My Comments: On a lovely Sunday evening, ME & Kimmy had visited The Curve and e@Curve at Damansara for windows shopping and eventually we had decided to watch movie there as well at Cathay Cineplex Damansara. We had chosen this movie What Woman Want starring the famous Andy Lau and Gong Li. This movie is definitely a romantic movie and it's out in conjunction with the Valentines Day. Some say this movie is nice but some comments otherwise. For me, I think this movie is just average. The storyline is easy to understand although this movie is not so logic as it contains some science fictions. The storyline meanwhile was good constructed but there are certain times the movie are pretty bored especially at the middle of the movie and I think there's too much flaws as well as crappy and should cut to make things easier. Since this movie is also a comedy, there's nothing much to laugh for as it was not really funny as it focus heavily on the love relationship. I've got nothing much to comment on this movie as the actor Andy Lau and Gong Li performed well in this movie and I would still recommend you to watch this movie but don't put too much hope in it. Just watch to pass time perhaps! MY RATING: 3/5; KIMMY RATING: 3/5.

Soccer: Arsenal 1 Birmingham 2 (Carling Cup Final)

Martins the hero for Blues

Scoring Summary

Arsenal Birmingham
Robin Van Persie (39')Nikola Zigic (28')

Obafemi Martins (89')

Arsenal's six-year quest for a trophy goes on after Birmingham snatched a dramatic last-minute winner from substitute Obafemi Martins in a 2-1 victory in the Carling Cup final at Wembley.

Former Newcastle striker Martins swept home after a terrible mix-up between goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny and centre-half Laurent Koscielny.

It was, though, no more than the Blues deserved following a battling display as Arsenal, without injured captain Cesc Fabregas and England winger Theo Walcott, once more failed to deliver when it mattered most.

Nikola Zigic had headed Birmingham in front after 28 minutes, but Robin van Persie equalised with a fine volley.

The Arsenal fightback, though, failed to materialise as Arsene Wenger's men could not make the most of their possession and were dealt a killer blow when Szczesny spilled Zigic's knockdown after Koscielny's mis-kick and Martins slotted home in front of the Blues fans to send the Midlands club into Europe.

Arsenal were crestfallen at the final whistle, but Arsene Wenger must now lift his side for an FA Cup fifth-round replay against Leyton Orient before the return leg of their Champions League last-16 clash against Barcelona to ensure another season which promises so much does not fail to deliver.

There was something of a sense of justice being done after a poor offside call inside the opening two minutes should have seen Arsenal reduced to 10 men and Birmingham awarded a penalty.

Lee Bowyer ran from behind the last defender onto Craig Gardner's pass before rounding Szczesny, who brought him down. However, instead the assistant's flag went up and the Gunners went unpunished.

Arsenal slowly started to find their passing game as Andrey Arshavin's shot was blocked by Ben Foster.

Samir Nasri then weaved through three markers into the right side of the Birmingham box, but fired into the side netting.

The Blues looked to unsettle Arsenal in possession, and Martin Jiranek made a fine tackle as Arshavin broke down the left.

The Gunners, not for the first time, found themselves trying to break down two banks of four as Birmingham settled into a disciplined rearguard action.

Some careless possession, though, saw Birmingham break and Koscielny had to be alert to head the ball behind after it was swung into the Arsenal penalty by Keith Fahey.

It proved costly as from the resulting corner, Zigic nodded the Blues in front after Roger Johnson headed the ball back into the six-yard box.

Arsenal almost responded immediately when van Persie sent a flying header over the bar from Bacary Sagna's cross.

Giant Serbia striker Zigic almost doubled the Blues' lead when Gardner touched the ball through from the edge of the box, but this time Szczesny was out quickly to make a smart block.

Arsenal were rattled, with Johan Djourou heading over his own crossbar, but after weathering the storm they were level after 39 minutes.

Wilshere broke quickly down the centre and when the ball came back to him at the edge of penalty area, the England midfielder crashed a 20-yard effort against the crossbar.

Arshavin picked up the rebound, turning it back into the six-yard box where van Persie volleyed the ball into the left-hand corner.

The Dutchman then needed treatment after kicking Roger Johnson's leg in the process of scoring, and jarring his knee.

