Synopsis

Poor LIN SHEUNG CHUN (Esther Kwan) is sold to KWAN’s family as a concubine but her husband passes away accidentally. Losing husband has caused the first wife WONG YEUK LAM (Michelle Yim) erratic behaviour. CHUN has no choice but to take up all family responsibilities including operation of the family’s bistro. During the time, MA WING CHING (Roger Kwok) and LEI SHI MUI (Regen Cheung) are swindling around, their schemes get unveiled by CHUN. However, LAM mistakenly recognizes CHING as her senior apprentice and she runs after him all the time. CHING seizes the chance to swindle money by working at the bistro. After a series of incidents, CHUN and CHING unexpectedly have crush on each other. CHUN feels caught in the middle between CHING and her childhood friend LEUNG GAU MUI (Derek Kwok). Food Hunt: Madam Kwan, Mid Valley Megamall

Welcome back to the next edition of the food hunt and this time, Mid Valley Megamall is the next venue that we are going for food hunt after the tiring shopping and of course watching movie at GSC Cinemas. We reach there at about 3.00pm and did a 2 hours shopping. Then we watched movie until 6.30pm and we head towards the dinner place to enjoy our dinner. This time around, we have chosen Madam Kwan as our venue as both of us (Me & Kimmy) haven't try this restaurant before.



Without any hesitation, we sat down and was well served by the waiter and waitress there and the service was good too. Without waiting, we looked at the menu and there were actually not much choices as it serves mainly on Malaysian food (got western food also but limited) overall and the price was not cheap though and it was quite expensive. I've ordered Nasi Lemak with curry chicken and Kimmy ordered Char Kuey Teow. For drinks, I've ordered only a glass of water while Kimmy ordered a glass of Hot Milk. The price of the drinks there were pretty pricey and for me it's not worth it as an example, a glass of Ice Lemon Tea costs us about RM7 per glass and it's alsmost double up the price of a normal glass. If you are willing to pay for it, then you may go ahead.





The Nasi Lemak with curry chicken was rather superb tasty and nice. Besides the curry chicken, it contains some chicken floss, egg, rendang with ikan bilis as well as it was served with 'Azat' (in cantonese) with steamed rice and it was totally delicious. I was surprised with the Nasi Lemak served and it was a thousand times better than Old Town. I would say amazing but the price was a bit expensive. This plate costs about RM14.20 but for me, I will still say worth and willing to pay for it because it's nice and tasty. For Kimmy's Chay Kuey Teow, there's nothing special about it and overall it was nice too. The only thing that impressed me is that this Char Kuey Teow contains a lot of big prawns & squid. The price meanwhile was rather expensive. It costs about RM15.40 and it was 3-4 times more expensive then you eat outside. For the Hot Milk, Kimmy told alexleow-kimmy.com that it was purely fresh and nice to consume. The bill came and it costs about RM40.20 (Nasi Lemak, Char Kuey Teow & Hot Milk) for overall including tax.

I would recommend you to this place if you don't mind for the price of the food and drinks as it was pretty expensive overall. The Nasi Lemak & Nasi Bojari (haven't try before but it's their speciality) was a total recommendation for all of you when you come over here. Other than that, maybe it's not worth paying that much because the food is almost the same like outside and you will be paying 3-4 times more. You judge it! My Comments: Today is Sunday and I was very tired because I just got back from my company team building yesterday. But still me & Kimmy had planned for today outings which is going to Mid Valley Megamall to shopping. Besides shopping, me & her had planned to watch the 1st ever Malaysian movie that was purely 100% made in Malaysia. With MYFM and ASTRO deejays acting in this movie, it promises to its audiences to the best of its comedy and its storyline. Let's go straight to the comments. Besides Jack Lim, other MYFM or ASTRO deejays or broadcasters also shown their limelight and performed very well in this movie. Casts like Bernard Hiew, Gan Mei Yan, Vivien Tok, Yang Jia Sien & Royce Tan also did well in supporting this movie and it promises to its audience the first and best ever Chinese New Year movie around. The answer is YESSS! This movie was totally amazing and makes you laugh off your seat completely. The storyline was well capped (based on Malaysian Culture) as it contains some touching moments that could make you cry and the jokes are laughable as well. The Deejays and Broadcasters had did a very good job and shown their impressiveness on this movie and makes this movie really alive. If you love jokes and love to watch family story, this movie promises to kick start your new year in a loud bang! Welcome back to the latest edition of the TFP Solutions Berhad first edition of team building which was held at Awana Genting Highlands. It was a wonderful and nice team bulding as we get to hear management's view of its financial results, target or goals set for fiscal year 2010 as well as playing some games which would entertain us throughout the team building process.

