Festival: Happy 53rd Merdeka Malaysia

Happy 53rd Independance Day Malaysia!

Well, the first question in my mind is what does MERDEKA means to you? For me, Merdeka means we want a good, fair and civilized government who really take care of it's own people. This is what Merdeka really means for us. By having a corrupted and unfair government with no freedom of speech, this would really effect the people so much and this is not going to happen right here in Malaysia.

Merdeka is a day to remember where our country were freed from the other nations civilizations. We were then take over by our first prime minister, Tuanku Abdul Rahman and after that the Barisan Nasional had taken over the government for like 53 years. We will always remember this day as long as the government does not misuse its powers and to put a big pressure on the people. All of us Malaysians celebrates Merdeka together in peaceful and harmony with different cultures together as we must stand put and put our hands together to tackle difficult times to ensure our country that we lived are in peace and harmony state.

SELAMAT HARI MERDEKA MALAYSIA!

Lifestyle: BHPetrol Infiniti Advance 2X

Finally another new formula of petrol had been introduced in Malaysia as part of BHPetrol afford where the company introduced the newly formula called BHPetrol Infiniti Advance 2X.

After Shell introduced it's V-Power 97, BHPetrol also came out with its new formula which BHPetrol wanted to compete with Shell where BHPetrol has come out with Infiniti Advance 2X with RON95 and RON97 formula. Have you tried it?

Basically, you know I am very particular with petrol nowadays where it does made a big impact to our cars and protect our engine too. I've tried Shell V-Power 97 and it does gives me a great satisfaction where it's less fuel consumption and it makes the car more powerful too. For BHPetrol Infiniti Advance 2X RON97 formula, it acts slightly lack compared to Shell V-Power but still it's considered powerful too. I've tested where the power and performance was on par where the fuel consumption was less and the car also has more power. It also gives me total satisfaction and the only thing I go for BHPetrol is because of its redemption or rewards programme compared to Shell V-Power 97 which uses Bonuslink card.

If you are an existing BHPetrol user, do continue to use it as it does not makes much difference compared to Shell V-Power 97 but just lack a little bit compared to V-Power 97. Also if you are a new user and wanted to try out this petrol, do go ahead as I would totally recommend to you and you should be satisfied with the petrol you used. For the time being, I will change back to BHPetrol instead of Shell V-Power and I hope BHPetrol will maintain it's good quality petrol with it's addictive AAC which give high performance to our cars. For more of the BHPetrol new benefits, please log on to http://www.bhpetrol.com.my and also join BHPetrol Facebook Fan page. Enjoy! MY RATING: 5/5

Food Hunt: Port Village Restaurant, Northport Klang

Hi folks,

Welcome back to another edition of the food hunt where today we got a large group joining us where me made a trip down to Port Klang Northport to hunt for seafood again. Today I also get to know some Steve Chai's friend and I'm happy to know them. We've got 6 people joining the trip with 3 cars going for the hunt.

Also not forgetting, I get to know 2 new friends who is Brandon and Li Ping. Nice to meet you. We arrived at Tanjung Harapan at about 5.00pm and of course before we go for seafood, we managed to visit the Tanjung Harapan Esplanande and the view there was pretty nice and breathtaking as well. There's a stall ship over there but we did not get up there as it was locked up. We had great time especially Steve Chai, who took a lot of photos using his SLR camera. Great! Then 30 minutes later, we head towards Hainan Village for Seafood but unfortunately the place was fully booked for wedding occasion. So, we changed our plan and we have selected Port Village Restaurant, which is situated along the Tanjung Harapan front.

Once we reach there around 6.00pm, the crowd was very less and of course we get to choose a good place for seaview of course. We've ordered 6 dishes including a fried fish, vegetables with oyster sauce, fried squid, milk butter prawn, Kam Heong Bamboo Clams 'zhuk sun' and salted egg crab. For drinks, all of us ordered the Coconut drinks. Overall, the seafood was just average and not that nice. The fried 'sek pan' fish sucks all time as it was tasteless and not fresh too. The vegetables with oyster sauce was too normal and nothing special about it. The Fried Squid was nothing so special as it was just normal and must serve with chilli, otherwise it's no taste at all. The best would come from the milk butter prawn and the Kam Heong Bamboo Clams 'zhuk sun' as it was very tasty. The egg crab meanwhile was very salty too and not nice. Overall, it was just average with the food that we've ordered and we are not satisfied with the seafood today.

