Food Hunt: Menya Musashi Restaurant (Isetan 1 Utama Shopping Centre, Petaling Jaya)

Welcome back to yet another edition of Food Hunt. Today ME & Kimmy is at 1 Utama Shopping Centre for some shopping and in the same time we had our dinner there. We have chosen this restaurant that was recommended by my friend and the restaurant name is called Menya Musashi Restaurant located inside Isetan 1 Utama (inside Eat Paradise 2nd Floor). We reached the restaurant at about 7.30pm and it was pack and full. We waited for about 15 minutes before we found our seat.
Once we sat down, we browse through the menu and this is what we've ordered:

1.) Ki Musashi (RM26.00)
2.) Miso Shiro Ramen (RM27.00)
3.) Green Tea X 2 (RM2.00 each)

We waited for about 10 minutes and then the food arrived. The service is good and fast although it's packed. This restaurant is famous for its Ramen and without any hesitation, we ordered and try it out. The Ki Musashi Ramen is a must try when you reach this restaurant. This Ramen Noodle is served with mild spicy broth and it comes with a few pieces of pork slices, an egg and some vegetables as well. The broth is superb and the Ramen is nice too. Meanwhile for Miso Shiro Ramen, it was just so-so and the broth served is not as nice as the Ki Musashi Ramen.

We paid for about RM66.10 for this meal together with an additional 10% Service Charge and 6% Government Tax. It was superbly expensive based on the portion we get and the price. Overall, we do enjoy the meal over here but it's pricey. Enjoy the food! RECOMMENDATION: YES ; RATING: 4/5

My Comments: Today we went to TGV 1 Utama to catch the latest flick from Scarlett Johansson and it's called Lucy. Scarlett Johansson is famous for its sexy body and it's great capability of acting as well. This is a direct Sci-Fi movie which gives its audiences a lot to think about and of course a lot of talking point. This movie talks about human brains which we uses about 10% of our human brain to function in our daily lives but Lucy uses about 90% of her brain and what is the causes and consequences about this. This movie is a pretty complicated movie and it has a lot of talking point. Why Lucy is using 90% of it's brain? It's because she took a drug implanted into her body changing her into a superwoman as she can absorb knowledge instantaneously. What will happen to her at last? You have to watch this movie. This movie is strictly for 18 years and above only and then it's recommended for you to watch this movie too. Enjoy! MY RATING: 4/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 4/5

Festival: Happy 57th Merdeka Malaysia

Happy 57th Independance Day Malaysia!

Well, the first question in my mind is what does MERDEKA means to you? For me, Merdeka means we want a good, fair and civilized government who really take care of it's own people. This is what Merdeka really means for us. By having a corrupted and unfair government with no freedom of speech, this would really effect the people so much and this is not going to happen right here in Malaysia.

Merdeka is a day to remember where our country were freed from the other nations civilizations. We were then take over by our first prime minister, Tuanku Abdul Rahman and after that the Barisan Nasional had taken over the government for like 57 years. We will always remember this day as long as the government does not misuse its powers and to put a big pressure on the people. All of us Malaysians celebrates Merdeka together in peaceful and harmony with different cultures together as we must stand put and put our hands together to tackle difficult times to ensure our country that we lived are in peace and harmony state.

My Comments: I am at GSC Paradigm Mall today to catch the movie The Expendables 3 and since I did watch the first and second installment, the two movies are equally nice and action packed with some brutal scenes. Now here comes the third installment and the almost the same old famous actor flooded this movie including Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Harrison Ford, Mel Gibson and of course the new faces that appeared in this movie including Antonio Banderas, Victor Ortiz, Robert Davi, Kellan Lutz and Ronda Rousey. The new faces did a great job as supporting actors/actress against the famous actor and it did impress me.

For me this movie gives me a lot of action packed scenes and of course a lot of good jokes for us to laugh at as well. The storyline is very clear cut as the good guy hit back at the bad guy once again. If you remembered Stonebanks who co-founded The Expendables with Barney in the first installment and he appeared in the third installment and this time trying to end The Expendables. Barney lead the charge of defending The Expendables and this movie was equally impressive than the first and second installment. It was running for about 120 minutes and I would promise you that this movie is not boring at all and it bring you full of jokes and action packed excitement. 