About 70 of us turned out on this team building and it was a rather fun outings. The seminar was not rather boring as there were some jokes in it. But sometimes, speaking of the figure that the management had set for us, we felt a bit pressure to achieve it because we our sales / technical target much reach about 10 million and above for this year. Hopefully we can achieve on that.

The food served there was just average and it's totally a buffet style. I can't just imagine that I am so bored now while looking at the buffet food already because it had been almost the same menu. The view of Awana Genting was wonderful with its beautiful golf-course as well. We all looked very tired after the team building as we do not have enough sleep as well. Overall we did enjoy the outings and the seminars and looking forward for another wan next year.

News: Johor church ninth hit

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 14 — The St Elizabeth Catholic church in Kota Tinggi, Johor, was vandalised this morning, with red paint splashed on its walls. This makes it the ninth church hit by firebombs, arson attempts or vandalism in the past week. Kota Tinggi OCPD, Osman Mohamamed Sebot said the attack was discovered by church authorities at about 8.30am this morning. A police report was subsequently lodged. “The damage is minor. The paint was splattered at the front part of the church and also [on] partial parts of the entrance door,” Osman told The Malaysian Insider.

“We will step up security measures and increase patrolling time around the area to try and prevent similar incidents from recurring,” he said. Osman stressed that the police would launch a thorough investigation. He also urged members of the public with relevant information to come forward and assist the police in their investigation. Osman said the police should not be blamed for the continuing attacks.“We cannot say that, [as] the attack is done by a third party. But we will try our best to beef up security. We would also need cooperation from the church and other parties,” he said. Before today’s incident, eight Christian churches and a convent school in Selangor, Perak, Malacca, Negri Sembilan and Sarawak had been hit so far in the attacks following the Dec 31, 2009 High Court decision allowing the Catholic Church’s Herald to use the word “Allah.”

On Tuesday, a glass sliding door to the entrance of a Sikh Temple in Sentul here was found cracked from a barrage of stones, making it the first non-Christian house of worship hit since the controversial landmark “Allah” ruling. The Sikhs also use the term to describe God in their Punjabi language and had unsuccessfully sought to be part of the Roman Catholic Church’s legal suit to use the name, a move that has sparked the anger of Muslims in Malaysia who claim it is exclusive to them. So far, no one has claimed responsibility for the acts of violence and the authorities have urged the public not to speculate over the attacks. The worst hit church so far has been the Metro Tabernacle church here, which had its ground floor gutted last week. Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein has said the situation was under control and the attacks were isolated incidents. He also vowed to use the Internal Security Act (ISA), which allows for detention without trial, against those who stoke religious tension. Yesterday, Deputy Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar revealed that police now have a lead on the “physical attributes” of the suspects in last Friday’s firebombing attack on the Metro Tabernacle Church in Taman Desa Melawati here. World News: Thousands feared dead as major quake strikes Haiti

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Jan 13 – A major earthquake rocked Haiti, killing possibly thousands of people as it toppled the presidential palace and hillside shanties alike and leaving the poor Caribbean nation appealing for international help.

A five-story UN building was also brought down on Tuesday by the 7.0 magnitude quake, the most powerful to hit Haiti in more than 200 years according to the US Geological Survey.
Reuters television footage from the capital, Port-au-Prince, showed scenes of chaos on the streets with people sobbing and appearing dazed amid the rubble. It prompted a tsunami watch for parts the Caribbean, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre said yesterday. “Everything started shaking, people were screaming, houses started collapsing ... it’s total chaos,” Reuters reporter Joseph Guyler Delva said. “I saw people under the rubble, and people killed,” he added. The quake’s epicentre was only 16km from Port-au-Prince, which has a population of about one million, and aftershocks as powerful as 5.9 rattled the city throughout the night and into Wednesday. Reports on casualties and damage were slow to get out of Haiti due to communication problems.

As the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, Haiti is ill-equipped to respond to such a disaster. “I am appealing to the world, especially the United States, to do what they did for us back in 2008 when four hurricanes hit Haiti,” Raymond Alcide Joseph, Haiti’s ambassador to Washington, said in a CNN interview. “At that time the US dispatched ... a hospital ship off the coast of Haiti. I hope that will be done again ... and help us in this dire situation that we find ourselves in. I’m asking the Haitians who are abroad to work together and bring all the effort in a concerted manner to help those back home.” Sara Fajardo, a spokeswoman for Catholic Relief Services, told the Los Angeles Times that it’s representative in Haiti said the death toll could be in the thousands.