The price meanwhile was pretty expensive too. The total bill came and it was RM240.90 including tax and for 6 dishes. Many had said before that if you eat inside Hainan Village was much more cheaper that you eat along the Restaurant along the Tanjung Harapan road. Well, we have no choice but to try over there. Overall, we had a good trip too although the food was just average. But some on their blogs said that Port Village Restaurant seafood was very good and best. Maybe we've ordered some seafood that are not the restaurant's favourite dish. You may go and try it and judge by yourself. Try to google and see if any other bloggers introduced other good dishes to you. Enjoy your weekend folks! MY RATING: 3/5 ; OTHERS AVERAGE RATING: 3/5

Rafael Benitez's first European match in charge of Inter Milan ended in disappointment for the former Liverpool manager.

Benitez: Give me time

Benitez's side, the reigning European champions, were beaten 2-0 by Europa League winners Atletico Madrid, thanks to goals from Jose Antonio Reyes and Sergio Aguero, in the UEFA Super Cup.

By contrast Inter looked a shadow of the side taken to the pinnacle of Europe by Jose Mourinho - despite no less than 10 of the starting XI having also started the Champions League final.

In a tepid first half, this meeting between the creme de la creme of European football failed to live up to its billing as neither goalkeeper was forced to make a save.

The playing surface at the Stade Louis II in Monaco is infamous for being hard and unpredictable - not helped by the subterranean car-park under the pitch - and that contributed to the poor quality.

Even so there was no excuse for some of the poor shooting displayed by Aguero in particular as Atletico edged the opening 45 minutes - the Argentinian did also have a decent penalty claim turned down.

Inter's best opportunity came from Wesley Sneijder, an effort from outside the box that bounced wide, before Samuel Eto'o drifted past a couple of challenges but pulled his shot past the post.

The second half was infinitely better and though the first save still did not arrive until the 58th minute, it was worth waiting for.

Reyes cut back onto his left foot and from the right side of the area bent the ball towards the far corner only to see Julio Cesar hurl himself full length to turn the ball behind. He looked distraught but his unhappiness did not last long as within two minutes he had put Atletico in front.

This time he dribbled into the box, nearly lost the ball but regained control and sped past Maicon before beating Cesar from a narrow angle at his near post.

The goal sparked wild celebrations and Aguero nearly made it two but Cristian Chivu cleared off the line. Reyes picked up an injury while scoring and limped off to be replaced by another ex-Arsenal player, Fran Merida.

Diego Forlan brought two more saves out of Cesar, one from a direct free-kick and then from 30 yards out.

Inter continued to struggle to create anything noteworthy and Aguero ended the contest with a simple finish after Simao had played a brilliant pass across the six-yard box.

To rub salt in the wound for Inter, even when Goran Pandev won a generous penalty in the final minute the Atletico keeper David de Gea had the last laugh by saving from Diego Milito.

__________________________________________________________

My Comments: Today is Sunday and of course, we had planned for yet another movie outings before we are off next week. Well, we have selected Grown Ups as our movie today as this movie had already release it although the general release of this movie should be 26th August 2010. But in some selected cinemas, it had been showing and as I believe it had got a lot of demand for its audience. Today we watched at GSC Tropicana City Mall and let's go straight to the movie comments. This movie is a comedy and it should be a laughing out loud movie and it proved to be one of them. YES! With Adam Sandler in it, this movie is a cracker but unfortunately the jokes were pretty lame as well. I don't really can accept the jokes as I only laugh half of the jokes only throughout the movie. It wasn't the best movie that I've watched but still I would give an average mark for this one. It's a family movie too where you can bring your family to go and watch. Don't expect too much from this movie as it's a bit different from the trailer that you watch but Kimmy thinks otherwise. She said that this movie was good as the storyline was great and the jokes are interesting and worth of laughing. Wow! It totally depends on how you judge this movie as it's pretty subjective too depending on individuals. For me, I will still recommend you to watch this movie and you judge yourself. MY RATING: 3.5/5; KIMMY RATING: 4.5/5

Food Hunt: Domino's Pizza, Bandar Sri Damansara

Hey folks,

It was a beautiful Saturday evening where ME & Kimmy are in search for Food Hunt yet again and this time, out journey continues where we went to Bandar Sri Damansara again to have the Domino's Pizza. We have chosen pizza this time because it's had been a while that we've taken pizza.

Without any hesitation, we drove all the way to Bandar Sri Damansara and reach there about 8.00pm. That time, the crowd was very less until 8.30, where the crowd starting to build up. Once we reach there, we've ordered COMBO DEAL 1 (RM27.80) which contains 1 regular pizza, 1 breadstix and 2 cans of Sprite. We've ordered Classified Chicken as our Pizza. Since Domino's introduced their latest owen baked French Fries which costs about RM5.80, we decided to order and give it a try as ala carte.

