I believe many of you all had done so and tonight is my first dinner with my relatives for the Lou Sang reunion dinner. It was a very happy outings as we gathered together on this special occasion to celebrate the Lunar Year of the Tiger.

We arrived at Tuck Kee Restaurant at Pasir Pinji in Ipoh. This table was book by one of my relatives and we arrived there almost 8.00pm and immedietely the food were served. We took the RM388 package (2 tables) and the food portion was rather big as well. There were 'Lou Sang', Duck, Vegetables, 'Fook Sau' Noodles, pork & a dessert. Based on the price, it was very worth it as well. Overall, the dishes were nice and the most recommended is the Fook Sau Noodles. It symbolizes the long life noodles where when you eat the noodles, you will be long life. Check out the photos!

If you have taken your reunion dinner, remember to share with us as well via my facebook or thru my blog here by leaving your comments as well. I welcome your suggestions and comments as we share out so that we can find more nice place to eat and reunion as well. Festival: Happy Chinese New Year, Gong Xi Fa Cai (恭喜发财)

Hi,

Season Greetings yet again from alexleow-kimmy.com and this time the whole Chinese community would celebrate the year of the Tiger in bizzare fashion. I & Kimmy would like to take this golden opportunity to wish all the Tionghua community a Happy Chinese New Year, Gong Xi Fa Cai (恭喜发财), Wan Shi Ru Yi (万事如意) & Zhu Li Meng En (主里蒙恩)!

Chinese New Year is celebrated in mostly Asian country including Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Malaysia and other countries as well. In Malaysia, Chinese New Year was celebrated in a joyous and wonderful mood. On the eve of the Chinese New Year, family will get together to enjoy the reunion dinner which symbolizes harmony, peace and gathering. Besides that, the Chinese Community would hang tanglung, 'ong lai' (pineapple), flowers as their decorations at their homes which symbolizes good luck and prosperity.

Childen will be the happiest among all during Chinese New Year because they will get an angpow for the eldest who have already get married. Besides, those who haven't get married will get an angpow too. Cookies and other drinks will be served during Chinese New Year as it marks the new year celebration in a bang! The most famous dishes among the Chinese during the Lunar New Year is 'Yee Sang' or 'Lou Sang'. This is a raw fish filled with different vegetable mince where we get to mixed together which symbolizes everything is good throughout the new year (see pics).

Here is my personal message whereby if you are travelling on the road, please drive carefully and stay focus on the road. Don't drink and drive too. Drive slowly and don't rush yourself because your family is waiting for you at home wanting you to return home safely. Enjoy yourself during this festive season and remember to drink more water to keep yourself healthy on a hot chinese new year. Happy Reunion Dinner and Happy Tiger Year to you all. Stay tuned on my blog for more latest Chinese New Year activities happening throughout this week.

Festival: Happy Valentine's Day 2010

May God Bless Your Relationship Forever!

This is a special message from alexleow-kimmy.com whereby we would like to wish all a Happy Valentine's Day. No matter you are married or single or already have a couple for yourself, you still can celebrate Valentine's Day too.

Normally, Valentine's Day is a day where couples meet up together and they will preferrably celebrated it during dinner time where they will normally dine in restaurants. But some prefer to dine at home where they will have candlelight dinner as well. Then the male will normally buy presents for their love ones including a bunch of flowers, a box of chocolates etc. Some say, during Valentine's Day, it a day to have sex together to strengthen the relationship. It vary and depends on the individuals.

For those who are single, you still can date your friends out for dinner as well. You may date your female or male friends where they don't have any programme or don't have any partners to go out for dinner. You won't know that you might end out with something pretty special after the outings. :) So why not give it a try yeah?

Beware that during Valentine's Day, the price will go up especially for dine in and for flowers. The prices will go up at least double of what you pay and you better be prepared for yourself. I mean you may save more money first before the day arrives whereby you must spend unless you have dine in at home. Enjoy yourself during your Valentine's Day.

