Food Hunt: Kushi Q Restaurant, Tropicana City Mall

It's dinner time again and ME & Kimmy was in search yet again for good food. As we walked across the Lower Ground Floor (LG), we manage to find a small Japanese restaurant where here they actually served Bento sets as well as BBQ Grilled as well. Introducing the Kushi Q Restaurant which was located just next to the Basement Parking escalator.

We take a look at the menu and without any hesitation, Kimmy had suggested that we try this restaurant. We arrived at the restaurant at around 7.15pm and it was pretty crowded as well provided it was a small restaurant. Still we managed to find a place to sit and it's located inside the restaurant. It was a small yet cozy restaurant and it was pretty comfortable as well. Once we sat down, we were immediately served with the menu and it took us about 3 minutes to look at the menu and then decide what to eat. Due to this, we are also dissapointed because the chicken were all sold out that time and we got no other choice to order 2 sets of Fish Bento (RM11.90 each). We've also planned to try the BBQ Grilled Chicken but as mentioned earlier, it was then sold out. The Bento sets comes with rice, fish, salad, miso soup, watermelon and a cup of Green Tea. There's a lot of Bento choices to choose from ranging from Chicken, Seafood, Fish etc.

The Fish Bento was rather nice too and it does not dissapoints us. I was surprised that the dish does not dissapoints us and it was nice too. But the portion of the Bento sets looks rather average and if you are a big eater, I would say it's not enough for you and you vowed to order other food over there. If it does happens to you, do try out the BBQ Grilled Satay Sticks which was claims by many bloggers that it was very nice indeed. There are several flavours and choices to choose from and also set for it as well. I miss a chance to try it because it was sold out the time I reach there.

Overall, the Fish Bento set we've ordered is nice and we are satisfied about it. About the price, it was pretty reasonable but still not the cheapest as the portion given is just average for the price we pay (RM11.90). I would strongly recommend you to try out this restaurant to try out the Bento sets and the BBQ Grilled Satay Sticks as well. I would definitely go back to try their food again but this time I am sure to try their BBQ Grilled Satay Sticks and their Chicken Bento as well. Enjoy! MY RATING: 5/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 4/5

My Comments: It's yet another movie day for ME & Kimmy and today both of us had visited Tropicana City Mall for shopping and of course we did not go home empty handed as well. In the same time, we had went to GSC Tropicana City Mall to watch a Chinese Comedy movie that was filmed back here in Malaysia with a bunch of famous Chinese Artist from Hong Kong and Malaysia itself with our very own famous ASTRO Deejays. It was a perfect combination and it's a big achievement for our movie industry and I would like to congratulate all of the artists and the movie director of making this movie a success.

Alright, although we had a great combination but unfortunately the storyline is not up to our expectations and it's very fake indeed. I mean this movie is supposed to talk about the popular kung fu named Wing Chun but instead this movie is making a laugh out of the Wing Chun kung fu. Futhermore this movie does not contain any logic especially when they entered the Wing Chun street where all the scenes cannot be accepted and it's all FOOL! In the beginning, this movie gave a good impression of the movie until the movie goes pretty INSANE at the middle until the end of the movie. I would also say that the storyline is very rocky and ripped off as well. The thing that I would love to see in this movie is the cast where it contains several outstanding and famous casts from Hong Kong including Yuen Wah, Yuen Qiu and the famous Natalie Chan Pak Cheong. For our local artists, the ones who are famous including Gan Mei Yan (MYFM DJ), Jeff Chin (MYFM DJ), Angel Wong (MYFM DJ) and Lai Ming which at least gives this movie something to see and cheer about. The jokes in this movie looks acceptable but still it lacked of something and in times it looks pretty dull too.

I would not recommend you to watch this movie considering there's a lot of nice movie out there but if you love to laugh and especially to watch the cast of stars, then this movie is very suitable for you. Frankly, I would say the best actor in this movie goes to Yuen Wah and the best actress still goes to Yuen Qiu who had lead the whole movie into success as they are the more experienced ones in this movie. Others all were just supporting the role on this movie while there are also several casts who actually co-star in this movie including Pak Leong Kum, Mak Bao and many more and their acting was too good as they had experience too. I would still rate this movie as average considering some good and bad points about this movie. Enjoy! MY RATING: 3/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 3/5

Nani's injury-time goal settled a wonderful Community Shield as Manchester United roared back from two goals down to beat Manchester City 3-2.

Nani had already netted a jaw-dropping leveller in what turned out to be the highest-scoring of these encounters since 1992. He then capitalised on Vincent Kompany's blunder to win a game that seemed City's for the taking after Joleon Lescott and Edin Dzeko had taken advantage of David de Gea's hesitancy.

But Sir Alex Ferguson's introduction of three younger members of his squad at the break triggered a comeback for which United are so famed, Chris Smalling setting the ball rolling six minutes after the restart, triggering a richly-deserved victory charge for the Premier League champions.

It had been some 24 hours for Danny Welbeck. Selected for England ahead of Jermain Defoe on Saturday, he started this afternoon's showpiece whilst Dimitar Berbatov was on the bench and Michael Owen remained in his suit. The 20-year-old was part of a scintillating performance from the Red Devils that lacked only an opening goal.

