Food Hunt: Face To Face Noodle House (面对面), Bandar Puteri Puchong

Hi All,

After such a long time we did not go for food hunt because I am very busy to settle my car stuffs, finally I am back again and this time, Puchong is our destination for the food hunt. Me & Kimmy had went to Giant Bandar Puteri to settle my car stuffs and then after that we went for a short food hunt. Of course, we have chosen Face To Face Noodle House (面对面) as our choice here.

Once we arrived at about 6.15pm, there's very less people and only 2 tables were seated with people. Immedietely we were served and then we looked at the menu. For your information, this restaurant serves different types and flavours of Pan Mee and you will simply love it. I've ordered Chef Special Dried Chilli Pan Mee (RM5.80) with Honey Lemon Ice (RM3.80) while Kimmy ordered Pan Mee with Dumpling Soup (RM6.80) with Honey Lemon Ice (RM3.80) too.

The food were immedietely served within 10 minutes and it was pretty fast too. And of course we shall go straight to the food comments. The Chef Special Dried Chilli Pan Mee was absolutely nice too. The Pan Mee with Egg was eventually looked very plain until you add the chilli flakes that was prepared on the table. You need to add the chilli flakes and mix with the pan mee and whoahhh! It was absolutely nice! I simply love the taste as it was hot and spicy too just like Kin Kin Pan Mee. The chilli flakes is up to us whether we can take how spicy it is. I can tell you, this is must a try as it was absolutely good. Pleasee see pictures.

Meanwhile for Kimmy's Pan Mee with Dumpling Soup, she told alexleow-kimmy.com that it was nice too especially the pan mee which is very tasty. The soup was good and absolutely a good dish to try. The Honey Lemon Ice was nice too. It's worth a try for every single food that we've introduce just now and the price was very reasonable too. The total bill came and it's just only RM17.60 (NO TAX) and please be also remembered that this restaurant is also equipped with air conditioned and you will be comfortably sitting inside it. With the price and the environment, this restaurant is definately a must visit and do try out their other pan mee flavours too. Enjoy! MY RATING: 5/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 5/5

*Food & drinks rating is based on the food & drinks we've ordered and not overall food.

Festival: Malaysia Day

Hi All,

First & Foremost, I would like to wish all Malaysians a Happy Malaysia Day and this is the first time, the Malaysian Government had declared a public holiday on September 16. A lot of people asked me what is Malaysia Day is all about? Actually, Malaysia Day is a day to commemorate the establishment of the Malaysian federation on the same date in 1963. It marked the joining together of Malaya, North Borneo, Sarawak, and Singapore to form Malaysia. The formation of the new federation was planned to occur on June 1, 1963, but was later postponed to August 31, 1963, in order to coincide with the sixth Hari Merdeka. Several issues related to the Indonesian and the Filipino objection to the formation of Malaysia delayed the declaration to September 16 of the same year. The postponement was also done to allow the United Nations team time to conduct referendums in North Borneo (now Sabah) and Sarawak regarding the two states participation in a new federation.

The formation of Malaysia was made possible through the introduction of the Malaysia Bill to the Malayan Parliament on July 9, 1963, and consent from the Yang di-Pertuan Agong on August 29, 1963. Prior to the formation of Malaysia, Singapore and North Borneo unilaterally declared independence from the United Kingdom on August 31, 1963, thus coinciding with the sixth anniversary of the Malayan independence. Beginning year 2010, September 16 is a federal public holiday. It coincides with the birthday of the Yang di-Pertua of Sabah.

That's what Malaysia Day is all about. It also involves about history of Malaysia and it's more into East Malaysia. Well, it's a day of joyous for all, where it's a public holiday. Enjoy your holidays and drive safely.

Genre: Game Show

Channel Airing: Astro Wah lai Toi (CH 311), Saturday 9.00pm

My Comments:

This Game Show had been my favourite of all time and of course I believe many of you especially the Chinese Community would love this game show. Hosted by the all time favourite and funniest actor Eric Tsang and his helper Chin Ka Lok, this game show are back in television screens and many will be talking about this game show again. This time, they have new members / hosts that supported this game show including King Kong, Elvina Kong and Otto @ EO2. This is also the first time where Elvina Kong (female) featured as a hostress for the game show and it never happened before.

