Leisure: Tropicana City Mall Christmas Decorations 2012

Hello All,

Welcome back to another last stop of the mall marathon where ME & Kimmy had visited Tropicana City Mall on a very last minute and we have added another collection of the Christmas Decorations 2012. This year Christmas theme for Tropicana City Mall would be "Christmas Toy Wonderland".

We reached there quite late about 5.00pm and after watching movie and dinner we only spend about 30 minutes to take photos there. This year Tropicana City Mall Christmas Decorations would be pretty simple but still nice considering it's the theme for kids yet again. It's called Toy Wonderland where it features a huge teddy bear and in between would be some mini teddy bears as well as 2 very huge toy boxes on each corner of the center of the mall. There's a huge Christmas trees standing tall in the middle of the concourse area as well.

I would also recommend you to come over to take photos although area is quite limited as it was filled with stalls selling Christmas items. It was also suitable for the kids to take photos and also suitable for the whole family. Anyway, do check out the full photos on alexleow-kimmy.com Facebook Page. MY RATING: 4/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 4/5

My Comments: Finally this movie had come to the big screens and I have been waiting for such a long time and today is the day where ME & Kimmy had desperately go to watch this movie with exceptionally high expectations towards this movie. We watched this movie at GSC Tropicana City Mall in Petaling Jaya. I've booked this movie earlier and I can't wait to watch seriously. After watching this movie, it was absolutely stunning and lovely movie to catch of all time. My high expectations turned out to be a reality this time. Peter Jackson is truly the best ever director for this movie after having his successful Lord Of The Rings trilogy and now he has done it again. He is risen! The Hobbit set to being you another great adventure and the storyline is very well plotted and as usual the music are superb and lovely. The action and jokes are there equally a lot and throughout he 2 hour and 45 minutes movie, you will not get bored at all and the storyline makes you more eager to know what is going to happens next. The beautiful scenes that was shot at New Zealand also plays a bigger part in this movie, having now Peter Jackson is able to produce a much more better quality scenery and graphics as well. If you love Lord Of The Rings, you would simply love this one as well as the storyline is almost same as it is and it's a prequel. Among the actors and actresses that features before on Lord Of The Rings like Ian McKellen, Andy Serkis and others set to give you yet another great acts from them as well.  I have to bow down to Peter Jackson superior quality movie and I am totally speechless with what he have done with his powerful and brilliant masterpiece. I would again strongly recommend you to watch this movie no matter what and you will simply love it. MY RATING: 5/5 (PERFECT) ; KIMMY RATING: 5/5 (PERFECT)

Leisure: IPC Shopping Centre Christmas Decorations 2012

Hi All,

Welcome back to probably the last stop of the mall marathon for Christmas this year and I could have missed several important malls this year including Mid Valley and Sunway Pyramid. Anyway, the remaining weeks had been pretty busy for me so I should conclude with the last visit to IPC Shopping Centre located at Mutiara Damansara.

Their Christmas theme this year would be "Merry Christmas God Jul" and the word God Jul is in Swedish which means Merry Christmas. This year theme for IPC would be pretty special but the decorations is pretty normal and it's one of the worst decorations so far. I am not impressed with the Christmas Decorations yet again and it was pretty dissapointing. It does contains a few Christmas trees and then a Swedish House and a animal hut inside a Swedish Themed Village and it was too simple. They used a lot cardboard to represent the animals and it's not real. The houses was pretty normal and I could not feel the Christmas feel at this mall at all.

I would not recommend you to come over here for the Christmas Decorations but I will still welcome you here for shopping as their mall also contains Christmas mega sale at the moment. With that we conclude our mall marathon review for this year. See you all next year. Anyway, do check out the full photos on alexleow-kimmy.com Facebook Page. Enjoy. MY RATING: 2/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 3/5

Leisure: The Curve Christmas Decorations 2012

Hello All,

Welcome back to our mall marathon once again and in the year 2012, our journey had almost come to an end of the mall marathon mainly this week as we concluded our visit around the Mutiara Damansara area. The first mall to visit there would be The Curve Shopping Mall. This year Christmas Theme for The Curve Shopping Mall would be "A Christmas Fairy Tale...with a sprinkle of fairy dust".