Fortunately for Arsenal, with the return leg against Barcelona less than two weeks away, Van Persie, skipper in Fabregas' absence, was soon back in the action.

The Gunners continued on the offensive going into the break, and Nasri's 25-yard effort was well saved by Foster.

Tomas Rosicky almost put Arsenal ahead at the start of the second half when he arrived late at the edge of the area onto a Bacary Sagna cross, but his volley flew just wide.

Despite all of their possession, Arsenal were almost undone again when Fahey crashed a 20-yard effort against the inside of the post.

As the hour mark passed, Birmingham continued to disrupt Arsenal's flow in midfield.

Arsenal withdrew van Persie, perhaps as a precaution, in the 70th minute, replacing him with Nicklas Bendtner, who enjoyed a productive loan spell at Birmingham in the 2006/07 campaign.

Nasri's shot was blocked by Foster following a quick Arsenal counter-attack, with the Birmingham keeper then denying Bendtner.

Foster was in action again to claw away Nasri's 25-yard effort.

However, disaster struck for Arsenal with just a minute left when Zigic's knockdown was spilled by Szczesny as Koscielny missed his clearance.

Substitute Martins swept the loose ball into an empty net to secure a famous victory for Birmingham and prolong Wenger's quest for a trophy. Source: ESPN Soccernet 27/2/2011

Food Hunt: Restoran Niji Sushi, Bandar Manjarala (Part 2)

Dear All,

Welcome back to yet another marathon of the Food Hunt and today it's a lovely Saturday evening where ME & Kimmy had decided to go for Japanese Food and we had chosen Niji Sushi Restaurant as our choice this evening. This restaurant serves the best Japanese Food in Kepong area and you should come and try it.

The place is very crowded especially during the weekends and you will have a tough time looking for seats as well. The crowd starting to pour in as early after 6.30pm. We reach there around 7.30pm and the restaurant is already full. Luckily we need to wait for 2 queues before our turn. We had waited for about 15 minutes before we are served. Then, once we sat down, we were immediately served with the menu and we briefly look at the menu. The choices are pretty much to choose from and we are happy to see the menu as well. The menu looked pretty tempted but we can't order too much to eat as well.

It took us about 10 minutes for us to decide what to eat and finally I've chosen Chicken Udon (RM8.90) for my main course while Kimmy had chosen Tempura Udon (RM9.90) as her main course. For side orders like sushi, we've ordered a plate of Ebikko (RM4.00), Spider Inari (RM4.50) and California Temaki (RM4.50) as well. For drinks, we've ordered 2 cup of Green Tea (RM1.30 per cup). The food looks very delicious and I kept my patience while waiting for the food to arrive as it took about 45 minutes for the udon mee to arrive due to the crowd. For the side sushi dishes, it took about 10 minutes to arrive and it was pretty fast.

Ebikko, California Temaki & Spider Inari

Ebikko & California Temaki

Chicken Udon

Tempura Udon

The Chicken Udon was great and nice. It's even more nicer if you mix with the chili flakes that was provided upon arrival of the udon mee. You may also add the oil if you felt it's not tasty enough. The udon mee was very soft and smooth and overall the dish is nice. The portion of the Chicken meanwhile was a lot too and it was very filling as well. Meanwhile for Kimmy's Tempura Udon, it was the same either as what I taste and it was great and nice. The portion of the Tempura (Prawn) was large in size and worth to eat as well. For the sushi's such as Ebikko and Spider Inari, the taste was great too. You should try it out. The California Temaki meanwhile was good but the portion is pretty small. I would say other sushi outlets temaki's are better than made by Niji.

Overall, the bill came and it's pretty satisfying as well as the price including service charges of 5% would be RM36.00. With the food we ate and the portion that we get, it was very satisfying indeed and I bet, you will never get this special prices elsewhere especially when you are sitting on a fully air-conditioned restaurant. Even other famous sushi's outlets are slightly quite expensive than Niji. I would recommend you to come over here and try out the food over here as it was nice. Enjoy! MY RATING: 5/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 5/5

Food Hunt: Restoran Spring Golden (阳光烧腊专门店), Taman Sri Muda, Shah Alam

Dear all,

My Food Hunt journey continues when ME & Alan today had gone for a haircut at Pandan Indah in Kuala Lumpur and finally we had came into a conclusion that it's lunch hour again and we kept thinking on where to go. Then I have made a good decision to bring my brother Alan Leow to Shah Alam near Taman Sri Muda to try out the best kept secret 'Char Siew' (Roasted Pork) in Shah Alam. The restaurant name is called Spring Golden.

