Lifestyle: Shell Fuelsave 95

Dear All,

Now it's time for me to review the Shell Fuelsave 95. Many had known that Shell petrol stations are everywhere and you can easily find it no matter in major highways or in trunk roads to villages. Now, let me do a short review of this fuel. From my previous review, I would say Shell Fuelsave fuel is the worst fuel among all but one fine day where I received a feedback from my friend insisting that Shell fuel have improved tremendously if compared to last time. It has the power and can evenly match BHPetrol as for now but still not as good as BHPetrol. The pickup and speed was good to be true and then the engine sound is much quieter than BHPetrol this time. If you are a Shell basher like me last time, give it a try now and then experience the fun drive with Shell this time. You will never regret. For fuel saving, I think it's better fuel savings than BHPetrol and more better than Petronas. Now my rating of fuel (RON 95 only) based on my testing had been changed and as follows:

1.) BHPetrol Infiniti Advance 2X
2.) Shell Fuelsave 95
3.) Petronas Primax 95 Xtra
4.) Caltex with Techron
5.) Petron

Hope this give u a very good guide and the rating above is based on good response / power to low response / power. Enjoy your ride folks. MY SHELL RATING: 4.5/5

Review: If you are here at this restaurant, do try out the famous Chicken Rice. It's a stall setup. During weekdays, this stall will be very packed and crowded including weekends but during weekdays, the crowd will be less but still packed. If you plan to take away, be prepared to wait at least 30 minutes as the queue will be very long too. If you chose to dine in there, you also have to wait for about 30 minutes. The roasted chicken is very nice, tender and juicy as well. It comes together with a soup as well. The price is not too expensive (RM5.00) per plate. You can too mix with Roasted Pork and you have to pay extra. Check it out! A good place to eat during lunch time! MY RATING: 5/5

Apple Assamboi (RM4.50)
Nasi Goreng Special (RM8.00)

Review: This restaurant serves one of the famous Indonesian Food around town. I went into this restaurant with a bunch of my colleagues and we try out the food over there. Once you step into the restaurant, all of the waiter or waitress will greet you with "Selamat Datang, Selamat Pagi LELA" and while you are going off they will say "Terima Kasih , Selamat Jalan". The choices of food is quite limited but the type of food serves does matter as it's quite special where we could not find it in Malaysia. My colleague ordered the Set Lele (RM10.50) and Set Ayam (RM10.80) respectively and find both of the meal is nice and satisfying too. I've ordered the Nasi Goreng Special (RM8.00) and it was so nice and special too. It has some crackers and some fried fish accompanied by a fried egg on top of the rice too. The rice has butter flavour and it makes the rice super nice and tasty. For drinks, do try out the Apple Assamboi (RM4.50) as the apple is freshly made and it's super nice too. The price is reasonable and not too expensive. I would strongly recommend you to come over and try it as it's one of the best Indonesian Food can be found here at Kota Kemuning. ________________________________________________________

My Comments: It was a great outing today between ME & Kimmy where we spend our weekend shopping at Paradigm Mall and in the same time go to watch movie as well. The movie we have chosen this time would be Star Trek, Into Darkness movie. We watch this movie at GSC Paradigm Mall. This movie is back once again since 2009 where it's famous director J.J Abrams are back once again with his famous directing of this movie. Would this movie be better than the previous one. The answer is yes! I would say this 2nd chapter of Star Trek would be more action and more suspense compared to the first chapter. Starring the same actor and actress such as Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana and Simon Pegg, this movie returns to be more stronger with a better plot and action.

The storyline meanwhile is very good and promising with a lot of twist and turns. You would never know who's the traitor of the Federation until the story goes on and then you manage to find it out yourself. It has a well balanced about the government, politics, friendship & couple conflicts. It has about 85% of action throughout the movie and it was simply fascinating to watch as well. The storyline tells about how James Kirk and the crew try to find out the traitor who allegedly trying to destroy the USS Enterprise and the story goes on till the end. Can they survive and find the traitor? You have to watch this movie to find out of course. In conclusion, Abrams has again created a film that lives up to its hype that successfully escapes the sequel curse that too many films have encountered. "Star Trek Into Darkness" is a blast to watch, literally and figuratively; viewers and fans will not remember it for its fun, humourous or heart-tugging moments, but its tenacity in firing up the Kirk-Spock ship, Cumberbatch's portrayal of a well-known villain and the spectacular visuals. Whether Abrams returns for a third instalment or not, the "Star Trek" film franchise is left in a good place. I would strongly recommend you to watch this movie whether you are a Star Trek fan or not. Truly, I hope that there's a third installment coming up. MY RATING: 5/5 (PERFECT) ; KIMMY RATING: 4/5

