It's served with a pot of different types of fruit and flower tea such as apple, peach, oranges, pear and a teabag of flower tea. You can then add water into it and served hot and drink. You can feel the rich aroma of fruits and it's very smoothing too. Super recommended to you when you come here and order it.

Before I forget, when you finish ordering your meal, you will then served with a small cup of their Hot Signature Lemongrass. It's Free Of Charge. If you love this, you can continue to order it at at the price of RM4.50 and if many people in your table would love this, you can order a jug of it for the price of RM15.00 which can cater about 4-5 persons.

When the bill come, it costs us about RM37.85 for the meal including the 6% Service Charge and no charges on the government tax. The price is reasonable and the portion is above average and most importantly the food is nice. I would super recommended you to come over here to try out the healthy food over here and you will be amazed. Kimmy said it's perfect and would like to revisit this place again with great food and cozy environment. Enjoy your meal. MY RATING: 5/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 5/5 (PERFECT)