We reached the restaurant at about 12.15pm and the crowd was pretty little. This is due to weekends where during weekdays, a lot of people came to the restaurant to eat the 'Char Siew' as their working lunch break. But for weekends, you still could see lots of people pouring in but there's still place to sit but that's after 1.00pm. We've ordered a plate for 2 persons of 'Char Siew' mix with Roasted Chicken. We've also ordered the Glass Fresh Vegetables (translate in Cantonese please) For drinks, we've ordered Cincau Ice.

The aroma of the Char Siew taste was simply superb and wonderful. It's called the Glass 'Char Siew' in cantonese and once you eat on it as you bite it, you will feel the juiciness of the 'Char Siew' that melts inside your mouth and it was simply irresistible. The roasted chicken meanwhile was nice too but their specialty here is definitely the 'Char Siew'. If you would love more variety, you can mix like what we did. The Glass Fresh Vegetables meanwhile was great and it was really fresh and nice to eat. Overall, I love the 'Char Siew' and the food over there and most importantly is their chili sauce where it was simply perfect too. I would strongly recommend you to come over to try out the so called Best Kept Secret 'Char Siew' in Shah Alam and it's worth to make a ride down here to taste the great food here. Enjoy! Food Hunt: Umami House Of Steamboat, Sunway Mentari, Bandar Sunway

Hello All,

Welcome back to yet another week full of Food Hunt as ME & my colleagues were in hunt for some food right here at the Sunway - Shah Alam area. And as for today, we have decided to go for a potluck which was postponed until today due to some unforeseen circumstances. We have got 8 persons attended today including Gina, Wei Wen, Wei Wen's Wife, ME, Alex Chew, Chris Ling and Tracy Teng. It was supposed to be held somewhere during the Chinese New Year period. Without any hesitation, we have chosen Umami House Of Steamboat as our choice at Sunway Mentari at Bandar Sunway. It's a steamboat buffet style that also come with a BBQ seafood as well.

We reach there around 7.00pm and there's less crowd at the restaurant until half pass seven where the crowd started to come in. It was merely full after 8.00pm. Let's go straight to the food comments. The most important thing of the steamboat buffet is the soup that would determined the taste of the overall taste. We've ordered Herbal Soup and Tom Yam soup but we are extremely disappointing as the soup that came to us is actually Herbal Soup and 'Ma Lat' (Extra Spicy) Soup. We try to consult the waiter over there and say that this is not the Tom Yam soup but she insists that it's the Tom Yam Soup. To change the soup, we are charged RM5.00. We are very unhappy with their service.

The food ingredients meanwhile are pretty fresh and not bad too. There are a lot of variety to choose from and I get to eat lots of seafood including crabs, prawns, clams etc. Besides, there were also fried chicken and other snacks that suits your for your desserts as well. The soup was extremely disappointing. The Herbal Soup was extremely salty while the Extra Spicy (Ma Lat) Soup was also very salty. We have to ask the waitress to add in water for us so that it would not be that spicy. There are lots of choices of Ice Cream as well and the taste was good too. I took 2 cups of Ice Cream that day to 'wash' my mouth because of the saltiness of the soup. It would be more fantastic if your ice-cream is added with tiny peanuts. The BBQ seafood meanwhile was pretty good that suits my taste. For my colleague Gina, she said the BBQ Seafood was not nice as it contains urine taste but for me I felt it was OK and nice to eat.

