My Comments: It was a perfect day as we celebrates the new bride and bridegroom for our relatives and friends. Since we are nearby, we visited Paradigm Mall to catch a movie at GSC Paradigm Mall and in the same time to shop as well. We have selected The Smurfs 2 as our movie to catch today. It was an unplanned outing and we watch this movie the very last minute as well. This movie is a sequel of the first episode and this second episode is getting better and we like the movie overall. This movie is also cater to kids and adults should enjoy this movie too as it has a lot of touching scenes that would make you cry as well. Directed by Raja Gosnell, this movie talk about a few elements which would be jokes, touching storyline and very meaningful as well. It's very suitable for the kids to watch as it teaches us a lot of good moral values as well. The storyline was well plotted and then it's good too. If you've watch the 1st one, probably you will find it no surprises and it has almost the same storyline but in this 2nd episode, it has more great and touching scenes and this makes the story even more better and richer as well. I would recommend you to watch it for the whole family as well as couples to go and watch it. A great movie with great plot and storyline. MY RATING: 5/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 5/5

Food Hunt: Restoran Cosy Corner, Taman Cheras, Yulek

Hello All,

Welcome back to yet another edition of Food Hunt and today ME & Steve Chai had invaded Cheras to look out for good food. Special thanks to Steve, he brought me to this restaurant situated at Taman Cheras in Yulek. It's called Restoran Cosy Corner.

We reached the restaurant at about 1.45pm and the crowd is not that much considering still a public holiday. During working hours, it was fully packed during lunch break as well as weekends lunch as well. This is what we've ordered according to Steve recommendation.

1.) Lam Mee (RM4.00)
2.) Prawn Mee X 2 (RM4.00 each)
3.) Barley Ice X 3 (RM 1.50 each)
4.) Yong Tau Foo X 10 pieces (RM1.10 each)

According to Steve Chai friend Yeo, who joined us for this lunch session told alexleow-kimmy.com that the Lam Mee is very tasty and it's their signature dish here. Some claimed that it's originally from Pudu. It's a highly recommended to order when you come here. The picture tells you the whole story. The Prawn Mee that ME & Steve Chai ordered is also above average although it's a bit salty. Overall, the soup is nice and another recommendation when you come and eat here.

Yong Tau Foo (RM1.10 Per Piece)
Curry Mee (RM4.00)
The Barley Ice is also nice and tasty and you should also order it. Finally is the Yong Tau Foo. The taste of the Yong Tau Foo is average but the highly recommended Yong Tau Foo that you should order is the Fried 'Fu Chuk' where it's nice and tasty. It's one the best that can be found in Cheras.

Prawn Mee (RM4.00)
Lam Mee (RM4.00)
The price is reasonable (RM26.60)  but the Yong Tau Foo price is quite expensive and the size is just average. The price for others is still OK. I would recommend you to try out other food here besides the food we ordered above. This restaurant also serves Curry Laksa, Assam Laksa & Soup / Dry Mee too apart from the above and I heard all are equally above average and some are good. Recommended to try it out! MY RATING: 4/5 ; STEVE RATING: 5/5

Food Hunt: Restaurant Leong Kee (良记) & Ming, Tanjung Malim, Perak

Hello All,

We are here. Yes. 3 of us are here and I would like to thank my friend Sai Kit & Chloe for brining me to this place to try out their food. It's also my first journey here to Tanjung Malim and apparently I drove about 1 hour here from Petaling Jaya to here. It was a great journey as I am here to crave for new place for food. And this restaurant is called Restaurant Leong Kee (良记) & Ming. This restaurant is situated nearby the Tanjung Malim Plus toll. After the toll, just drive to the left and then about 1KM you will reach the restaurant. What makes you even more easier to find the restaurant is usually during weekends the cars are fully park on the side of the road and that's the restaurant located. The restaurant only operates at night.

What so special about this restaurant? Actually it's a old name and of course it's famous for its mee which uses the charcoal to cook. These are old traditional method and it's more tastier than you expect. OK. This is what we ordered.

1.) Fried Kuey Teow (RM8.00)
2.) Pepper Soup with Vermicelli (RM8.00)
3.) Hokkien Mee (RM8.00)
4.) Fried Cabbage (RM8.00)
5.) 100 Plus + Drinho Chrysanthemum Drink (RM5.00)

We have to wait about 20 minutes for the food to arrive as it's super packed at the restaurant. We have to sit outside the restaurant. Luckily the weather is good and no rain on that day. The first dish which came to us is the Fried Kuey Teow. It's one of the best dishes that you should order here. There's something special about it is that there's a egg yolk on top the of the mee and you have to stir it to mix it with the Kuey Teow. Yummy! A must ordered when you are here. Next another signature dish which is the pepper soup with vermicelli. The soup is not very spicy and hot but still it's best to eat too. You can either order the soup alone or with the vermicelli. Yummy too! Next is the Hokkien Mee. This restaurant also serves the best Hokkien Mee in Tanjung Malim and you should order it too. The Fried Cabbage meanwhile is also a must try at this restaurant as it's very nice. It's fresh and there's some spicy taste too. It uses the 'chilli padi' to fried with the cabbage and it's very nice. Also not forgetting the home mad chilli paste which I would say is best and suitable to eat together with fried mee. I would not comment on the drinks we've ordered as it's canned and packet drinks.