 

I would strongly recommend you to watch this movie and please be informed that this movie is rated 18SG and it's suitable to watch if you're 18 and above. This time the movie does not contain any brutality scenes and it's just normal shooting and killing scenes. Enjoy the movie. MY RATING: 5/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 5/5

Food Hunt: Betty's Midwest Kitchen, Aman Suria, Petaling Jaya (Part 2)

Welcome back to yet another edition of Food Hunt. Today ME & Kimmy had planned over to Betty's Midwest Kitchen and it's Kimmy's birthday. This is our 2nd visit here since our last visit on May 1st 2014. Today we try other menu at the restaurant and we do expect the main course to be tasty. This is what we've ordered:

1.) Beer Boston Butt (RM33.90)
2.) Baby Back Rib (RM37.90)
3.) Stewant's Root Beer (RM7.00)
4.) Hot Lemon Tea (RM5.00)

We reached the restaurant at about 1.00pm and the crowd was not as much as during dinner time. We only waited for about 10 minutes and the food finally arrives. We share among the food to try out which is the best. The Beer Boston Butt steak is simply fantastic. The sauce is nice (sauce tastes like Chinese Pork Sauce) and the pork meat is soft and it's nearly into perfection. It also comes with mashed potatoes, green beans and 2 slices of carrot. This is one of the best Pork steak that I ever try before in my entire life. Super recommended to order it. Next up is the Baby Back Rib. This is also another super recommended steak to order. The ribs are grilled into perfection and it tastes marvelous. It also comes with french fries and salad. Both of these dishes has its own delicious taste and then the portion is big and it's worth the price we are paying.

Stewant's Root Beer (RM7.00) + Hot Lemon Tea (RM5.00)

About the drinks, another must try item at Betty's Midwest Kitchen would be the Stewant's Root Beer. It's 100% originally imported from USA. It tastes much better than A&W Root Beer and it's of course a premium Root Beer as well. You should try it. The Hot Lemon Tea meanwhile is just normal and nothing special to shout about.

For the price of about RM92.20 (inclusive of 10% Service Charge), we do have a wonderful and fantastic meal and I would never forget about it. The price is reasonable for the portion and the taste. No doubt about it, you MUST come over and try out their steaks over here especially the ones I recommended on this post. Totally worth the money and time spent here. Enjoy your food! I would like to wish to my precious wife Kimmy Chung a blessed birthday. Today it's her birthday and of course I am very happy for her too. Last year is our most memorable birthday of the year as we celebrated our ROM. This year we are getting married (based on Chinese Customs) and we are looking forward for it especially during the month of December. We will be sending out invitations to you all. My Comments:  Today we have a planned movie outing and we are anticipated with another Marvel comic movie called Guardians Of The Galaxy. This movie features a lot of superheroes and in the same time the movie concept is just like the second Star Wars or Star Trek. It was a truly great and funny movie to catch and my expectation is low towards this movie but a few days before I am going to watch this movie, good comments started to pour in as I read reviews and comments and it says superb. Then I started to keep my expectation high and once I finished this movie, I found it simply amazing. Director James Gunn have done well by creating this masterpiece and I believe it had turned into great returns. With casts like Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldana, this movie is set to be another Marvel Center Stage with marvelous fireworks. 

The story talks about the guardians who guarded the galaxy and they are fighting each other in order to control the orb. The orb is a strong and powerful tool and those who earned it will be able to control and in the same time destroy the galaxy as well. It will be the bad guy named Ronan who wanted to steal the orb and control the galaxy by destroying the tribes and troops on the planet of Xandar. Can he do it or can the U.S. pilot named Peter Quill (also known as Star-Lord) stopped this mess together with his friends (Guardian Of The Galaxy)? This movie contains lots of action and jokes and it was evenly between these two. The most noticeable character in this movie is definitely the Groot. The Groot is the only mighty tree in this movie who only says "I AM GROOT" & "WE ARE GROOT" for the entire movie until the end. 

The movie is easy to understand and it also contains some heartbreaking moments too. It's easy to understand and kids will simply love this movie as well. I can tell you that this movie is not boring at all and you will be always awake. I would strongly recommend you to watch this movie with your whole family, couples or even yourself (alone) as this movie is a highly anticipated movie for Marvel Comic lovers besides the famous Captain America, Thor and so on. This is a special and the first space movie that Marvel Comic had done before and they have done successfully well. And don't forget after you finish the movie, do not leave your seats as there's an end scene credit will be shown after the ending credits being shown and it has some connection with Howard The Duck. My Comments: Today ME & Kimmy spend our extended pre-holidays session for yet another movie and today we watch this movie at GSC Tropicana City Mall. This movie is called the Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes. This movie features the apes and human kind where both are struggling to maintain the good relationships in between and then it has become a war and an even bigger war in future. The apes blamed the human kind where they were then being experimented and the apes suffered from it. Meanwhile the apes would wanted to seek revenge and then to do the same to human kind. With this it would spark a cold war between the apes and humans. The storyline is easy to understand and at times it was quite boring until the action appears. The casts meanwhile are just average except Andy Serkis who is quite a famous actor. 

 

I would say this movie gives its audiences a lot of grieves and of course you need to prepare tissue papers. There are a lot of sad and touching moments that you can see especially the apes and when the apes reacted with human kind as well. It was a good balanced movie between love, fight and sorrow and it was watchable at the end of 130 minutes. Kids will love this but still it's under parental guidance as well. I would recommend you to watch this movie although it's little boring at times but the movie still manage to live up the expectations with some real battle between the apes and human kind.