Overall the bill came and it totalled to RM210.00 for 7 persons including government and service tax. For per person, it was pretty expensive (RM28.00 per person) as other steamboat buffet restaurant charge about RM19.00 - RM23.00 per person only. I would not recommend you to the restaurant to try it out mainly because of their soup although the ingredients are pretty fresh. Frankly, the soup really sucks and I vowed not to go back there again to try it. If you still would like to go for fresh seafood or food, then you may go for it and it was good too. Enjoy! MY RATING: 3/5

Food Hunt: Restoran Mee Papan (巨木板面), Kota Kemuning, Shah Alam

Dear All,

Welcome back to yet another edition of Food Hunt. Today is Wednesday and I had lunch with my colleague, Wei Wen at Restoran Mee Papan located at Kota Kemuning. We reach there at about 1.00pm and the restaurant is really packed with people and we had difficulties finding seats over there. We need to wait for about 15 minutes later, then only we are able to get out seat.

Once we sat down, the menu being served to us and we take a look at the menu. Their specialty here is actually Pan Mee served with dry or with soup. Without any hesitation, since my first time being here, I've ordered the Dry Pan Mee (Fresh Flour Noodle) (RM5.50) while my colleague ordered Pan Mee Soup (RM5.50). For drinks, I've ordered Coca Cola (RM2.60) while Wei Wen ordered nothing for drinks.

Once the dry pan mee arrived, I was amazed by the fragrance of the mee and before I eat, I would have predicted that this would be a good one. Once I tasted it, it was amazing and the taste was simply great! I love the sweet and juiciness of the dry pan mee tossed in sweet dark soya sauce and most importantly the mee was so smooth and nice to eat. This is also their specialty. So when you are there, you MUST try the dry pan mee. For the Soup Pan Mee, the taste was great too. The soup was great and a must try according to my colleague Wei Wen.

The bill came and it's around RM14.00 for 2 person and they did not impose any government or service tax. The price was pretty reasonable but the portion is pretty small compared to the normal pan mee selling outside. But the quality of the food was simply amazing and we'll love it to the max! So, pan mee lovers, this is a new place to come over and have a try of yourself and I can guarantee you'll love it. Enjoy! MY RATING: 5/5 ; WEI WEN RATING: 5/5

Food Hunt: Restoran Lan Je (蘭姐清蒸非洲鱼), Desa Aman Puri (Branch)

Hello All,

Welcome back to yet another edition of Food Hunt and today ME & Kimmy's family had visited Restoran Lan Je right here at Desa Aman Puri to eat the steamed fish which is very popular among the KL people lately. The steamed Fish (Tilapia Fish) is the fish I am talking here as it was a real hit. This is a branch outlet and it opened on October 2010 last year.

We reached the restaurant at about 8.15pm and the crowd was just moderate since it was a weekday. We ordered 5 dishes for 5 persons to eat. We had a great time eating there and upon arrival of the food, I felt that the food was marvelous and superb especially the Tilapia Steamed Fish. We ordered 2 plates of fishes followed by Fried 'Wan Tan', 'Belacan Kangkung' and Sweet & Sour Pork Ball.

The Tilapia Fish was absolutely great and nice to eat. Love it from the first bite although it had been a long time I did not eat it since the one in Kota Damansara Branch last time. Very recommended to try. The Fried 'Wan Tan' meanwhile was very nice too provided you eat it with the chili sauce. The 'Belacan Kangkung' was also very nice. The taste was superb and very nice. Finally the Sweet & Sour Pork Ball was also very nice. The juiciness of the pork ball makes me wanted to eat more and I am starting to love this restaurant more and more. From what I heard, the HQ restaurant located at Rawang tastes the BEST! WOW! Amazing isn't it? The bill came and it totalled to RM88.00 and we felt that it's pretty cheap because we ordered 2 fishes plus another 3 dishes. Overall, we are extremely satisfied with the food tonight and vowed to come back again! Enjoy! MY RATING: 5/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 5/5

Leisure: Empire Shopping Gallery, Subang

Hi All,

Welcome back and in my blog today, I would like to introduce to you a new mall that already standing tall at the hearts of Subang Jaya. With its name, we will know this shopping mall can be a very high standard mall and I have to admit it. Introducing the Empire Shopping Gallery where ME & Kimmy had pay a visit today and it was a great outings to both of us as well. Although the mall is a bit longer and the tenants were not much, still this shopping mall is very good especially for food lovers as they served a lot of food. The mall has 4 floors (not including parking floors) from LG all the way 2nd floor.