My Comments: First of all, I would like to wish all of alexleow-kimmy.com visitors a Happy Chinese New Year. Today is Friday and it was very unusual for me to watch movie at this hour too. But since Chinese New Year is drawing near, I would love to catch at least a movie before the lunar new year starts. So, I have invited Kimmy to watch the Chinese New Year comedy, All Well Ends Well 2010 at TGV Metro Prima Kepong. The showtime that I've picked is 9.50pm Friday. We reach there about 9.30pm because it was a total massive jam on the way to Jusco Kepong because a lot of people would also take this opportunity to come out for last minute shopping. Let's go straight to the movie comments. It was a rather fun, cheeky and wonderful movie to catch. Although the story is not so logic as it combines the old and new era type movie , but still it was rather fun and since you're on the Chinese New Year mood, this movie promises to let you sit back, relax and enjoy the laughter. Louis Koo, Ronald Cheng, Raymond Wong & Sandra Ng promises the audience the most laughs of all time as there are the best Hong Kong comedians around. Well, don't mind bout the story as you will still accept it altough it was not so logic and the best is of course of the laughter because laughter is the best medicine! Happy Chinese New Year and enjoy the show. MY RATING: 5/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 5/5

Valentine's Day Food Hunt: Garden Lifestyle Store & Cafe, 1 Utama

Hello everyone,

Today is Saturday and it's a week shy of Valentine's Day. It was a wonderful day perhaps for us because both ME and Kimmy decided to celebrate this year's Valentine's Day a week earlier since next week is Chinese New Year already as I will be out of town. So, I have decided to bring her to 1 Utama yet again to try out a concept restaurant located at the new wing here. It's inside the VOIR concept store and this restaurant is owned by them as well. It was a cozy and romantic restaurant just for everyone here as it was filled with a garden themed restaurant. Kimmy & I was very impressed with the decorations here and I would love to come back again for dining. We reach there around 8.15pm and have to wait about 15 minutes to be seated because that time, there were a lot of people in the restaurant. Once we sat down on the chair, the waiter immedietely bring us the menu and the service was great too. I would rate good for their service and the waiter know how to makes jokes to us as well. Lovely!

We looked at the menu and finally we have decided what to eat and order because there are actually not much variety to choose from. Although they did serve a lot of category of food but the food choices are pretty limited as well. I've ordered Speghetti Marinara (RM17.90) and a teapot of Green Tea (RM5.90). Kimmy ordered Garden Black Pepper Chicken (RM17.90) and a teapot of Darjeeling Tea (RM5.90). We've also ordered Cream of H20 - Cress Soup (RM7.90) as our starter too. Let's go straight to the comments. For mune Speghetti Marinara, it was a totally wonderful. The taste is very nice as the seafood provided on the speghetti was very fresh indeed (prawns & oyster). The taste was just nice as it will be not too sour or too sweet. I love it very much and would give full marks for this one. A must try for this dish but the portion is just a little too small and perhaps not enough for you (guys). The Green Tea meanwhile was imported from England and the taste was just normal and nothing special about it. Kimmy's Garden Black Pepper Chicken was also not bad according to her. The taste was just nice as it was not too hot as well. I've tried some and I found out that the chicken meat was very fresh and pretty soft too. Once put in the mouth, it was nice and mouth watering too. The portion also pretty less and suitable for Kimmy. For the Deejarling Tea, it was much more better than mine Green Tea. The Deejarling Tea was also imported from England and it was much fragrant and was a bit bitter was well and it suits my taste. I would recommend you to try out Deejarling Tea compared to Green Tea if you are a tea lovers.

The Cream of H20 - Cress Soup meanwhile was very special indeed. Again I would like to stress that this soup is not very sweet nor not very tasteless as well and it was well cooked for its taste too. I am very impressed by the soup and I would recommend you to try out this soup as your starter. This soup also recommended by the chef of this restaurant. I love it as well as Kimmy too. We was happy enjoying the overall meal and we vowed to come back again for yet another visit some other time again. The price overall is pretty expensive with the portion of the food is pretty small too. But again I would like to say that if the food is good, then no matter how expensive it is, still worth paying it. The total of the food bill is RM61.05 (including tax) and for me it's very worth it. This year's Valentine's Day with Kimmy would be a special ones because we sat just next to the organ / piano and we manage to listen to so many romantic songs being played on that time. A lovely place to dine in and go have a try! No regrets! MY RATING: 5/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 4/5

Lifestyle: "Two Headed" Travel Teapot & Teacup

Fans of Tea Lovers, please take note!

Lately I am amazed with the tea that sold in supermarkets or being sold in restaurants. Once I've taste it, I becoming more addicted and I am so love into tea for now. But I am only particular into 1 kind of tea instead of all. I would love flower tea very much from now on because of its fragrance and once you drink it, you will feel the smell and fragrance that will definately chases all your stress away from you and keep you healthy.