As usual, this game serves its viewers with some mild hardcore and of course some funny games that will leave the contestants having a torrid time and of course making home and studio viewers laughing off their chairs. The participants that came into this show must have courage and able to handle jokes and challenges. There are several segments that are shown in this game show including burst the balloons, guess the song, sushi game, IQ questions, guess the word and so on. The final round where one of the winners of the group will be entitled to play this bonus round and it's call bowling. Contestants will put the fish ball into the mouth and then it acts as a bowling ball and then should towards the bowling pins. It was a fun game though and the group memebers who scored 50 points (depending on Eric Tsang rules where it might be different on each episode) will win a luxury car.

Overall, this game show would definately lighten up your life and brighten up your day as it was supper funny to the max. It's now currently airing on Astro Wah Lai Toi (CH 311), every Saturday at 9.00pm and do enjoy the game show. I can ensure you will laugh off your chair and you will be entertained by the 4 great hosts throughout the shows as well. Enjoy! MY RATING: 5/5; KIMMY RATING: 5/5

Food Hunt: Kenny Rogers Roasters, Tropicana City Mall

Hi All,

Welcome back to yet another beautiful weekend where ME & Kimmy had go for yet another food hunt right here in Petaling Jaya. After finish watching movie, we've added yet another food collection album where we have selected Kenny Rogers Roasters as our selection as ME & Kimmy had never tried it for such a long time already.

After watching movie, we arrived at about 7.00pm and the place has yet to get crowded and only 2 tables were occupied. In fact, the workers there are very less because that time we went, many workers were on Raya leave according to the cashier. Only 2 workers can be seen for the whole restaurant serving customers and of course, when it get crowded, then they will have a torrid time and you patrons will surely complaint of the slow service.

After considering looking at the menu, finally ME & Kimmy had made a decision on the food that we've chosen. I've chosen the Balinese 1/4 Chicken Set which comes with 3 side dishes together with a muffin. Kimmy had chosen Black Pepper 1/4 Chicken Meal which also comes with 3 side dishes together with a muffin. For side dishes, I've chosen Coleslaw, Mashed Potato and Golden Corn with carrot while Kimmy had chosen Mashed Potato, Big Pieces Of Tomato and Salad Beans as her side dishes. For the muffin, I've chosen Chocolate Muffin while Kimmy had chosen Vanilla Muffin. There's also another flavour called the Banana Muffin. We've ordered 2 glass of iced water. The food came pretty fast also due to less people that time and it took about 10 minutes for us to get served.

Now the best part is the introduction of the food taste. The Balinese 1/4 Chicken Set was a big hit as it really contains the Balinese style in terms of the sauce that surrounds the chicken. The sauce was spicy and sweet too and it suits my taste. You may look at the mouth watering pictures. For the 3 side dishes, the coleslaw was nice together with the mashed potato and the best would be the Golden Corn and Carrot as the Corn was very sweet too. For Kimmy's Black Pepper 1/4 Chicken Meal was above average too. But the taste was just spicy and could not tastes the Black Pepper smell much. For the side dishes, the Big Pieces Of Tomato and the Mashed Potato was good but the Salad Beans was just average and not so nice. For the side dishes, there are a lot to choose from as I've tried some of them only. Perhaps next time, you can try other side dishes to compare and I will perhaps next visit. The muffin meanwhile was absolutely delicious especially for the Chocolate Muffin that I've ordered but not the Vanilla Muffin which was just so-so only.

The bill came and it was almost same price as Nando's. The Balinese 1/4 Chicken set costs RM16.90 while the Black Pepper 1/4 Chicken Set costs RM15.90 and the total bill is RM37.00++ including the service and government tax. The Iced Water was free of charge. The portion of the chicken if pretty small compared to Nando's if we compared with the 1/4 chicken set. But the side dishes of Kenny Rogers is better than Nando's and both have its pros and cons too. Overall, the food can be rated as good and I would recommend you to try out Kenny Rogers if you haven't do so. Do log on to their website http://www.krr.com.my/ where they also accepts delivery services as well. Enjoy your meal! :) MY RATING: 4/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 3/5

*Rating are based on the food and drinks we've ordered and not overall food and drinks.