The Classified Chicken pizza was very tasty indeed. It was so nice and mouth watering too. The breadstix meanwhile was good and freshly baked and when you served with BBQ sauce, the taste was great too. Last but not least, the french fries was very special too. It was freshly baked from the oven and was marinated with cheese and the taste was unique and tasty. You should try on the fries although it's pretty much pricey but it's worth it too as it was superbly nice. There's no service and government tax and it was reasonable price too. Overall, both Kimmy and ME love the taste and very satisfied with the pizza we've ordered today. Both of us truly recommend you this pizza and the set if next time you would like to try at Domino's Pizza. Enjoy! MY RATING: 5/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 5/5

Food Hunt: Ahimsa Vegetarian Restaurant, Endah Parade, Sri Petaling

Hi All,

Welcome back to yet another edition of the Food Hunt and of course today, I would like to introduce a vegetarian restaurant for you. If you like vegetarian food and you are around Sri Petaling or Bukit Jalil area, then you've got it! This restaurant is located inside Endah Parade in Sri Petaling and it's situated at the 1st floor. It's our lunch time and my collegue CK Ng brought me here and I am delighted to try out their vegetarian food.

Once we arrived at the restaurant at about 1.30pm, there were not much people and only a few tables were sitted by the customers. Immedietely when we sat down, the menu was brought to us and we look at the menu. I've ordered Fried Yee Mee with Ice Lemon Tea while CK Ng ordered Fried Kuey Teow with Sea Coconut Dessert. We've also ordered Vegetarian 'Tong Por' Meat too as our dish for us to eat. Let's go straight to the comments. The Fried Yee Mee was good also and the portion is a lot and worth it. Nothing so special bout the Fried Yee Mee. The price is RM6.50 for non-member and RM5.50 for member. For the Ice Lemon Tea, the taste was good and the portion of the drinks is pretty big size and the price is RM3.00 per cup.

For CK Ng dish, he told alexleow-kimmy.com that the Fried Kuey Teow was good too. The price is RM6.50 for non-member and RM5.50 for member. The Sea Coconut dessert meanwhile was great and nice. It was surrounded by 2 pieces of lemon and sea coconut inside together with the dessert. When you look at it, it was nice and CK Ng told me that the taste was great. The portion was pretty small compared to others and the price is RM3.80. The Vegetarian 'Tong Por' Meat meanwhile was simply the best. It contains about 8 pieces and both of us took 4 pieces and I can tell you, we nearly cannot finish it because it was too full as the portion is real huge. The price is RM15.00 per plate but still worth it because of the portion. I can tell you that although it's a little pricey, but the portion was real huge and for some dishes, you can even share with 2 people. A great price with great value too. Again, if you do love vegetarian food, you should try out this restaurant as they served great vegetarian food and you can also booked them for several occassion too such as birthday party or wedding dinner as well. Remember to enjoy the photos as well. Enjoy! MY RATING: 5/5 ; CK NG RATING: 5/5

My Comments: Today is of course movie Wednesday where you can actually enjoy great rates in cinemas. With today I'm free, I have decided to go for a movie with my brother Alan. We had chosen GSC 1 Utama as our destination for movie this time. And of course, we have chosen The Expendables as our movie. The Expendables is a great action movie to watch and of course I would rate this movie as the blockbuster of the summer. This movie combines great and veteran actors as well as great action accompanied by some jokes into it. I would rate this movie as great although the story was pretty simple and easy to understand. There is no rocket science in this movie as you do not need to think what is the outcome and you would easily understand it. The casts such as Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Mickey Rourke, Steve Austin and Sylvester Stallone are very impressive in this movie and the one I like the most is Sylvester Stallone as his role in this movie was so cool and superb. Besides, others such as Jet Li, Bruce Willis and Steve Austin was good in their role as well. You are like watching WWF wrestling as their muscles was real big. Overall, action, jokes and love were all combined in this movie and it was a remarkable movie to watch and I am sure you will love it for those who love action movie. The huge killing and bombing makes this movie sounds very loud and the sound effect was superb too. Enjoy the movie and you will never regret! MY RATING: 5/5; ALAN RATING: 4/5

Food Hunt: Momo Paradise, Bandar Manjarala

Hi All,

I would like to take this golden opportunity to wish my beloved Kimmy a Happy Birthday. In conjunction with her birthday, we had chosen to eat Shabu Shabu as that's her favourite too. She had decided to go to Momo Paradise, a Shabu-Shabu restaurant located at Bandar Manjarala.