Between them, Welbeck, Wayne Rooney, Nani and new signing Ashley Young cut City's midfield apart. Had United's final ball been better, they surely would have got their noses in front.

As it was, Lescott got in the way of efforts from Young, Smalling and Welbeck. Rooney curled a free-kick narrowly wide.

City's tackling grew increasingly desperate and after Mario Balotelli and Dzeko had got themselves embroiled with Nemanja Vidic and Anderson respectively, Micah Richards was fortunate to stay on the field for a studs-first lunge on Young that sent the former Aston Villa winger flying.

Referee Phil Dowd felt the need to issue some strict instructions to Blues skipper Kompany after another shuddering lunge from Nigel de Jong, this time on Welbeck.

How quickly circumstances can change.

Ferguson has already admitted to taking a gamble on De Gea, who - at just 20 - is being asked to fill the boots of a man with twice his age in Edwin van der Sar.

It had been accepted by Old Trafford's coaching staff that some work was required in the weights room for De Gea to have the best chance of dealing with the more physical nature of English football.

His lack of bulk may be the reason why he opted against coming for Silva's teasing free-kick seven minutes before the break. Neither Vidic nor Rio Ferdinand got themselves in position to make a challenge and Lescott calmly flicked it into the corner.

It got even worse for United, and De Gea, in stoppage time.

Dzeko was given far too much room in midfield to decide what to do with James Milner's square pass and after advancing 10 yards, lashed a fine shot into the United net.

It was one of those that, on first viewing, appeared to be De Gea's fault. Replays showed there had been some movement as the ball flashed in, which made life harder for the Spain Under-21 international.

However, there was a degree of culpability and clearly, De Gea is on a steep learning curve, not just in his goalkeeping but also United's DNA.

Ferguson's response was to replace three of his most senior players - Vidic, Ferdinand and Michael Carrick - at the break and introduce a trio of youngsters in Phil Jones, Jonny Evans and Tom Cleverley.

Within six minutes of the restart, Smalling had dragged the champions back into it, touching home Young's free-kick after Dzeko had completely failed to track his run.

Then came the equaliser, with Rooney, Nani and Cleverley opening City up with a devastating series of short passes before Nani beat Joe Hart with a delicate chip.

De Gea showed his raw talent by beating away a ferocious goalbound effort from Adam Johnson, then palming Richards' powerful header over.

The City duo were two of 14 Englishmen involved. The oldest member of United's second-half side was Young, at 26, during a spell following the departure of Patrice Evra and Dimitar Berbatov's introduction.

It was a taste of the future, with Cleverley in particular electrifying until he hooked an excellent chance over from eight yards.

Food Hunt: Chicken Hot Pot Restaurant (重庆鸡公煲), SS2 Mall, Petaling Jaya

Welcome back to a packed Sunday where today after checking out from Equatorial Hotel, ME & Kimmy had met up and then decided to go for shopping. Before we go for shopping, we've decided to go for lunch and this time we have selected Chicken Hot Pot Restaurant located at SS2 Mall. This is the first time I've been there to have my lunch and of course I received a lot of good feedback about this restaurant where the food was totally amazing.

Without any hesitation, I went there with Kimmy and we reach the restaurant at about 2.00pm and the crowd is a lot too occupying a lot of tables inside the restaurant. Once we sat down, we were immediately served with the menu. There's a lot of varieties to choose from and it took us about 10 minutes to choose what type of hot pot that we wanted. There are several choices of hot pot including dinosaur ribs, beef behemoth, chicken pot and so on. Finally we have decided to try on the Chicken Hot Pot (RM26.80) (Medium) (Medium Hot) as Kimmy would love to eat chicken. It took the food quite long to come where we have to wait approximately 20 minutes before the food arrives. It was pretty slow as well for the food to be served. Fro drinks, I've ordered Coke (RM3.20) while Kimmy ordered Hot Green Tea (RM2.80).

When the Chicken Hot Pot reached us, we are pretty amazed as the portion is pretty big (for a medium size pot) but the chicken served is full of bones and less meat. The gravy served was very special and nice to eat. The fragrance that came out from the pot was pretty nice and we just simply love the taste. We did enjoy our time consuming the lovely pot and to drink and eat its gravy as well with 2 big rice (RM1.20 each). I would totally recommend you to try out this lovely hot pot and other hot pot as well such as dinosaur ribs and beef behemoth as I've got feedback from other bloggers stated that these pots are very good indeed as well. They've also said that after your meal, you can convert the hot pot into a steamboat pot where they will add the soup for you (RM1.80) and you can take the ingredients by yourself at additional charge from RM1 to RM4 per plate (Ala Carte) depending on what you take. What a new way and style to eat and unfortunately I did not try to convert this hot pot into the steamboat pot because we are already full. Perhaps, we can try this next time.

