Welcome back to yet another edition of Food Hunt. Today ME & my colleague had lunch and my colleague was eagerly trying to introduce this restaurant located at Kota Kemuning. Introducing the Bear Paw (熊手包) restaurant, a newly opened Taiwanese food restaurant in Kota Kemuning. We stepped into the restaurant at around 1.00pm during lunch time and there's less crowd at the restaurant with many order take-away meals. We look at the menu displayed in front of the counter and we've ordered the following SET MEALS:
1.) SET 1 - Bear Paw with Milk Paw (Bread), Fish and Chilli Sauce + Jasmine Green Tea (Drinks) (RM11.90)
2.) SET 1 - Bear Paw with Whole Meat Paw (Bread), Fish & Chilli Sauce + Four Seasons Spring Tea (Drinks) (RM11.90)
There are 6 sets for you to choose from and it depends on which you choose. Chicken is very fast selling as we went there and the chicken meat is finished and left Fish only. How to order? This is a franchise restaurant just like Chatime operates in a same manner. You order from the counter and then you will be provided with a number and you proceed to sit down and wait for your number to be displayed on the LED screen. Then you go to the collection counter and collect your meal. Done! OK! It's pretty fast though and we only waited for about 5 minutes. Now here's the deal. The Bear Paw decorations is nice and very tempting to eat as well especially the paw itself with a paw footprint displayed in front of the bun. When I open up the paw, it was rather disappointing with a couple slices of tomatoes, cabbage and the fish as well. The portion is relatively small and it's not so filling. If you are a big eater this is just not suitable for you and it's very expensive.
The taste of the paw (bun) is nice with milk or whole meat and you can taste the flavour from the buns itself. The fish was then fried and the taste is good too. Overall the bun and the fish itself is very soft and it's melting on your mouth. Personally I like the taste but the portion is too small and not filling additionally the price is pretty expensive too. The drinks meanwhile is just normal and nothing's special. The portion of the drinks is huge but there's very little inside as they put lots of Ice inside the cup and it's rather stingy too.Then there's no French Fries on the set meal and you have to order separately. Overall, it was nice but there's too many negative points for this meal though but at least the meal is still satisfying.
For the price we pay (RM23.80) without any additional tax, I think it's a bit expensive to pay for this meal but if you want to give it a try go ahead as this is very special and it's nice too. Do prepared not to think about the portion and just go and try it. It's suitable for tea time break instead of lunch break. I would still recommend you to go and try it out despite the price and portion. Enjoy! MY RATING: 4/5 ; MY COLLEAGUE RATING: 4/5
