My Comments: Happy early Valentines Day folks. Today ME & Kimmy had taken this golden opportunity to catch a movie since we have got nothing to do during the weekends especially on a Sunday evening. We have chosen the nearby cinema as our choice too and not a packed mall and cinema. We have chosen MBO Cinema located at Kepong Village Mall. It has been a while that both of us not been there and today we are here. I have high expectations towards this movie and it really exceeds my expectations as well. It was a great movie to watch especially the couples who are going to marry and not only that, it also suitable for the whole family and singles too. This movie talks about a high n low class marriage and the classification between it both. In between, it also talks about family love and most importantly, the jokes that make this story more interesting. The jokes was strong and enough to make all the audiences laugh out loud during the movie. Starring our local artist Ah Niu and other Hong Kong stars such as Elanne Kwong & Kara Hui, this movie sets to be Valentines blockbuster movie. The storyline was very well plotted and Adrian Teh did a very great job to keep the taste of the Singapore / Malaysian jokes going and going again. Well done! You will definitely not feel boring towards this movie and you wanted more instead. A superb movie to watch where it contains laughter, teary moments and a lot of moral to learn towards this movie. No doubt, you must watch this movie in cinema and I guess you will come out happily or smiling from the cinema after watching this movie. Go for it! MY RATING: 5/5 (SUPERB) ; KIMMY RATING: 5/5 (SUPERB)

My Comments: I missed the chance to watch it in Cinemas so I've decided to watch it at home instead by watching original DVD. It was indeed a great movie to watch and I can imagine that I am back to the life of the school days and it was indeed memorable. This story tells about a male and a female both known each other on the same class and they fell in love with each other. This guy is very playful and do not want to study until he knows this girl where he started to study after he know the girl as the girl taught him and finally he passed his exam thanks to her. Then both of them graduated and then extend their studies to university. There, their relationship began to turned sour and then they involved in an argument. After that, everything turns differently where the guy had become a novel writer while the girl will get married with a guy that she known while working. It was all memories till then where it's the guy turn to write the experience he had during adolescence time. It was a truly real and touching story for all to watch especially the young or adults where you can actually recall your school days memory. It was a well documented movie and congratulations to the director Giddens Ko who had apparently bring us back to old times. A great movie to watch with no regrets. MY RATING: 5/5

World News: Singer Whitney Houston dies at 48

Singer Whitney Houston dies at 48

By the CNN Wire Staff
February 12, 2012 -- Updated 0334 GMT (1134 HKT)

Whitney Houston sold more than 170 million albums, singles and videos during her career, according to her official website.
Whitney Houston sold more than 170 million albums, singles and videos during her career, according to her official website.

Los Angeles (CNN) -- Legendary pop singer Whitney Houston was found dead Saturday at a Beverly Hills, California, hotel, officials said. She was 48.

The entertainer, whose incredible talent was discovered at an early age, was pronounced dead at 3:55 p.m. (6:55 p.m. ET) at the Beverly Hilton hotel despite resuscitation efforts, a police spokesman said.

Beverly Hills Police Lt. Mark Rosen said there were "no obvious signs of criminal intent" and that the cause of her death is being investigated.

Houston's bodyguard found her body, said Courtney Barnes, publicist for hip-hop artist Ray J, who was dating the pop diva.

According to her official website, Houston sold more than 170 million albums, singles and videos. But she also struggled with addiction problems over the years.

Houston, whose hits included "The Greatest Love of All," died on the eve of the 54th annual Grammy Awards at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. She had performed as late as Thursday night at a pre-Grammy event in the area.

Music producer Jimmy Jam, after conversations with those heading up to Sunday's night show, told CNN that he believes the event will change significantly -- including a tribute to the singer.

Houston was set to appear in this year's "Sparkle," a remake of the 1976 hit, which was loosely based on the story of The Supremes. It was her first movie role since 1996's "The Preacher's Wife."

News of her death elicited a flood of reaction from fans and fellow celebrities alike.

Whitney Houston seemed 'in good spirits'

Singer Aretha Franklin said, "I just can't talk about it now. It's so stunning and unbelievable. I couldn't believe what I was reading coming across the TV screen. My heart goes out to Cissy (Houston's mother), her daughter Bobbi Kris, her family and Bobby (Brown)."

Dolly Parton, who wrote "I Will Always Love You," said, "mine is only one of the millions of hearts broken over the death of Whitney Houston. I will always be grateful and in awe of the wonderful performance she did on my song and I can truly say from the bottom of my heart, 'Whitney, I will always love you. You will be missed.'"