The price for this hot pot is definitely very expensive but I would say the food is up to its standard. It was very nice and it depends on you whether are you willing to pay this price or not. For ME, if it's nice then I would willing to spend it for the quality of food I get. There are 3 types of pot which can be categorized at small pot, medium and big pot. Besides, you are allowed to choose the spiciness of the pot whether it's mild, medium or very spicy. The bill that came to me is RM34.00++ after service charge with no government tax. Travel: Hotel Equatorial, Kuala Lumpur

Hello folks,

Welcome back to yet another travel segment prepared exclusively on alexleow-kimmy.com. Special thanks to my brother Alan Leow who eventually got a FREE ROOM for us to stay at Hotel Equatorial in Kuala Lumpur and without any hesitation, I would go and try out and to see how's the hotel facilities that would hopefully impress me.

I checked in quite late yesterday at about 11.45pm while Alan arrived early. It's pretty easy to find parking at their basement because not many people parked their car there due to expensive parking rate and then most of the hotel guests did not drive their car over there because they did not drive either.

Once I stepped into the hotel lobby, I looked not impressive at all because it does not look like a lobby. It looks to me like a security guard counter that guide us up all the way to the floors like those 'Wisma' type of feeling. In the meantime, the security wise is pretty poor as well. Never mind, once I stepped into their room, I look so dissapointed rather with our superior room. So does Alan as well. First of all, the bed is very small size and it's not comfortable as well to fit both of us. The TV meanwhile is just CRT TV which is kinda old and poor especially this hotel is located in the city center. The toilet meanwhile is pretty small and nothing special about it. You may refer the photos for more information. The view of the hotel from 8th floor is pretty bad because there's not much view that you can see. Even, the view of KLCC was blocked too particularly the hotel only have 10++ floors that was partially covered by those high rise buildings. There's no free WIFI or LAN in your room and it's chargeable.

During the morning breakfast, we had dine in at the Nipah Coffeehouse located at Lower Ground Floor of the hotel. The varieties of the food served is pretty limited and in my opinion, it does not meet the international hotels as well. They did served our local and western cuisine and the most impressed food for me including the 'mee mamak' and the 'nasi goreng kampung' that was really nice and good to eat. Other western delicacies looks pretty normal and some really not nice at all. We are not allowed to take any photos at the lobby or at the coffeehouse as it was banned.

Overall, I would not recommend you this hotel while you are on your stay at Kuala Lumpur. You can have more options to choose from ranging from Mandarin Oriental, Shangri-La Hotel or Renaissance Hotel which is quite near to city center and near to those tourist destination. This hotel is not up to the international standard as well as not up to the standard in the city center and I would rate this hotel as 3 stars only and not 4 stars as given. Food Hunt: Marco's Pizza, Kelana Jaya

Welcome back to yet another edition of Food Hunt and it's the weekend already on a Ramadan month. It was indeed a great pleasure to be with you again as ME & Alan had decided to go for some pizza action together with my cousin Panny Liew. The 3 of us are dining in and of course we ordered 2 large pizzas and a 1.5L COKE bottle.

We reached the restaurant at around 12.15pm and there are very less crowd indeed at the restaurant. Only 2-3 tables out of 20 tables occupied and it was indeed very quiet as well because it was also due to Ramadan period. Once we sat down, we looked at the menu and then it took us about 10 minutes to look at the menu until we decided what to order. We've ordered 1 large 12" Marco's Supreme Pizza (RM31.80) and 1 large 12" Salmon Affumicato (RM31.80) as well as a 1.5L COKE bottle (RM5.80). With this amount of size of the pizzas, it can actually accommodate at least 3 persons for this meal and you have no worries.

It took the pizzas to reach our tables at about 15 minutes and we are satisfied with the service provided as the food does not take very long for it to reach us. We had an enjoyable time chit chatting while waiting for the food to arrive. Let's talk about the pizzas rating now. The Marco's Supreme Pizza is one of the signature dish for Marco's Pizza. When I tried it, it was nice and then the ingredients that was given on top the pizza were pretty much and a lot too. The taste was good but you must eat it during when the pizza is hot or else once it's cold, it tastes not so nice. It was their real signature dish that contains Smoked Beef Pepperoni, Turkey Ham, Mozzarella Cheese and many more. For the Salmon Affumicato pizza, it was rather nice too except the salmon smell is pretty heavy and you can smell a little bit of stinginess. After you melt or put it into your mouth, you won't feel that anymore and now you can taste the real salmon and the flavour itself. It was indeed nice as per recommendation from the menu. The ingredients that was given on top the pizza were pretty much and a lot too. For the drinks, there's no comment as it was a standard 1.5L COKE bottle.

The price meanwhile was pretty expensive but you get what you pay. For the price of RM78.00++ for 2 large pizzas and a 1.5L drink, you can eventually eat a lot at other pizza outlets such as Pizza Hut and Dominos Pizza but do bear in mind that the ingredients that matters here. Marco's Pizza had given it's customer total satisfaction on its ingredients as it contains a lot and it was indeed fresh as well compared to other pizzas. The taste is as good as Domino's but were much better than Pizza Hut. I would rather pay this amount for the food I get and I was totally satisfied with the food and the cozy environment as well.