_______________________________________________________

My Comments: Today I was in Tropicana City Mall with Kimmy as we completed our weekend outing here. Normally on Sunday, I will go shopping with Kimmy and then watch movie with her. Today we went to GSC Tropicana City to watch a horror and thriller movie that will definately wake us up but in the same time this movie will make you tense as well. Piranha is the movie that we've watch today and do expect many blood involved in this movie. If you can't watch any of the massive blood scene, then try avoiding this movie as it is going to be a massive blood bath involved where the piranha killed the people. There are a lot of tense moments that could shocked the patrons inside the cinema. This movie is similiar with those crocodile or sharks movie but Piranha does comes in massive amounts of hundred to thousands to kill the humans. There's nothing special about this movie in terms of storyline and it only happened in the Victorian Lake. Can someone survived? If you are interested in these kind of movies, then this movie is suitable for you and do expect a lot of blood and torn muscles from the humans and it looks very real too. This scenes where I can give a very high marks. I would recommend you to watch this movie as it was not bad after all as other people would have say that this movie sucks but I totally opposed that. Also, I rarely see this type of movie and today I did and I did have a tense moment but enjoyable. Enjoy! :) MY RATING: 4/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 4/5

Food Hunt: Su Kitchen, Kepong Village Mall

Good Evening folks,

Welcome back to yet another edition of the Food Hunt where today, I will bring you guys to Kepong Village Mall to craft some food over there. It was indeed a lovely evening where the rain had just stopped. ME & Kimmy had decided to go for Madam Lim but today it did not open and unexpectedly we have visited Su Kitchen at Kepong Village Mall. Unfortunately I did not take down the entrance of the Su Kitchen but I can roughly tell you that once you reach Level 2 escalator from Level 1, then you will see the restaurant and it's located next to the Food Court and Subway. I will attached the Floor Directory with the RED box for you to locate it.

We reached Su Kitchen and the place was absolutely empty with only 2-3 tables being occupied. Once we sat down, we were served with the menu and I can tell you that the menu looks like Oldtown and the style is also same. The waiter also eagerly introduce their main dish for us and it was mainly the Nasi Lemak Ayam Rendang. OK! Since that's their main dish, then I go for the Nasi Lemak Ayam Rendang with a glass of Honey Lemon Ice. Both of us ordered the same dish. The service was pretty fast and it took about 8 minutes for the food to arrive. The portion of the 'Nasi Lemak Ayam Rendang' was medium but the chicken was pretty small piece. It costs us about RM8.90 per plate and the taste was above average. The 'sambal' was not spicy though but the ingredients used were very fresh and nice. The best part is the drinks that we've ordered. The Honey Lemon Ice was absolutely wonderful and nice. It melt into my mouth and it was very tasty and I simply love it.

The bill came and it costs us about RM26.00 for 2 persons with the same amount of food we've ordered. It was like the OldTown price but if compared with the portion between Su Kitchen and OldTown, definately OldTown has a bigger portion compared to Su Kitchen. But still I prefer OldTown Nasi Lemak as it was still my favourite. You may want to come and try the Nasi Lemak over here and feel the difference but do not expect it will be perfect! If you ate a lot, definately the portion of Nasi Lemak is not enough for you too. MY RATING: 4/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 4/5

*Food & Drinks Rating are based on what we've ordered and not overall food & drinks.