Another entertainment legend, Quincy Jones, said he was "absolutely heartbroken" by the news. "She was a true original and a talent beyond compare," he said.

Houston's body of work included a string of Billboard No. 1 hits in the 1980s, including "Saving All My Love for You," "How Will I Know," "The Greatest Love of All," "Where Do Broken Hearts Go," and "I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me.)"

Billboard put her soundtrack to the 1992 movie "The Bodyguard" as one of the top 10 biggest-selling albums of all time. She also starred in the film with Kevin Costner. The soundtrack included the hit,"I Will Always Love You."

Whitney Houston was born on August 9, 1963, in Newark, New Jersey.

Famed music producer Clive Davis reportedly spotted Houston 20 years later in a New York nightclub, signing her on the spot, according to her website. Davis steered Houston's career for more than 25 years, also serving as a mentor.

Just Thursday, Davis told CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight" that, with Houston, "I saw a depth and a range and soul ... that rarely ranks at the top level. And that's why we've been working together ever since."

The singer's rendition of the national anthem at the 1991 Super Bowl, days into the first Persian Gulf War, earned raves and cemented her place in the American musical landscape.

After "The Bodyguard," Houston went on to appear in several more films in the 1990s, including "Waiting to Exhale."

In 2000, Houston earned her sixth Grammy for best female R&B performance and, a month later, she was named female artist of the decade at the "Soul Train" Music Awards.

Her career stalled, however, in subsequent years as she entered rehab for addiction problems.

Houston took a hiatus for several years before releasing her first album in seven years, "I Look to You," in 2009.

"I just took a break, which sometimes you have to," said Houston. "You have to know when to slow that train down and kind of just sit back and relax for a minute."

In May 2011, Houston got help for her much-publicized struggle with drugs and alcohol, her representative said at the time.

In a 2009 interview with Oprah Winfrey, Houston recalled how her mother arrived one day at her doorstep at her daughter's house with sheriff's officers and a court order in a drug intervention. She talked about doing cocaine and smoking marijuana.

"(My mother) says, 'I have a court (injunction) here,'" Houston said. "Either you do it my way, or we're just not going to do this at all. We are both going to go on TV, and you're going to retire.'"

Houston had a high-profile and tumultuous marriage to Bobby Brown, a former "New Edition" star who has had multiple brushes with the law.

The couple appeared together in the mid-2000s on the reality show "Being Bobby Brown." They had one child together, Bobbi Kristina.

Houston was the cousin of Dionne Warwick, another acclaimed performer. Source: Cable News Network (CNN)

My Comments: Today is a great day where it's the last day of Chinese New Year and with this, ME & Kimmy would like to take this opportunity to visit the cinema to watch the last Chinese New Year movie before the celebrations ended. We have chosen All Well Ends Well 2012 at TGV Jusco Metro Prima and my expectations with this movie his high as I would expect something nice as last year movie. Well, this movie had dissapoints me a little bit compared to last year. The AWEW 2011 is much better than this one as it has a better laugh. OK. Let's get back to this movie review. The actor and actress are all the same as last year movie but with different roles. The stories talks about 3 couples and 1 family where in the first place, they (man & women) are looking for their lover and to find their suitable ones. This is a comedy romance movie that would make you laugh but with very little scenes only this time around. The jokes are building up when the movie goes on but still with limited laughs. It is a very meaningful movie overall where it teaches us to cherish your lover and not hurt them. It was a great Chinese New Movie romance movie to watch but if you would go for the laughter, you may be a little bit dissapointed. With the big casts in the movie such as Raymond Wong, Donnie Yen, Louis Koo, Chapman To, Sandra Ng, Kelly Chan & Lyn Xiong, the actor and actress acted tremendously good in this movie and you will not get bored too. Overall it's a nice movie but just it lacked of jokes in this movie. I would still recommend you to watch this movie. Enjoy! MY RATING: 4/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 4/5

Gathering & Food: Restoran Drunk Cat & My Honeymoon Dessert House, Kuchai Lama

Hello folks,

Welcome back to yet another edition of KTC Gang Gathering where today 8 of us meet up to have our Chinese New Year dinner. Although it's a little bit late to have this dinner, but we are still energetic to gather up and we did have a great night chit chatting as so long time we never met up already for some friends. Firstly, we would like to thank our organizer May Low for organizing such a meaningful event supported by some of our friends mainly Yen Peng and Jason Ng. Thank You very much guys.