For me, the Christmas Decorations this year at The Curve looks just normal and nothing special about it. But I must say the concourse area is filled with artificial grass where once you step in, you can feel that you are stepping on the grass. The decorations this year focus on the body of a tree where there's a door that led into a house and the outside view would be some mushrooms and a green green grass of home. There's also Christmas trees that surrounds the area too. Kimmy like this decorations very much so she would give it a full marks for the decorations this year.

Since the area is not too big, I would say they have a done a good job too at least converting the concourse area into something really eye catchy (the artificial grass). There's also an opportunity for your kids to dress like a fairy and take photos there and it's chargeable at a small amount of fee too. I would recommend you to come over here to take photos as your kids will love it too. Although I say it was just normal but overall it's still pretty eye catchy decorations this year and you should enjoy it as well. Also not forgetting the Christmas Shopping Fever is ongoing at the mall as well. Anyway, do check out the full photos on alexleow-kimmy.com Facebook Page. Enjoy. MY RATING: 4/4 ; KIMMY RATING: 5/5

Food & Gathering: Pantai Seafood, Kampung Sg Kayu Ara, Petaling Jaya

Welcome back to yet another edition of Gathering & Food where we celebrated the departure of our beloved colleague Alex Chew at Pantai Seafood Restaurant located at Kampung Sungai Kayu Ara in Petaling Jaya.

We reached the restaurant at around 12.00noon and frankly there are very less people inside the restaurant. This restaurant is usually packed with people when it reaches dinner time. For lunch, it will be pretty less people. However, the crowd will be starting to build up when it reaches 1.00pm onwards till 2.30pm and I can see the flock in the restaurant one by one.

We waited for others colleague to come and finally all of them ( 7 of us) sat on the table around 12.45pm and we ordered out food then. The person who turned up including Wei Wen, Carron, Alex Chew, Kee Lian Hoe, June and Gina Sie and including myself. This is the summary of what we ordered. We ordered 3 of their Signature Dishes and the signature dishes are Chili Crab, Unique Style (RM80.00) (1KG), Poached Live Tiger Prawns (RM120.00) (7 pax) and Steamed Talapia Fish in Nyonya Style (RM38.00). Other dishes including Claypot Chicken with Pork Stomach (RM42.00), Sauteed Garden Greens Vegetables (RM20.00) & Braised Chicken (RM25.00). Price is not valid daily and may subject to change.

Poached Live Tiger Prawns
The food took quite some long time to arrive although the crowd is pretty less mainly they need to prepare accordingly and it takes time to cook. We have to wait for about 20 minutes for the food to arrive. Let's talk about the signature dishes first. The Chili Crab, Unique Style is one of the best dishes of the day and you should order this when you are here. It's super tasty and nice to eat. Also do ordered some 'mantou' where you can eat together with the crab sauce and it makes your meal even more delicious. Yummy! The Poached Live Tiger Prawns is very fresh and it's very juicy as well. It's a fresh catch from the aquarium. This is another dish that I would strongly recommend. Lastly is the Steamed Talapia Fish in Nyonya Style. This cooking style is simply too delicious especially the nyonya sauce. Plus the fish is very fresh and I would say with this 3 dishes we ordered, it just simply FANTASTIC and it lighten up my day seriously!

Poached Live Tiger Prawns & Braised Chicken
Well, do not look down on other dishes that we ordered too including the Claypot Chicken with Pork Stomach, Sauteed Garden Greens Vegetables & Braised Chicken. The Claypot Chicken with Pork Stomach is very nice too as it's juicy and nice. The Sauteed Garden Greens Vegetables meanwhile is nice with so many vegetables including mushrooms too. Lastly the Braised Chicken is also very nice indeed with the braised sauce is simply lovely. We enjoyed our lunch very much here and we vowed to come back again in future.

