Welcome back to yet another edition of Food Hunt in Bali on the 3rd Day of visit. We had a wonderful trip in the morning as we visited the Taman Ayun, Botanical Garden, Bedugul and of course the magnificent view makes my mood even more better and of course, my appetite would get more and more good and of course nice trip, nice view will actually increases your appetite because you can enjoy the view while enjoying your lunch. Sounds good isn't it?
Our tour guide Gusti brought us to Mentari Restaurant inside the town of Bedugul after we visited the Ulun Danu Temple and Lake Beratan. The food served here is a buffet style ala Indonesia food. This restaurant is situated in front of the Beratan Lake and while enjoying the buffet, you also can enjoy the food as well. Lovely isn't it? I have requested for Babi Guling earlier on but our driver Gusti said that the Babi Guling in this area is not nice as compared to the ones in Ubud.
The overall buffet there was absolutely nice and tempting too. If you love Indonesia food, then this place is suitable for you but it's limited in choice. The main course of the food is mainly rice and noodles served with vegetables cooked ala Indonesian style which had a lot of spicy cooked with the food. They served keropok (rice crackers), belacan rice, spicy kuey teow noodles, vegetables, spring rolls served with red bean sauce, corn soup, bean sprout and curry chicken as well. For fruits, they served papaya, watermelon and pineapple. For drinks, they served coffee and tea only as other drinks will be charged separately. The price per person meanwhile is not expensive and it's only IDR 60.000 per person only. After plus tax, the bill came is around IDR 144.000 (for 2 persons). I will miss this buffet place too with good food and beautiful view. If you are somewhere around there, mind to tell your tour guide and have a try on it. Then at night after we rest for a while before dinner, we walked out from the hotel and then go to look for food around the Kuta beach area where Hard Rock Hotel was situated there as well. While we are walking, we found a place that suits us. We managed to found a food court nearby in Jalan Kuta and the food court name is called KUTA SEASIDE FOOD CENTER. There we sat down and look into what fod that is suitable for both of us and finally we have decided to take the local Indonesian food again. We decided to try out the rice served with some Indonesian dishes. We've ordered 2 steam rice (IDR 4.000 each) served with Kangkung (IDR 20.000), Hot Plate Chicken (IDR 40.000) & Tom Yum soup (IDR 25.000). Both of us ordered Coca Cola (IDR 10.000) as our drinks too. Let's go straight to the food comments. The Kangkung was nice too and tasty as well the Hot Plate Chicken where the taste was wonderful and just nice to consume. It's not salty too. But, the Tom Yum soup turned nightmare for us as it is not nice at all. The taste was very plain and not much tom yum flavour. Overall the food was nice except the Tom Yum. The bill came and it's totalling to IDR 103.000 (about RM30+) per person. If you would like to look for cheaper food, you can come here to this Kuta Seaside Food Center as you can get cheaper food here with some local taste food. Today is Thursday and we are ready for yet another FULL DAY tour and of course today is the last day of our tour already and I am so sad because tomorrow I am leaving Bali already. It really was an amazing trip overall and I am really pleased with the Island of Paradise once again. Our tour guide Gusti arrived at 9.00am this morning and pick us up at the hotel. Before that, we had our breakfast at 8.00am (Hot Buffet Breakfast) where the choices are limited but still the food is acceptable and then since we have some time, we took a couple of photos again from our hotel.
Then we rest at the hotel for a while and then we walked out along the Kuta Beach to look for food. We have found a food court there and enjoy some Indonesian Food over there. Then we walk around around Kuta Square, Kuta Street and of course the famous Legian Street where it's a shoppers paradise where you can find a lot of sourvenirs shop, pubs along the street. A heaven especially for girls. We reach hotel at about 10.45pm after a long walk and we are tired but satisfied about it since today is our last night here in Bali.
After lunch, we continue our journey to the Tirta Empul Temple where tourist get a chance to bath with its holy water surrounded the temple. I was amazed with the temple design as well. They said those who bath with the water or wash the water with its hand will get good luck and protection from the gods over there. ME & Kimmy did not bath but we did wash our hands there and hopefully we are protected. We also required to wear a sarong (if you wear skirt or short pants only) before we can enter the temple. This temple is a must visit in Bali. The entrance fees is IDR 6.000 per person. After that, Gusti brought us to enjoy the glimpse of the 2nd highest mountain in Bali which is the Mount Batur. Mount Batur is still active till today. The last erruption was in 1994 which was small. The view from the top of the hill is superb where we can overlook the Mount Batur and the Lake Batur beside it. Admission fees is IDR 5.000 per person. You can enjoy the scenic view there and you would not like to leave. After that we are suppose to stop by at Kayuamba Village to catch the traditional coffee processing and plantation but unfortunately we don't have enough time for this one.
So we proceed straight to Tegalalang Village where you can catch the glimpse of the beautiful rice terrace. When we reach there at about 5.30pm, the sun was shining directly at the rice terrace which makes the rice terrace looks so green and so beautiful. ME & Kimmy was so amazed by the view once again and it looks like a paradise too. Admission fees is FREE. The scenery over there once again makes us so impress and till today, I was so exciting visiting this places. Overall, those places mention above were very recommended to visit except the village and it depends on your interest as well. At night, we have asked Gusti to stop by at Kuta Square because we would like to do some shopping over there. Kuta square is yet another place of heaven for shopping and you should not miss this one. The crispy duck costs about IDR 85.500 per set where we ordered 2 sets & the Ice Tea costs about IDR 12.500 per glass. The total bill came is about IDR 238.000 (RM80 for 2 pax) plus tax already. Imagine you can taste the great taste of the crispy duck together with a beautiful view of the green big paddy field. How relaxing it was isn't it?