We reach there around 8.15pm and there were very little people eating at the restaurant until after 9pm, where the crowd started to build up. I was wondering these people took their dinner so late and some more it's a buffet style as well. How can they sleep though later with a full stomach? Well, up for them to decided. Once we step in the restaurant, we need to pay first before we eat the buffet. It will be RM25 per person with no tax. Both of us spend bout RM50 eating and of course, we are satisifed where we can eat as much we want at the price of RM25. It would be RM12.50 per person for children.

Actually it was pretty expensive but with the environment we get, I would say it's still reasonable where we will be served on an air-conditioned environment. The soup only contains either Yin or Yang soup. The Tom Yum soup was very sour and not very nice that day. According to Kimmy, she said today's the soup was pretty dissapointed as previously she had tried before and found that the soup was very nice for Tom Yum. Well, I had a bad luck today as the soup was not nice at all! For Kimmy's 'ching tong' , it was very nice indeed compared to Tom Yum. There are lots of varieties to choose from including Clams, Prawns, Squids, Fish fillet, Sliced beef, Sliced pork, Black fungus, Seaweeds, Yong Tau foo, Scallops, Mussels, Fish balls, Pork balls, Beef balls etc. and we are satisfied with the buffet food served. Remember if you had finish your dinner, don't forget to order some desserts to eat such as ice-cream or pudding. You need to ask or else they won't served you. If you would like to try the Momo Paradise in Bandar Manjarala, you can come over and gave yourself a try. But do remember, the soup is very depending as sometimes it's nice and sometimes not. It depends. MY RATING: 3/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 3.5/5

________________________________________________________

My Comments: Me & Kimmy had decided to go for a movie, perhaps a movie day for us again where both of us are in The Curve today. Of course, the crowd awere not that much today as the Muslims are heading towards a puasa month. In the meantime, when we walked into E-Curve, Damansara, there are very little people watching movie and it's the best time for us to watch as well. We had selected Salt as our movie to watch this week as we've got several feedbacks saying that this movie is worth to watch and nice. Once we watched this movie, I was so surprise that it was definately a hit. Angelina Jolie was the girl to watch as her stunts was truly amazing and nice. In the same time, it's a bit too over for her to act in this movie as she could not die in any circumstances and then she really did a lot of stunts just like what Jackie Chan did. Overall, this movie contains almost 1 hours of real action and you will not be bored while watching this movie. Stunts, action as well as betrayal and mole is the elements that contains in this movie and it would not be bored and interesting to watch. Overall, I would recommend you to watch this movie if you have not. A great action movie with great stunts as well. MY RATING: 5/5; KIMMY RATING: 5/5

Food Hunt: PappaRich, Desa Aman Puri

Hello Folks,

I am back again and this time, PappaRich is our next destination of Food Hunt on a lovely Saturday evening. As usual, Saturday evening is the most enjoyable one because we do not need to work on Sunday. Of course, weekends is also our best time for Food Hunt and we are back again to bring you guys the latest development of Food Hunt.

We arrived at PappaRich, Desa Aman Puri at about 7.45pm and the place looked so empty probably still early. As we arrived, I could see the waiter and waitress sitting there nothing to do and upon our arrival, we were immedietely served with the menu. It took 10 minutes for us to look at the menu to decide what to try out. Finally, mee is both of our choices here as I've ordered the PappaRich famous Curry Mee while Kimmy ordered Assam Laksa. For drinks, I've ordered Honey Lemon Tea while Kimmy ordered Ice Lemon Tea.

The curry mee is the most famous in PappaRich and I've heard many feedback that it was nice so I've decided to try it out. Now it depends on individuals see whether they like the taste of the curry or not. For me, I just moderately like it as the taste does not suit me. But for Kimmy, who tried out the curry mee said it was nice. It truly depending on your taste. The taste of the curry mee is a bit sour and plain as it's not spicy though. For the Honey Lemon Tea, it was nice and the taste was enough too. For Kimmy's Assam Laksa, she told alexleow-kimmy.com that the taste was good as she loves sour and spicy though. The soup was indeed very sour and spicyness was moderate. For me, I felt it's too sour and should have added more prawn paste and more spicy. The Ice Lemon Tea was normal and nice though.

The price was pretty expensive too. A bowl of mee costs us about RM9.50 and RM8.50 respectively and the portion was moderate. The bowl design was big but the portion was not up to the expectation. The bill came was about RM32.00 ++ including tax. If you would go for environment, of course PappaRich is better than those normal restaurants but for RM4.00 - RM5.00, you can find more better curry or assam mee than PappaRich. You judge yourself. Enjoy your day! MY RATING: 4/5; KIMMY RATING: 3.5/5