Today attendees including ME, Kimmy, Kuek, Steve, Fong Chin, May Low, Jason Ng and Yen Peng. Firstly, we have our dinner at Drunk Cat Restaurant situated at Kuchai Lama. We ordered a Yee Sang and 4 main dishes including a Fish, Mushroom, Pork Ribs and Tofu. For drinks, we ordered a pot of Chinese Tea. Overall, the food tastes good and recommended to come over here but the price is a bit expensive as we need to pay about RM250 for 5 dishes (including Yee Sang). OVERALL FOOD RATING: 4/5

Then we continue our second round of chit chatting nearby and we have chosen My Honeymoon Dessert House as our next destination. The desserts over here are not as good as Snowflakes and the price is pretty expensive as well. Frankly, the desserts over here just tastes average. We ordered about 5 desserts including a Durian Pancake, Mix Flakes Yam and Mix Flakes Mango flavour. These tastes average and not as nice as snowflakes and the Durian pancake is not as good as A Little Dim Sum Place. I would not recommend you to come over here to try out their desserts and instead I recommend you to go to Snowflakes for better dessert experience. OVERALL FOOD RATING: 3/5

We ended our gathering at about 10.00pm as some of us need to work tomorrow. In the year of the Water Dragon, I would like to wish all KTC Gang Members a great year ahead and always stay healthy wherever you guys are! Huat ah!!!!

Food Hunt: Restoran Tua Huat, SS2, Petaling Jaya

Dear All,

Welcome back again to yet another edition of the Food Hunt and today ME & Alan had a fruitful afternoon and special thanks to my brother Alan who had eventually introduce a great place for Loh Mee and it's all the way from Ulu Yam. He brought me to Restoran Tua Huat at SS2 in Petaling Jaya. He told me that this restaurant is packed during weekdays afternoon (during workdays) and you have to wait while it's best to go weekends afternoon as the crowd is not that much as you still get a place to sit. This restaurant serves the best Loh Mee in town and other mee as well. Check it out!

We reached the restaurant at about 1.30pm and there's less crowd inside the restaurant. We sat down and then we were served with the menu. The menu is quite simple and it took us about 3 minutes to decide what to eat. We ordered a medium sized Loh Mee (RM12.00) and a 'Fan Shu Miu' Vegetables medium sized (RM8.00). For drinks, we've ordered the Chrysanthemum Tea (RM1.50 each). It does not take very long for the food to arrive as there's not many people and we are amazed with the portion of the medium sized Loh Mee. Alan told me that the Medium Loh Mee Size can cater up to 2-3 persons while a Large Loh Mee can cater for 4-5 persons and that costs about RM18.00 for a large ones. You can also go for a single plate which costs about RM6.50 per plate.

Fish Cake

Loh Mee

Fan Shu Miu

Here we go! The Loh Mee claimed by Alan is originally from Ulu Yam and what I wanted to say is I cannot identify how the Ulu Yam Loh Mee taste but eventually I love the taste of the Loh Mee here and it's simply awesome and delicious. The pork lard was simply delicious and nice to drink. You must add the vinegar to eat together with the Loh Mee for maximum great taste as what I have did. Me & Alan had a great time enjoying the signature Loh Mee and we vowed to come back again next time to eat it again. For the 'Fan Shu Miu' vegetables, it was very sweet, fresh and delicious too. We love our meal today and we left the restaurant with a thousand smiles. Besides Alan also introduces other dishes that are famous and delicious here and we will try it next time. The dishes including Fish Cake made from Ikan Parang for starters, Claypot yam pork-rib mee & 'Kau Yuk' mee hoon. If you come in large groups (4-5 persons), you are able to try all the famous dishes over here and you will not regret.

Claypot Yam Pork-Rib Mee

Kau Yuk Mee Hoon

The price for the food that we order above is pretty reasonable based on the portion of the food. The medium sized Loh Mee and the 'Fan Shu Miu' vegetables was large sized although it was classified as medium sized only. The price we pay is RM22.00 including drinks. We are very satisfied and happy with the food over there and no need to say, I would recommend you to come over here to try out the signature dish that I just introduce to you all just now. Enjoy! MY RATING: 5/5 (PERFECT); ALAN RATING: 5/5 (PERFECT)

Food Hunt: Samosa Cafe And Catering, Taman Billion. Cheras

Dear All,

Welcome back to yet another edition of Food Hunt as the Food Hunt of the year of the water dragon continues where we visited the famous Kaki Corner area situated at Taman Billion, Cheras to crave for Western Food. Today ME & Kimmy had waited for this time as we are tired of the Chinese Food especially we always eat during this festive season. We have chosen Samosa Cafe & Catering as our choice as we never tried this before and heard some of my friends said it's nice.