Fried Kuey Teow (RM8.00)
Pepper Soup with Vermicelli (RM8.00)
Hokkien Mee (RM 8.00)
Home Made Chilli Paste
The price we pay overall would be around RM37.00 and we ordered so many different types of mee as well as a plate of vegetables. I would say it's value for money and the portion is really above average and suitable for 3 of us to eat although we just ordered single portion. We even could not finish the Hokkien Mee as well as others we ate them all. If you feel to drop by Tanjung Malim or feeling hungry while you are driving along the highway during dinner time, do come over here to try out one of the best fried mee stall here located at Tanjung Malim. Enjoy! MY RATING: 4/5 ; SAI KIT / CHLOE RATING: 5/5

Food Hunt: Garden Recipe, Paradigm Mall, Kelana Jaya, Petaling Jaya

Dear All,

Welcome back to yet another edition of Food Hunt where ME & Kimmy are here at Paradigm Mall to catch a movie and in the same time doing a very last minute shopping before our mini big day. After that we have our dinner there as well. And today we've decided to try something new which we never try before and it's the Garden Recipe Restaurant located at Paradigm Mall itself. This restaurant serves organic and vegetarian food as well. It also serves a mixture between Western and Chinese food which give you more variety of choices. We browse through the menu and we are very impressed that there's a lot of choices of food available. We've ordered the following:

1.) Sea Coconut + Honey Ice (RM5.90)
2.) Sea Coconut + Honey Hot (RM5.50)
3.) Portuguese Fried Brown Rice Set (RM13.90)
4.) Wild Yam Multi Grain Porridge (RM13.90)

We reached the restaurant at around 8.00pm and the restaurant is really crowded. But we still manage to find a place. After we order the first which came is the Sea Coconut + Honey Hot & Cold. The Sea Coconut is nice but it's too sweet because it's too much of honey. The same goes to the hot ones. But what impress me is actually I can still feel the freshness of Sea Coconut as well. Nice. Worth a try.

Then it came the Portuguese Fried Brown Rice Set. The portion is really huge and value for money. What's included on the set? It actually has a mini soup, some salad and a piece of Watermelon. The taste is superb and nice. I really love the taste and yummy! The rice has the Portuguese taste and the brown rice is tasty as well. The salad and watermelon is also nice as well as the soup too. It's not too sweet or salty and it's suitable for me. Highly recommended to order this dish when you are there. Finally the Wild Yam Multi Grain Porridge came and Kimmy tried it. She told alexleow-kimmy.com that the porridge is big in portion and tasty too just like the Portuguese Rice I ordered earlier. The porridge contains a lot of ingredients from Yam, Vegetables, Beans and many more. It's really worth the money. If you love light lunch or dinner, this porridge dish is suitable for you.

Portuguese Fried Brown Rice (RM13.90)
Wild Yam Multi Grain Porridge (RM13.90)
Sea Coconut + Honey Hot (RM5.50)
Sea Coconut + Honey Ice (RM5.90)
The bill came and we have to pay RM43.10 for the meal but overall we are very satisfied with the price as we pay what we get where the price is not so cheap but the portion of the food is really huge. There's only service charge and without government tax. The quality of the food is really good and I would highly recommended you to try out their food over here. It's healthy too. Enjoy your food and your shopping at Paradigm Mall. MY RATING: 5/5 (PERFECT) ; KIMMY RATING: 5/5

__________________________________________________________

My Comments: I'm at GSC Paradigm Mall today to catch this movie and my expectations on this movie is definitely better than Hantu Gangster. Let's see how it goes. This movie is a star studded movie where there's a lot of famous actor and actress being involved in this movie. Particularly the noticeable Ng Man Tat which last time partnered with Stephen Chow on several movie occasions and now Namewee had invited him to act in this movie. In terms of seeking actor and actress, Namewee is very good indeed. Directed by himself, it's also starring the model Ribbon Ooi, the singer Tiger Huang Xiao Hu and veteran singer Frankie Gao and tonnes of Malaysian & Singapore artistes as well. Frankly without Ng Man Tat and Frankie Gao, this movie is almost nothing and luckily they stole the limelight in this movie. Tiger Huang only came out as a special appearance only and only acted for like a few minutes.

It talks about the master of singing where singer Frankie Gao who lost in the previous Karaoke competition to Ng Man Tat and now seeking for revenge. Meanwhile, Ng Man Tat was seeking for his long missing wife and there's connection between Frankie Gao and Ng Man Tat too. They have to battle in the singing competition to find out the answer and who's the best. Something happen to Ng Man Tat before the singing competition and can he survive? Check it out! Namewee appearance in this movie doesn't give much impact on this movie until the last part where he did really well and we almost in tears. Still I am quite dissapointed with some of the scenes where it's too childish and not logic indeed.  I would say in future Namewee movie should be making some sense on its jokes as well. Too many rubbish I must say and luckily there's some touching part and some favourable actors which saves the day for this movie.

I would still recommend you to watch this movie although I must admit that it's not the best. It's still lack of laughter and most of the jokes are too silly and not funny though. As a Malaysian movie, I would still support Namewee and hope he can still improve in future. Enjoy! MY RATING: 3/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 3/5