For entertainment and leisure, be sure to try out the LEX (Lifestyle Electronics eXperiential Centre) SLIDE which enables you to experience the slide from the 2nd floor right down to the Lower Ground floor. Be sure you are 110cm tall (minimum requirements) and you can try out the World Tallest Indoor Tube Slide. To try out this slide, it's RM12 per person and RM45 for Group Package @ 5 tickets. I have not try this yet and hopefully will do it 1 fine day. Please see pictures.

Other than that, there are several shops selling branded accessories as well as departmental stores such as Jaya Grocery Store and Tangs. Be sure to visit this mall to go shopping or food hunting. It's a great place to be! Enjoy! :) MALL RATING: 5/5

Food Hunt: Kenny Rogers Roasters, Empire Shopping Gallery (Part 3)

Hi All,

Welcome back to this newly opened mall in Subang Jaya as ME & Kimmy had finally visited this mall. We never been to this Empire Shopping Gallery before since it's opening and were glad to finally visited it. The place had many restaurants to offer but the prices of the food was rather expensive as I've seen it via their menu. Finally we have to settle down for some cheap and good food and we had chosen Kenny Rogers Roasters as our choice of food today.

We stepped in the restaurant at about 8.00pm and there were very less people. Maybe there are too much restaurant hanging around there and that's why their business aren't that good. Once I sat down, I've ordered Golden Phoenix Chicken Meal together with 3 sidelines including Coleslaw, baked beans and Golden Corn & Carrot. For Kimmy, she ordered Black Pepper Chicken Meal with 3 sidelines including Macaroni Cheese, Garlic Parsley Potato & Tomato, Cucumber & Onion Salad. Our meals also served with a muffin such as Chocolate, Orange or Vanilla flavour (choose 1). For drinks, both of us shared a cup of COKE since it's free for refill for the price of RM5.90 per cup.

The Golden Phoenix Chicken Meal is quite nice and acceptable. The sauce that was used is eventually quite sour and a bit spicy flavour. In the end, I did ask the waiter to provide me with the BBQ sauce as well so that I can try another sauce. I found out the BBQ flavour is much more better than the Phoenix Chicken Meal original sauce. For Kimmy Black Pepper Chicken, it was nice as well. The portion for both plates are pretty large and worth to eat it here at the Empire Shopping Gallery. The bill came and we were charged RM46.00 plus tax and the price was average too. I would still recommend you to try out the Golden Phoenix Chicken Meal and also the Black Pepper Chicken Meal as it was nice too. Also remember to try out the BBQ Chicken, as the sauce was also amazing. Enjoy! MY RATING: 5/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 5/5

Food Hunt: Steamboat House, Desa Complex, Kepong

Hi All,

Welcome back to yet another edition of the food hunt and this time, ME & Kimmy had visited Desa Complex in Kepong to try out yet another steamboat shop located outside the mall. The place was a bit dirty but the steamboat was nice too especially the 'Ching Tong' soup. The Tom Yum soup meanwhile was not as nice as the 'Ching Tong' soup. We reached there around 7.00pm and there were less people eating there as Kimmy had claimed that previously inside the mall, this steamboat restaurant had a lot of people and crowded. Since this restaurant shifted just outside the mall, then their business started to drop, particularly due to the environment and the cleanliness of the restaurant.

We ordered 2 pax of steamboat and the portion of the ingredients were not so attractive. It was pretty less compared to other steamboat outlets. But 1 thing that I wanted to stress is that the food is very fresh in terms of its seafood ingredients such as prawns & fish. Eventually, I am satisfied with the food quality and would be back to visit them again for the food. In between, they will provide you with a bowl of chilli which is particularly nice and lovely and also a bowl of garlic oil for the soup where you poured into the soup according to your needs. After adding the garlic oil, the soup becoming more delicious as well.

The price meanwhile was pretty much same compared to other outlets in Kepong and it's around RM14.50 per pax and they particularly focusing on the seafood portion. Beware that if you ordered Chinese Tea with ICE CUBES, you will be charged for an additional RM2.00 for the ICE CUBES. That's pretty unfair as well. The bill came and it costs us about RM36.00 for the meal and would be slightly expensive. But I would still recommend you to try out the steamboat over there if you don't mind about the cleanliness of the restaurant. Enjoy! MY RATING: 4/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 5/5