We reached the restaurant at about 7.45pm and the crowd is building up and the seats are still available inside the restaurant. You can opt to sit outside as well as there are many seats available too as the place is huge with 2 shop lots + open air seating. We sat down and then began to look at the menu. It looks attractive especially their set menu as every of the set menu consists of a mushroom soup, a drink and a main course. I've ordered the Grilled Lamb Chop Set (RM22.90) while Kimmy ordered the Grilled Chicken Chop Set (RM15.90). For drinks, Kimmy ordered the Longan Lemon Ice while I ordered Honey Lemon Ice. Both of our main course served together with Black Pepper Sauce. You can opt for Mushroom Sauce as well.

It does not take very long for the food to arrive and the portion of the food is pretty big and it's value for money too. The Grilled Lamb Shop Set that I've ordered is value for money based on the price. I am given 2 pieces of Lamb Chop and each pieces are average big in size and it was value for money. About the taste of the Lamb Chop served together with the Black Pepper Sauce, the taste is good but the food over here is pretty cold and not hot enough. Furthermore, the Black Pepper Sauce is not so tasty and spicy but the meat is fresh. I enjoyed the meat very much. About the side dishes served such as Potato Wedges and Some Vegetables, these does not dissapoins as well and it is nice. For Kimmy's Grilled Chicken Chop Set, the same case happening to me and the chicken is fresh too except for the black pepper sauce is not so tasty and spicy while the food is pretty cold and not hot enough. Kimmy had rated this chicken chop as average only. For the mushroom soup, it's just average as it does not have enough mushroom taste since they serve a lot of mushroom starch. For the drinks, the Longan Lemon Ice is good which for the Honey Lemon, it taste a bit sour with less honey taste. They cut cost on their honey.

The price we pay is actually RM42.00++ including the service tax and I think the price is just reasonable. Some might think it's pretty expensive but with this price we pay we get 3 things which is the mushroom soup, drinks and a main course and as for me, I think it's pretty reasonable. I've also ordered the Lamb Chop which consists of 2 pieces at the price of RM22.90. I would still recommend you to come over here to try out their food as it will not dissapoints you but do not put high expectations towards the food on this restaurant. Enjoy! MY RATING: 3.5/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 3/5

Dear All,

Welcome back to yet another edition of Food Hunt. Today ME & Alan had a special invitation where we are invited to Kushi Q located at Tropicana City Mall to try out the Kushi Bento Set that is not released yet at the market. The Kushi Bento Set consists of Salad, Bowl Of Rice, Meat Selection From Grill, Glass of Green Tea and Fruits as well as Desserts as well. You will not find in the menu as for now but you still can try them separately as well as they have ala-carte and set as well.

Based on the picture, the Kushi Bento set contains a glass of green tea, watermelon, miso soup, Salad, Egg Rice, 2 Satay Chicken Sticks and a fried chicken. Some of the food can be found individually on the menu and some haven't release just yet. Overall, the Bento Set is good and I love the taste too especially the miso soup which is pretty tasty as well. The 2 satay chicken sticks which was marinated with its sauce tastes good and awesome. The egg rice tastes great and the watermelon is sweet and juicy as well. The fried chicken is plain and not so tasty as it seems and the salad was good too. Other than that it taste just very good as well for overall taste. Previously I have visited this blog and I have gave a very good marks towards the food that we've ordered although is not full marks. Check it out here: http://www.alexleow-kimmy.com/2011/08/food-hunt-kushi-q-restaurant-tropicana.html.

One day, he finds out that the world is facing a deadly threat and the chance arises to him to become a news sensation. This is when the fun, laughter and havoc come in place.

__________________________________________________________

My Comments: This is a sequel of I Love Hong Kong 2011 and this year's comedy is almost the same as in the year 2011 but this time with slightly less artistes participate in this movie. But I received a lot of bad comments towards this movie and some says this movie is boring and fall asleep in the cinema. I go to watch it and I would like to prove the critics wrong. Actually after all of this comments, I had a bad feeling and do not put high expectations towards this movie and just watch for fun. After the movie started from the starting till the end, it was a rather exciting and entertaining movie to watch. With the stars of Eric Tsang, Teresa Mo, Bosco Wong and Denise Ho, this characters would make you laugh all the way and there's tons of jokes towards this movie and it promises its audiences with fun and joy during this festive season. I would say this movie had a lot of scenes and it's quite complicated in the first place until it combines all together after half of the movie shown and then you will understand more. It talks about a family where the quarrel due to lots of circumstances and then at the end of the movie, the would reunite to a Happy Family with a good understanding and joy. It's a great family movie to watch for all walks of life. Totally recommended movie. Enjoy! MY RATING: 5/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 5/5