My Review: It's my first time watching the Star Trek movie and guess what I found yet another excellent movie and worth to watch as it has the so called 'kick' as Star Wars. This movie talks about government, politics, friendship & couple conflict. The war begins at the Galaxy as humans battle in between where there's conflicts in the federation. The good & bad fighting each other to claim their rights. It was an action packed movie as well as several suspense scenes can be found on this movie. With the famous director J.J. Abrams, his direction and the storyline is simply superb as you can see how he twist and turn the storyline into perfection and we understand clearly what he is trying to present to its audience. With the strong supporting actor and actress such as Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Leonard Nimoy and many more, this movie is definitely a movie to catch if you have not. After you watch this movie, then you can proceed to watch the continuous episode of Star Trek which is Star Trek: Into Darkness which just released in 2013. A great movie to start with before proceeding to another chapter. If you like fantasy and galaxies movies, then this is is just right and suitable for you. Enjoy! MY RATING: 5/5 (PERFECT)

Politics: GE13: It’s 133 for BN and 89 for Opposition

PETALING JAYA: Barisan Nasional won 133 parliamentary seats at the 13th general election to record a slightly reduced performance compared to 2008, but it managed to wrest Kedah from Pakatan Rakyat. The ruling coalition failed to regain Selangor and Penang but retained Perak with a slim three-seat majority, due to what Barisan chairman Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak described as a “Chinese tsunami”.

As at press time, the results for two parliamentary seats had yet to be announced. While peninsula Malay and bumiputra voters from Sabah and Sarawak mostly kept their faith in Barisan Nasional, Chinese voters rewarded Pakatan Rakyat - particularly the DAP, which won 38 seats, an increase of nine compared to the 29 seats it won in 2008. The Opposition won 89 seats. MCA saw its tally of seats reduced to seven from the 15 it held.

“There was a tsunami among the Chinese community which supported the Opposition,” Najib said during a press conference at Barisan headquarters in PWTC. Najib also noted the racial polarisation in the voting trend, and said that this could lead to conflicts in society if it was not dealt with.
“Therefore, we will undertake a process of national reconciliation so we can set aside any extremism and communalism with policies based on moderation.” The much anticipated increase in support by Indian voters appeared to have been muted with MIC winning four parliamentary seats, the same number which the party held going into the polls. The sentiments of Malay voters were mixed but there appeared to have been a shift towards Barisan that helped to off-set some of the erosion in the level of Chinese support. For Pakatan, PAS saw its tally of parliament seats reduced to 21 from 23 while PKR won 28 seats, up from 23 in 2008.

Najib with other Barisan members celebrate the party's victory in the general election. Najib with other Barisan members celebrate the party's victory in the general election.

Barisan's weaker performance compared to the 138 parliament seats it won in the last general election is likely to be the focus of the coalition's election post-mortem. The outcome is also expected to feature prominently at the internal party elections scheduled later this year for Barisan component parties. Najib thanked voters for their support of the coalition to continue to lead the country. “I hope for the sake of the country that all sides, especially the Opposition, will accept this decision with an open heart and allow the democratic process to proceed smoothly. “The will of the people must be respected. There have been several improvements made to the election process,” he said.
The Barisan chairman reaffirmed that all pledges in the Barisan manifesto would be fulfilled. Source: The Star Malaysia

_______________________________________________________

My Comments: It was an election day where ME & Kimmy had eventually take a break after the general election where we spend the rest of the day at One Utama and then in the same time to catch the movie at our favourite cinema TGV Cinema at 1 Utama. We have watched the most anticipated Marvel movie which is the Iron Man 3. This movie is one of the most anticipated movie of the year after The Avengers that came out last year. Iron Man 3 casts features the famous Robert Downey Jr, Ben Kingsley as well as Don Cheadle and Guy Pearce. To tell you truth, the storyline is simple, easy to understand and I must say it's lack of full action packed scenes. Only a few actions that can be seen but of course it can be considered as above average. This time around, Irom Man 3 had become more and more advance and stronger where he himself can now control the Iron Man structure / suit and fight on behalf instead of wearing the Iron Man suit.

The story talks about Mandarin, his enemy who is a world leading terrorist and Iron Man needs to hunt him down to avoid from killing the US President. As the story build up, at first it was pretty boring until the middle till the end of the movie where you can actions but still limited. If you are a big fan of Iron Man and big fan of Marvel Comic, this movie is just for you and of course many modifications had been done and it's slightly different from the comic books. I would still recommend you this movie as it's nice and great too. Lots of future technologies we can look forward too through this movie as well and you will simply love it. Enjoy! MY RATING: 4/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 5/5

Politics: Polling Centres Open for voting. It's Showdown Time!

PETALING JAYA: Malaysians head to the ballot box today to elect representatives to the Dewan Rakyat and state legislative assemblies in what has been described as the most hard fought general election in the country's history. The 13.3 million registered voters include a record 2.4 million first-timers, many of them believed to be fence-sitters whom Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Rakyat have strived to woo during 15 days of intense campaigning that ended at the stroke of midnight.
Gen-Y voters, generally defined as those under the age of 40, are also a major force, making up 42% of the electorate or four out of every 10 voters. There were 146,181 overseas and local postal voters and 235,826 military and police personnel eligible to cast their ballots on April 28 and 30 respectively.