US President Barack Obama said his “thoughts and prayers” were with the people of Haiti and pledged immediate aid. A late-night White House meeting involving various arms of the government was held to co-ordinate the US response. The Inter-American Development Bank said it would provide $200,000 in immediate emergency aid. The World Bank, which said its local offices were destroyed but that most staff were accounted for, plans to send a team to help Haiti assess damage and plan a recovery. The US Coast Guard in Miami said it had mobilized cutters and aircraft to positions close to Haiti to give humanitarian assistance as needed.
The quake hit at 5pm (2200 GMT), and witnesses reported people screaming “Jesus, Jesus” running into the streets as offices, hotels, houses and shops collapsed. Experts said the quake’s epicentre was very shallow at a depth of only 10km, which was likely to have magnified the destruction. The presidential palace lay in ruins, its domes fallen on top of flattened walls. CNN reported on its website that Haitian Ambassador Joseph said President Rene Preval was safe, but gave no further details. Bloodied and dazed survivors gathered in the open and corpses were pinned by debris.

The United Nations said a large number of its personnel in Haiti were unaccounted for after a five-story building at the headquarters of the UN mission collapsed. “The whole city is in darkness. You have thousands of people sitting in the streets with nowhere to go,” said Rachmani Domersant, an operations manager with the Food for the
Poor charity. “There are people running, crying, screaming.”

LITTLE HELP FOR VICTIMS

In the hillside neighbourhood of Petionville, Domersant said he saw no police or rescue vehicles. “People are trying to dig victims out with flashlights,” he said. “I think hundreds of casualties would be a serious understatement.” Witnesses said they saw homes and shanties built on hillsides come tumbling down as the earth shook. “The car was bouncing off the ground,” Domersant said. UN officials said normal communications had been cut off and the only way to talk with people on the ground was via satellite phone. Roads were blocked by rubble. UN peacekeeping chief Alain Le Roy said the main UN building in Port-au-Prince had collapsed. “We don’t know how many people were in the building,” he told reporters. Some 9,000 UN police and troops are stationed there to maintain order. Le Roy’s deputy Edmond Mulet said 200 to 250 people worked in the building during normal hours. There were more houses destroyed than standing in Delmas Road, a major thoroughfare in Port-au-Prince, another Food for the Poor employee said. Lifestyle: DELL Inspiron MINI 10V

Finally it has arrived!

I have pre-ordered the DELL Inspiron MINI 10V for my girlfriend via telephone. The customer service was rather friendly and nice. I ordered the netbook since last week and it arrived approximately 1 week time. It was a very fast response from Dell as I am very satisfied with their service as well. I taught they will deliver the laptop on 16th January because they have written as Estimated Delivery Time. But I received it very early and finally I get it on Monday.

The laptop performance was just average because of its specifications. No doubt this laptop is running Intel Atom N280 processor, 1GB RAM with Windows 7 Starter Pack. The design meanwhile was nice and elegant and very suitable especially for girls. If you plan to buy it, just go ahead as the price is very reasonable as well. At only RM999, you can own this netbook already. Although the specs was not that powerful or good, but still it's very compact and easy to use and easily to bring here and there especially when you are travelling. MY RATING: 5/5

News: NS cops confirm eighth church attack

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 11 — The primarily East Malaysian Sidang Injil Borneo (SIB) church in Seremban, Negri Sembilan was attacked today with an arson attempt , leaving scorch marks on its front doors. The attack did not affect the church interior and was believed to have occurred early this morning. Rasah member of Parliament, Loke Siew Fook visited the church soon after and confirmed the incident. “The worship hall was not affected, the attack only affected the front door,” Loke told The Malaysian Insider.

Meanwhile, Negeri Sembilan deputy police chief Datuk Abd Manan Mohd Hassan said a team sent to the church had found signs of attempted arson. “A team of police officers, together with the forensic unit and the Fire and Rescue Department went to inspect the incident and found the front entrance door damaged. “We believe assailants used petrol to set fire to the door but fortunately, the fire did not spread,” he told reporters at the scene of the incident. He said police believe the incident took place between 1.30am and 8.30am as a police unit had patrolled the area at 1.30am and found everything in order. He added that he had directed all police patrol cars and all police officers on duty to monitor places of worship, especially mosques and churches, to ensure their safety. “I urge the people to stop such activities. Do not do anything that can disrupt peace and harmony of the country. We will take stern action against those found responsible,” he said.

