Hello folks,
Welcome back to yet another edition of the Chinese New Year 2010 Gathering happening at Duck King in Jaya One, Petaling Jaya. It was an amazing outings overall where we did enjoy the pretty much cozy environment and food over there. Special thanks to our organizer Low Li Yong, who did a splendid job of making this gathering a real success. Besides, she also gave us a surprise whereby after the end of the gathering, we manage to get a chance to win some prizes from her as organizer and guess what! I have won the lucky draw and I was awarded a TIGER bear which later I award to Kimmy as present.
There were 10 people turned out for this gathering and no one FFK this time. Good job guys! Well, the last person who arrived would be myself because I have to wait for Kimmy and to fetch Yen Peng. Well, after I sat down, the food immedietely served upon our request where Li Yong had ordered earlier on. The dishes that she ordered including Yee Sang, Prawns, Chicken Soup, 2 plate of Vegetables, Tauhu Pot, Char Siew (Braised Roasted Pork), Roasted Pork (Siew Yok), Duck and of course Kampung Chicken. Yeah! A total of 10 dishes that we've ordered. I will share with you guys which dish is the best and the worst including those dishes that still can be accepted. The best dishes would be the Duck and the Yee Sang of course of its taste. The duck was very juicy and crispy. It was a totaly recommendation from myself when you eat at this restaurant. The Yee Sang meanwhile is not sweet and you can taste the freshness as well as the rich ingredients which makes the Yee Sang a must try during Chinese New Year. The worst dishes that we've ordered is the Kampung Chicken. It does not contain any flavour at all and the chilli or the garlic that served is not nice and totally out. For other dishes, it's acceptable and I would say it's above average.
Do check out some of the photos of the best dish and some above average dishes that will be posted here (above). I am unable to post all the dishes here because it's too large already. Do check out my Facebook to see all the pictures that I've taken under BSKUPMKTC Chinese New Year Gathering 2010 . When the bill came, it's pretty expensive. But what I can say is the food is pretty good and still you will get some value for money there. 10 dishes costs us about RM596.00++ for 10 persons and the portion of the food is pretty large also. For me, I feel it's expensive and I would not try it more offen and maybe just once in a while. If you care bout the food quality and not the price, then Duck King is the best place for you to go for Chinese fine dining. A good recommendation for this one. MY OVERALL FOOD RATING: 4.5/5. Once again, I would like to thank Li Yong for organizing this event and for the present as well that I've won from her. Special thanks to the attendees for this dinner including Li Yong, Stanley, Kimmy, ME, Yen Sim, Yen Peng, Kevin Kong, Sai Kit, Chloe & Steve Chai. Next year is my turn yeah for organizing it? Well, I will do it because I have won the prize! Haha! Gambateh la! Gong Xi Fa Cai to all of you and wish you best of luck in the year of the Tiger! :) Address:

Sure cannot miss for this....fatt arrrrrrrr
Never eat in tis restaurant! I specifically ordered beforehand that morning & was charged a "Peking Duck" but was given a cold roasted duck skin, CURLY & SOFT not a single piece crispy. Damn! Meat so little lost in a huge plate of noodle, SERVED FIRST! I've to chase for the skin & the captain's reply was "wasn't WARM enough YET!" Since when on earth Peking Duck was served this way! Your guess is right, kena con!!! We asked if the prawns were fresh, the reply was guaranteed but the servings came in steamed stale & tasteless. The miserable bamboo fish was horrific; we've guests therefore shy away from making a scene. For the rest of the food your guess is as good as mine. Serve them right if they may close down sooner, as there seemed to have more "docs than patients" that weekend night and the previous disappointed visits some months back. Duck King is not like when they're new I recommended to friends and my usual "Tong sing pan". They don't deserve to be forgiven, not a chance. I paid nearly RM600 for that dinner (mind you no abalone nor shark's fins, just normal dishes)and the free roasted duck for the next visit shall expire 15DEC10. Feel like taking that free duck and stuff into the boss asshole. Whole bunch of hopeless con artists, shame to the food industry; help them close earlier.