My Comments: Today is the first day of Hari Raya and of course, it our holiday time and I have decided to spend my Raya Holidays back in the Klang Valley because I do not want to stuck in traffic jam again. So, since nothing to do today, ME & Kimmy had decided to go for shopping mall and we have visited Mid Valley Megamall and we've also decided to watch Resident Evil: Afterlife. It was so crowded on the first day of Raya and hardly we can find parking too. About this movie, overall it was still satisfactory although I would not say this movie is perfect as there are some things that are not up to expectations. Milla Jovovich was still an outstanding women in this movie and still she's the best. But the storyline was a little too ridiculous and it was cut short and not fully shown and there are too many cut scenes to finish off this movie. In certain parts where they tried to find their way out and they did not show all and just jump to the conclusion without any difficulties passing through it. Also, the action was rather less compared to the previous versions of Resident Evil but still you will enjoy it because it was a fun ride too as the whole movie was very terrifying as well as zombies who ate human too. I would still recommend you to watch this movie if you are zombie movie lover or action movie lover but I bet you will be a little bit dissapointed as I believe you had set high expectations towards this movie. It was just nice to watch. MY RATING: 4/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 4/5

Lifestyle: Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000 With Bluetrack Technology

Hi All,

Welcome back to yet another edition of product introductory where I have bought a mouse at All IT Hypermarket recently and after a few days using it, I was very satisfy with the product and I've decided to introduce to you. Introducing the Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000 with Bluetrack Technology which acts as a Wireless Mouse and not only that, where it can also used at hardened surface such a carpet or marbles (except glass). There are various colors to choose from including blue, green, black etc.

It uses a Nano Receiver and the size of the nano receiver was rather thin and small. You can't see it from far where it was just a little tiny receiver. It uses only 1 Alkaline AA battery and for more affordable alternative, you may purchase rechargable batteries that can lasts longer. It also uses a new technology called Microsoft Bluetrack Technology where it can work almost in any surface including carpet or marbles (except Glass). Overall, the design was rather sleeky and it was nice too. It's also comfort to grab within your hands and you should owned one while you are on the go anytime and anywhere. Speaking about battery life, it was absolutely good and it can lasts at least 6 months and above. It was cheaper compared to Logitech Mouse and why not go for a cheaper mouse with great features and of course better technology currently then Logitech. MY RATING: 5/5

Food Hunt: Kim Gary Restaurant, The Curve Shopping Mall

Hey folks,

After watching movie at e@Curve, it's time for dinner where ME & Kimmy had decided to go to Kim Gary Restaurant at The Curve to have our dinner. We reach there around 7.30pm and the place is already crowded. We need to take number and waited to be seated. Luckily we did not have to wait pretty long and finally we get a place after waiting for about 10 minutes.

Once we sat down, we looked at the menu and the service was pretty fast too despite so many people as they have adequate staff to serve its customers. Good news for that. After taking a look at the menu for about 10 minutes, finally ME & Kimmy had decided on what to order. I've ordered Shredded Chicken, Fried Egg & Mushroom Rice with Corn (RM9.50) together with Ice Lemon Tea (RM3.80) while Kimmy ordered Wrapped Fish In Egg with Chinese Mushroom & Corn Rice (RM10.90) together with Lime Juice with Aloe Vera (RM4.80).

Kimmy told alexleow-kimmy.com that her Wrapped Fish In Egg with Chinese Mushroom & Corn was great and nice to eat. The fish is very fresh and the rice meanwhile was good too. The taste was great and amazing. While mine is different from her. I felt that the Shredded Chicken, Fried Egg & Mushroom Rice with Corn was very salty and not nice. Even the rice also taste salty maybe because of the shredded Chicken which makes the rice salty too. Felt dissapointed with the dish I've ordered compared to Kimmy. Luckily the Ice Lemon Tea was good and nice to drink.

When the bill came, it came about RM33.30 and the price is reasonable too. The amount of food is average and I can say not too much or too less. You can try the dish that Kimmy ordered but not mine please! I had a torrid time finishing my meal and it's pretty bad to eat the bowl of rice that I've ordered. Enjoy your weekend! :) MY RATING: 3/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 4/5

________________________________________________________

My Comments: Once again, we are back again to yet another movie session where today ME & Kimmy had planned for yet another movie outings. Today, we have visited The Curve and of course we watched movie at Cathay Cineplex at e@Curve today. We have chosen this movie Cats & Dogs: The Revenge Of Kitty Galore. This movie mainly talks about how cats & dogs battle and in the same time, they can be friends too. It was definately cater for kids as it was pretty funny and the movie was out of its logic as well where the Dog and Cats can be very powerful and they has its own technology to overcome each other. It looks a bit insane whereby in real life, cats & dogs would not do so but in this movie they seems can do it. Haha! Well, overall, the storyline was good and simple and no rocket science for this one. I would recommend you to watch this one and have a good laugh towards this movie but I would not give full marks for this one as there's still a big room of improvement too. Enjoy! MY RATING: 4/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 4/5