The first church attack took place on Friday, amid dispute over the use of the word “Allah” by the Catholic Church’s Herald to refer to God in the Malay language. The SIB church conducts it service regularly in the national language. Both the government and opposition have moved to defuse tension, with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak announcing financial aid of RM500,000 for the worst hit church — the Metro Tabernacle. Food Hunt: Home Made Fish Head Noodle, Sunway Damansara

Hello folks!

It's time again for yet another Food Hunt edition of 2010 and this time we had planned to look out for food around Sunway Damansara area. The reason is because we just done with our shopping in The Curve which is nearby the area. Then, once we reach Sunway Damansara, we looked our for food and finally we have entered this pretty unique "Green" restaurant named Home Made Fish Head Noodle.

Once we sat down, the waitress quickly brought in their menu whereby there are not much people in the restaurant because it's already dinner time and we predict that not many people will eat Fish Head Noodle. Not only Fish Head Noodle is served here but there are also rice other noodles serve as well. From what I heard, during the afternoon session, this restaurant is packed with people. So without hesitation, I looked at the menu and I was very tempted to try out their Fish Head Noodles.

I have ordered Fish Paste with Yee Mee with soup (with milk) and Kimmy ordered Assam Fish Claypot Rice (see pictures). For drinks, I've ordered Ice Lemon Blackcurrent and Kimmy ordered Carrot Milk. Let me comment on my Fish Paste with Yee Mee. The soup was very tasty (with milk) and the yee mee too was nice. There were 5 pieces of Fish Paste given on one bowl of mee and overall, it's very tasty. It suits my taste. Kimmy tried mine too and she felt it was nice too. Very worth of trying. The Ice Lemon Blackcurrent meanwhile is also very nice and I can feel the soda blackurrent taste and it was very nice. Thumbs up to both of the items I've ordered. Kimmy's Assam Fish Claypot Rice was otherwise. She told me that it sucks big time and the assam fish was totally tasteless and there were not sour nor spicy as well. I've tried it too and I felt the same too. I am wondering how can this dish serve to customers because of its taste! OMG! Well, if you are there, please do not order the Assam Fish Claypot Rice. Bout the carrot milk, Kimmy said it was nice as it is not too sweet and just nice for a healthy drink. The price meanwhile is pretty expensive too but still worth of money if it's nice. My bowl of Fish Paste with Yee Mee with soup costs about RM8.90 and Kimmy's Assam Fish Claypot Rice costs about RM9.50. Drinks meanwhile costs RM4.90 (Ice Lemon Blackcurrent) and RM3.90 (Carrot Milk).

I would recommend you to this restaurant but limited to Fish Head Noodles only because of its specialities. If you are a big fan of Fish Head Noodles, then this place is definately suits you and I believe you would enjoy its Fish Head Mee big time. Come and try it and see the difference! Enjoy! News: Miri church attack makes it seven

RAWANG, Jan 10 – A stone was thrown against a church in Miri today, making it the seventh attack in three days that is linked to the “Allah” ruling which has provoked Muslim anger. Earlier reports of an arson attack proved to be unfounded. This is the first reported attack in East Malaysia where a large part of the population are Christians who worship in Bahasa Malaysia and also the ruling Barisan Nasional’s “fixed deposit” of votes and parliamentary seats in Election 2008.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein confirmed the attempt but insisted the situation in the country is under control. “The situation is under control and the people should not be worried. They should not be influenced by internet reports or text messages,” he told reporters at an Umno event here. Four churches in the Klang Valley were hit by petrol bombs on Friday while one was hit last night in Taiping. A Malacca church reported it was splashed with black paint while a priest in Penang had his car splashed with red paint. A convent school in Taiping was also the target of an attempt with petrol bombs found near its guardhouse overnight. Church authorities believe it was meant for the St Louis Church next door.

Hishammuddin reminded the people not to be influenced by foreign and internet media reports as these could be inaccurate and project the country as unstable. He said the ministry would brief foreign envoys on the actual situation “We have to brief the international community as we have our citizens out there who want to know the actual situation which has been played up by certain quarters, including what is taken from the Internet,” he said.
