Food Hunt: Bread Basket Bakery, Kota Kemuning, Shah Alam

Dear All,

Welcome back to yet another edition of Food Hunt. Today is Sunday and it's been a while where ME, Alan & Kimmy had a chance to gather together to have dinner for tonight. It's a lovely Sunday night and the reason 3 of us managed to gather together is because Alan is going for a business trip to Japan and before departure, we manage to have dinner together.

We had chosen Bread Basket Bakery located at Kota Kemuning as I've tried once before and this is the second time that I'm here. We reach the restaurant at around 7.00pm and the the crowd is just average. Once it reaches around 8.00pm, the bakery started to fill with large crowds. Frankly, the seats available is not sufficient to cater a lot of people and it has to extend outside the bakery. Once we sat down, we were immediately served with the menu. By looking at the menu, you will feel pretty tempted as it serves a wide range of food ranging from our local food to the Western Food.

It took us about 15 minutes to look at the menu and to decide what to try because we are pretty cautious to select which food is good. Kimmy had chosen Tom Yam Seafood with Rice (RM9.00) with Ice Peach Tea (RM3.50) while I've chosen Claypot Yee Mee (RM9.00) with a glass of Ice Lemon Tea (RM3.50). For Alan, he ordered Spaghetti Olio Cheese Prawn (RM14.90) together with a glass of Ice Lemon Tea (RM3.50) as well. Once we ordered, it took the food about 10 minutes to come to us and I would say the service is pretty fast. Once the food arrived, we immediately eat it without wasting our time.

The food meanwhile was par below our expectations. Let's talk bout Kimmy's Tom Yam Seafood With Rice. The portion is pretty small and the Tom Yam soup was so terrible as it was too sour and it was too spicy as well. Once Kimmy try it, it was a huge disappointment as ME & Alan also took a chance to try out the soup as well. For the Ice Peach Tea, it has a great taste. For my Claypot Yee Mee, it was indeed a huge disappointment as well and it was absolutely terrible. The soup was tasteless and awwww shucks! I've nothing to comment but left so disappointing. For the Ice Lemon Tea, it was good indeed. For Alan's Spaghetti Olio Cheese Prawn, it was just average and still acceptable. You can try out this dish but do not put high hopes on this as well. I would also like to comment that on my previous visit where I've ordered Nasi Lemak Ayam Rendang (RM8.90) and this dish is good and recommended to you. Before I forget, after your meal, you will be served a scoop of Ice Cream for Free Of Charge. The taste of the ice-cream meanwhile was good and it refreshes our mood after the terrible food.

Overall, the food looks pretty sucks except certain food that are delicious only. I did seek my friends advice and he told alexleow-kimmy.com that this restaurant is famous for its sandwich, bread and its desserts and drinks. It pretty delicious as well but for other dishes, it was just so-so to average only. Now I believe what he says and in the menu, there's a hand sign showing good meaning that's their signature dish and you should try it out. The price of its portion doesn't really look impressive as it was expensive as the portion is pretty small overall. The bill came and overall it costs us about RM43.40 and it's not worth and value for money although there's no government nor service tax. You judge yourself. I would recommend you to come over here but DO NOT try the food stated above. Remember, go for recommended food located at the menu. MY RATING: 3/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 2/5; ALAN RATING: 3/5

* Food & Drinks Rating are based on the food & drinks we've ordered and not overall Food & Drinks.