Cinema Movie: Old Cow Vs Tender Grass (老牛与嫩草)

Release Date: 2 September 2010
Language: Mandarin
Running Time: 1 hour 35 minutes
Genre: Comedy
Director: Fok Chi Kai
Cast: Crystal Lin, Henry Thia, Jack Lim, Siau Jiahui.

Synopsis:

"Old Cow Vs Tender Grass" tells the story of Moo (played by Henry Thia), a taxi-driver in his late 40s, and how his routine life changes when he gets acquainted with an attractive but eccentric lady, Moon (played by Crystal Lin). Meanwhile, Jack Lim plays a rugged taxi-driver who falls for a lady from China (played by Siau Jiahui). The movie attempts to explore the seemingly improbable romantic relationships in today's society, through a simple yet hilarious storyline

________________________________________________________

My Comments: It was a lovely Saturday night where it was so cold where Kimmy & I couldn't have imagined after it rained the whole night. This also does not dampens our spirit to go TGV Metro Prima in Kepong to watch movie where I have been waiting a long time to watch this Singaporean movie. Old Cow Vs Tender Grass is our movie choice this week as it talks about relationship between a greater age and a younger age. This movie also starring Henry Thia and Jack Lim whose name are super famous among Singaporeans and Malaysians we well. This movie overall does dissapoints me although I would really expect a good rating for this one. The movie was less funny and the storyline was normal and not interesting as well. It's like "no movie to act but just purposely find a movie to act" in cantonese. It was merely dissapointing where I would expect Henry Thia to be more funny and hilarious because he is the main actor of this movie but there was just a few laughing scenes in this movie only. Jack Lim however also same where I should not blame him because he is just an supporting actor only in this movie and he also does not impress in this movie where a few laughs only came out from him. Overall, I would not recommend you to watch this movie unless you are too free and you've got nothing to do, then you can watch it but be prepared because you will be dissapointed too. MY RATING: 2.5 /5 ; KIMMY RATING: 3/5

Food Hunt: Restoran Fish & Noodle House, Damansara Kim

Hi All,

Welcome back to another edition of Food Hunt and for those who love Fish Head Noodle, then today I have something for you. Introducing the Fish & Noodle House which is located at Damansara Kim and it's a place you should try.

Me & Alan arrived at the place at about 1.30pm and the place is still pretty much crowded. Once we sat down, we were served immedietely despite a lot of people there. The service is very good and excellent too. Then, we looked at the menu as there's not much to choose from and immedietely I've ordered Fish Paste Noodles with 100-Plus while Alan ordered Fish Head Noodles (Fried Fish) and Coke as drinks.

It took about 10 minutes for our dish to arrive and it considers pretty fast as well. About my Fish Paste Noodles with milk, it was super nice but the amount is very less. I love the soup which covered with milk as it was delicious. The amount was pretty less and for a person like me, it's not enough and you may opt for the second bowl (not worth it because it's quite expensive). My bowl costs me about RM7.50. The fish paste was average as there's about 4 pieces in 1 bowl. For Alan's Fish Head Noodles (Fried Fish with Milk), he told alexleow-kimmy.com that the noodles was just average. He said that the noodles was too normal and the soup was not as nice as he tried in other restaurants. It costs RM7.50 per bowl as well.

The total bill is RM20.00 including drinks and I think it's a bit expensive. Now here's the question whether do you accept the taste of the Fish Head noodle or not. For me it's nice but it depends on individual as well. But still although it's expensive, I felt that it's still worth it as long as the Fish Head Noodles are nice. I will still recommend you to give it a try and you rate it yourself! :) Enjoy! MY RATING: 5/5 ; ALAN RATING: 3.5/5

*Food rating are based on the food we've ordered and not overall food.