Steamed Talapia Fish in Nyonya Style
Chili Crab, Unique Style
The total bill is around RM350++ and I would say it's very reasonable as we get to eat a lot of seafood including fish, crabs & prawns. For 1 person we need to pay around RM60 per pax and I think is very reasonable as well. It's not expensive and you are enjoying these seafood at Petaling Jaya and not along the seaside. I would strongly recommend you to come over to Pantai Seafood if you've not been here yet. Enjoy your meal. MY RATING: 5/5 (PERFECT) ; OTHERS RATING: 5/5

Leisure: Paradigm Mall Christmas Decorations 2012

Opened this year on the month of May, Paradigm Mall set to be yet another great shopping mall experience in Petaling Jaya and as well to its surrounding residents as well. There are lots of well known shops inside the mall from locals to international stores and you will simply love it too. Now, it's down to Christmas and of course since I'm one of the surrounding residents who lived near the mall, I would also like to take this opportunity to check out its Christmas Decorations there apart from the bigger malls in the Klang Valley.

The 1st year that Paradigm Mall chose as a theme for Christmas would be "Disney Princess Time To Shine". This theme is pretty suitable for the kids and it features a lot of lovely Disney Characters such as Snow White, Rapunzel, Ariel and many more. I would say that this theme is made for children and they can also experience something special inside this mall. For a small fee, they are able to take memorable photos in front of the main decorations with a main cameraman as a souvenir. This is limited for kids only. If you are interested, then you may proceed to the counter for more information.

The decorations at Paradigm Mall is good and eye catchy as well although they have limited space for their decorations due to the size of the mall. Also it has a limited space for you to take photos as well due to some souvenir shops that covered almost half of the area. It features some great colors such as white and blue. The Christmas trees inside this mall is also decoration with the same colors as described above. I would say it's a good decoration for its first year to celebrate Christmas and I do expect it will be more better in the coming years. I would still recommend you to come over here to experience the Christmas feel and don;t forget to bring your kids here to take memorable photos as well. Anyway, do check out the full photos on alexleow-kimmy.com Facebook Page. Enjoy! MY RATING: 4/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 4/5

Food Hunt: Nando's, Paradigm Mall, Kelana Jaya

Dear All,

Welcome back to yet another edition of Food Hunt and today ME & Kimmy had visited Paradigm Mall to continue with our mall marathon for Christmas. We go there for shop and fortunately we do shopped for lots of stuffs to be brought back for Christmas. After that, it reaches 7.00pm and it's time to fill up with my tummy with food. We have decided boldly what to eat today and we have chosen Nando's as our choice at Paradigm Mall itself.

We reached the restaurant at about 7.15pm and the crowd had almost filled up with people but still there's place for us to sit. Once we sat down, we were then given the menu and it does not take very long for us to decide what to eat actually. Both of us had chosen for the same menu which is the 1/4 Chicken that comes with 2 side dishes (RM17.90 each). For drinks, we've both share a cup of Ice Lemon Tea which is bottomless (RM5.90). For the chicken, you can eventually choose 4 types of chicken flavour (Lemon & Herb, Mild, Hot & Extra Hot). For both of us, we ordered the Mild flavour.

It does not take very long for the food to arrive and we just have to wait for about 10 minutes. I must have admit that they are lack of stuffs so they would be very slow in serving its customers which I had experience it several times during the dine in just now. I did call for refill for drinks and the waiter did came but very slow and I have to personally go to the counter to ask for refill myself. And when I call for the bill, it does take very long time for it to get settled down.

The 1/4 Chicken with 2 side dishes (My side Dishes - Chips & Peri Wedges ; Kimmy Side Dishes - Chips + Salad) is all very nice indeed and this time around, they are very generous enough to give its customers a more satisfactory portion where I felt it's very good as well. There are several sauce that you can actually eat together with the chicken which is Garlic, Hot, Extra Hot, Wild Herb as well. The chicken is so fresh and nice and the best part is the chips and the most recommended one is the wedges which is so nice and tasty where there's a special peri powder on top of the wedges as well. You should come and try it. For the salad, it's just normal and nothing special. Also not forgetting the drinks where we ordered the bottomless Ice Lemon Tea from Heaven & Earth and it's pretty good as it's bottomless with unlimited refills. Worth the money since the drinks is quite expensive here.

The price we pay is around RM48.35 for 2 persons and the portion is pretty generous this time compared to last time. I would say it's reasonable based on the quality food that we get and  the portion itself. We did enjoy the food and of course the environment as well. I would also recommend you to come over to Nando's Paradigm Mall branch to try out the food over here. You will no regret it. Enjoy your meal! MY RATING: 5/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 5/5