Voting for the 222 parliamentary and 505 state seats will be conducted at 8,789 polling centres nationwide that will be open from 8am to 5pm. Election Commission chairman Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof said the first results are expected at about 7.30pm. He said the EC would issue updates on voter turnout percentages and will make an announcement as soon as either Barisan or Pakatan wins 112 seats in the Dewan Rakyat to form the Federal Government. “When it is clear that a party has a clear majority, the leader of that party will seek an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong to form the Federal Government, or with the Sultan or Governor in the case of a state government,” Abdul Aziz said, explaining the process of swearing in the Prime Minister and Mentris Besar or Chief Ministers.

The EC will upload real time results and all other announcements on its two websites www.spr.gov.my and www.pru13.gov.my.  Abdul Aziz advised voters to check in advance where they are required to cast their ballots. Voters can get information on their polling centre, stream number and electoral roll serial number at the two EC websites or via SMS by typing SPR (space) SEMAK (space) Mykad number before sending it to 15888 or 29292 (Celcom), 33080 or 22789 (Maxis) and 33080 (Digi).

Politics: Final Verdict GE-13, who will stand out as winners?

By Alex Leow Sze Shen

Welcome back everyone!

It's once again our rights to vote yet again and we Malaysians will be heading for the polls on 5th May 2013. The country's most anticipated event for all Malaysians to walk out to vote no matter rain or shine. And I have to say among all the Elections, the GE-13 would be the most fierce and the most tightly contested General Election of all times.

On papers, most of the Rakyat are unhappy with the Barisan Nasional policy and many had vowed to change. What Barisan Nasional had done? Barisan Nasional had eventually done a lot of mistakes in the past where a few negative factors had haunted them such as No.1 country in the world that's involved in Corruption, giving free IC's to Sabah people, hike in cost of living and burder the Rakyat and many more. Of course, we live in fear under the Basiran Nasional ruling which consists of MCA, MIC and UMNO. I would not elaborate more on this issue but just to highlight some important points about it.

For me, what PR had done although they are not the federal government. Having wrest 5 states in the previous general elections except Perak whom Barisan Nasional had eventually taken over (not legally) from them with Kelantan, Penang, Kedah and Selangor are equally doing well and manage to treat their Rakyat better. A big achievement for Pakatan Rakyat led states.

On paper, Pakatan Rakyat can toppled the Barisan Nasional Government to wrest Putrajaya from them but anything can happen before the final whistle. I would predict Pakatan Rakyat to win with 140 Parliamentary Seats compared to BN with 82 seats only. Many questions will be asked including will there be any phantom voters during the election day? Will Bangladesh or other foreigners able to vote on election day? If there's is, this would be a very dirty election indeed and we definitely do not want to see that. The best General Election ever to watch and stay tuned to alexleow-kimmy.com and Alex Leow Sze Shen Facebook Page for the Election Results tomorrow. May the best party wins!

Food Hunt: Brilliant Nasi Lemak House (亿香饮食馆), Kepong

Dear All,

Welcome back to yet another edition of Food Hunt where today ME & Kimmy had gone for lunch and this time around, we have selected Brilliant Nasi Lemak House located at Kepong to have our lunch. It's a beautiful Labour Day's holiday and we are here today for our lunch. Of course, the signature dish over here would be the Nasi Lemak. The restaurant was particularly crowded especially during the lunch and dinner time. Not only serves their signature Nasi Lemak, they also serves mee and other rice dishes as well. It's just like a cafe typed restaurant.

We manage to find the seat although the restaurant is almost full. We reached the restaurant at around 12.00pm and it was crowded. We sat down and then were shown the menu. We can see a lot of varieties of Nasi Lemak dishes including other mee and rice dishes. You can customize your Nasi Lemak where to add 1, 2 or 3 dishes on top of the Nasi Lemak such as Pork Rendang, Curry Nyonya Chicken, Squid, Beef and Fried Chicken. These customization is depending on individuals and on different prices. Both of us ordered the Nasi Lemak with 2 Combinations (RM11.80) each.

1.) Nasi Lemak with Pork Rendang & Squid
2.) Nasi Lemak with Nyonya Curry Chicken & Squid

For Drinks, both of us ordered the Ambarella Sour Plum (RM3.00) each. It does not take very long for the Nasi Lemak to arrive and we only waited for about 10 minutes despite a packed restaurant. The Nasi Lemak with Pork Rendang & Squid is wonderful and very nice indeed. The sambal of the Nasi Lemak is spicy and very nice indeed. The Pork Rendang is a must try as the taste of the rendang is superb and the pork is soft and easy to chew. About the Nyonya Curry Chicken, the taste is just nice and worth of trying but still Pork Rendang is our recommendation. The squid meanwhile is nice and the owner is quite generous in giving a large squid for us and the sambal taste on top of the squid is simply awesome too. Next is the Ambarella Sour Plum, it's also nice to drink as well. The taste is simply awesome and very recommended to order.

The total we pay is RM29.60 and the good news is this restaurant never charge its customer with any service charge nor government tax. If you are craving for any Nasi Lemak, do come over here to Kepong to try out their Nasi Lemak and you will leave the restaurant is smile. It has several branches including the one in Kota Damansara, Bandar Puteri & Kuchai Lama. Do checkout their Facebook Page below. Enjoy your meal!