If you are a frequent traveller or need in handy, then this "Two Headed" Travel Teapot and Teacup is just suitable for you. Now let me tell you that it is very difficult to find this type of teapot cum teacup in the market and you can only find them either through the tea dealers or thru the tea shops around you. If you go the the supermarket or hypermarket, you will not find it. That's true! Well, this is very handy that comes with a Tea Infuser which seperates the tea leaves / flowers from the tea itself. You can find this handy product at Purple Cane Tea Shop in the Klang Valley and the price of this product is rather expensive as you think but it's worth and value for money if you always use it. Priced at RM128.00, this product can be functioned as a thermal (to keep the tea warm), a handy bottle for you to bring everywhere you want and to put in all kinds of tea that are sold in the market.

Besides this product also comes with a built-in straw which allows you to suck the tea too. It was an amazing product for those who love tea and I am sure you will get satisfied with it. Also, this product can also insert some coffee beans into it and drink when you pour in hot water. This product can cater temperatures up to 130 Degrees Celcius as it uses a high polimer plastic which obviously it can support very hot water too. This product is Made In Taiwan and it's imported as well. If you love tea or coffee, this product suits you most as you would love and enjoy the function of this product as this is useful for those are tea lovers. MY RATING: 5/5

Lifestyle: Berjaya Times Square Chinese New Year Decorations

Happy Weekend Folks!

Today, ME & Kimmy had visited Berjaya Times Square for yet another edition of our shopping spree. This time, we did not buy anything from there but just to see the decorations in Berjaya Times Square. It was really packed with a lot of people who busy shopping to buy their nessesities for Chinese New Year. It was a 36 Degrees Celcius temperature back there and as I walked through the shops, I was sweating though.

The Decorations this year is called Shanghai Broadway with a beautiful decorated Red House situated in front of the stage. It was totally nice and amazing. In between the broadway, there were stalls selling Chinese New Year stuffs as well. You should visit Berjaya Times Square when you have a chance because of its decoration. Check out the photos on my blog and my Facebook too! Enjoy! :)

Food Hunt: Station Kopitiam, Berjaya Times Square KL

Hi All,

Welcome back to yet another edition of the food hunt. Today, we were doing some shopping and watching movie at Berjaya Times Square. It was a 30 - 35 degrees hot here in Berjaya Times Square due to the people congestion here. It was so packed with people until I really sweat and looks to tired and dull. Well, I hope that during the dinner time, I manage to smile a little bit while enjoying the food.

We were trying to search for the suitable restaurant to dine in and we finally we got one located the the 4th floor at Berjaya Times Square. Here, there are various restaurant to choose from and I let Kimmy to decide which restaurant we should go. Kimmy had chosen Station Kopitiam as our dining destination. We sat down and we have to wait for about 5 minutes before the waiter could serve us and that time it was so few customers in the restaurant. It was a very bad service too as we waive hands so many times but yet the waiter could not see us. Obviously the place is large and they should have stationed more waiter and waitress to serve us better. I was not amazed and felt so angry because it took us so long and I wanted to walk away too. But before I could do so, a waiter finally served us with the menu. The menu looks tempted with local delights and I've ordered Nasi Petai with Chicken and a glass of Watermelon. Kimmy meanwhile ordered Nasi Goreng Kampung and a glass of Honey Aloe Vera.

Let me tell you about the food that we've ordered. Bout my Nasi Petai with Chicken, it sucks big time. It was so tasteless and it was very hot too. I am a big fan of petai and I was not amazed by its cooking and as I eat the dish, I felt so hot and sweating too. The HOTness of the sambal covered all the taste of the petai chicken and obviously it was not nice at all. Wow! I was very dissapointed with this dish and wondering I should have ordered something else. DO NOT TRY out this dish when you are there as it sucks big time. Bout the watermelon juice, it was tasty but I just get conned by the menu. The menu stated that it was a big glass and it came just a small plastic cup only. Walao eh! I was so pissed off because I was not told about that also. It costs about RM4.90 for the watermelon juice. About Kimmy's Nasi Goreng Kampung, it was not nice rather. It was not tasty at all and there were not much ingredients in that Nasi Goreng Kampung. It was a dissapointed dish too as I've tried it too and I am giving you the same comments too. The Honey Aloe Vera was nice but the same comments as mine as she was conned too by the menu.

It totally spoiled out dinner mood tonight especially myself who were so disspaointed by the food there. Besides, after I came back, I was so hungry too and it ruins my day. It should be a nice day but it turned out to be a nightmare. I was sweating all the way today looking for some good food to cheer up myself but it turn otherwise. The price of this restaurant was very expensive not not worth at all. It came out RM27.00 for both of us and the food sucks big time. PLEASE DO NOT TRY out this restaurant at any cause as you will definately regret it! Service BAD, food BAD and what do you expect? Boooo............. MY RATING: 1/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 2/5
