My Comments: Finally I have applied for the GSC-EON Bank Credit Card. In my opinion, it was a brilliant card for movie goers as you can enjoy fantastic discounts while enjoying your movie. This card that benefits me most is the Bonus Value. Upon approval of your credit card, you will received RM60.00 (Gold Card) or RM100 (Platinum Card) bonus value (see pictures above) as you can do redemption to offset your ticket price. Example, if you purchase a RM22.00 movie tickets and you will enjoy 10% discount on each ticket as well as 50% redemption to offset the Bonus Value. So you just need to pay RM10.00 for 1 pair of tickets (2 tickets). After you have finished the Bonus Value, then you will just enjoy the 10% discount on tickets. It's still worth it. Besides, upon approval, you will also get many exciting vouchers that you can use while paying with the GSC-EON Bank Credit Card such as Buy 1 Free 1, 10 - 50% discount vouchers etc. (please see pictures). I am very satisfy with this card and if you are a movie goers who always visit to GSC, then this card is truly for you. Enjoy the benefits! RATING: 5/5

SEA Games: Malaysia beats Vietnam 1-0 in final

VIENTIANE: Malaysia finally ended its 20-year gold drought in the SEA Games men’s football competition, when it defeated Vietnam 1-0 in the final played at the Main Stadium of the National Sports Complex in Vientiane on Thursday.

The National Under-23 boys, who came here as non-medal prospects, pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the Games to win the gold. Malaysia last won the football gold in the Kuala Lumpur SEA Games in 1989, with a 1-0 victory over Singapore. Vietnam's Mai Xuan Hop (right) weeps as the Malaysians celebrate their 1-0 victory in the Laos SEA Games football final. The ‘winner’ came courtesy of an own goal by Vietnam’s Mai Xuan Hop’s in the 84th minute of a toughly-fought final. The football gold medal was also Malaysia’s 40th gold medal in Vientiane.
The victory was all the more sweeter as the Malaysians had lost 1-3 to Vietnam in a group match on Dec 6. Earlier, the young Malaysians had knocked out defending champions Thailand 2-1 in the group stage to win a place in the semi-finals. Then in the last four, they downed Laos 3-1 in front of a sell-out 20,000 fans. Source: The Star Malaysia 17/12/09

My Comments: Finally after 20 years of waiting, Malaysian football finally found its pride and it had been proved on tonight match as they had finally won the Sea Games Gold Medal. It was indeed a proud performance from the young Malaysian side who did very well in their last 3 matches beginning when they beat Thailand. I believe many people will be very shocked and happy to see the results because normally Malaysia will not go away as champions but tonight is indeed their night again. I would like to take this golden opportunity to congratulate the Malaysian team for winning the Gold Medal and my advise was don't be just too happy or too proud about winning the sea games medal and the team should continue to improve games by games and try to show maturity in every match. There's still a long journey to go and we hope our success does not stop here only. Gambateh! Our dear National Team! :)

World News: Thousands flee Philippines volcano

Thousands of people living near the slopes of Mount Mayon in the central Philippines have fled their homes after the volcano spewed lava and sent ash plumes high into the air. Soldiers and police oversaw the evacuation around the Mayon volcano on Tuesday, amid concerns that an eruption could occur at any moment. "After the series of ash puffs and ash explosions of 1,000 metres [high], we cannot rule out a major explosion," Cedric Daep, the head of the disaster relief operations in the eastern Bicol region, said.

Daep said the authorities aimed to evacuate nearly 50,000 people from villages within eight kilometres of the volcano by Thursday. Volcanologists raised the alert level on the 2,460-metre high volcano to two levels below eruption on Monday after lava was seen dripping from the crater. However, the national volcanology institute also said Mayon could yet calm down and might not necessarily erupt.

Frequent eruptions

Officials said it is unlikely that villagers would be able to return home before Christmas, the biggest holiday of the year in the mainly Catholic country. "It's 10 days before Christmas. Most likely people will be in evacuation centres, and if Mayon's activity won't ease down we will not allow them to return to their homes,'' Nunez said. Mayon is the most active of 22 volcanoes in the Philippines, having erupted more than 50 times in the last four centuries. Residents in Albay province are used to moving away from Mayon, which spewed ash last month and prompted some villages to flee. The last time the volcano erupted was in 2006. Mayon's most destructive eruption came in 1841 when lava flows buried the town of Cagsawa and killed more than 1,200 people. The country lies on the volatile "Ring of Fire", a belt of volcanoes circling the Pacific Ocean that is also prone to earthquakes. Source: Al-Jazeera News 15/12/09

My Comments: It was yet another epic of a minor 2012 happening this time in Philippines. The Volcano had become active and anytime ready to abrupt. Perhaps, the GOD wants to punish mankind on earth for massive destruction as shown on the movie 2012. Well, what we hope that everything will be back to normal and we are able to cope with the disaster surrounding us. To those who are staying near to the volcano, do listen to the authorities there and evacuate immedietely to prevent something bad happening. Life Must Go On......

News: Supervisor killed in gas explosion

MALACCA: The much-anticipated opening of the largest AEON Jusco outlet in the country in Jalan Legenda, Bachang, here is likely to be postponed following a gas explosion that killed a 25-year-old supervisor and injured 16 others. The explosion is believed to have occurred at the food court section on the ground floor of the three-storey complex just before 1pm yesterday when workers and tenants were busy making final preparations for Thursday’s grand opening.

The force of the blast blew a 2m-wide hole in the building’s wall, showering glass and debris over a 25m radius and causing a small fire. Firemen from the Kubu station, who arrived six minutes after receiving a distress call, found two injured victims lying outside the building. Intensive damage: The glass and ceiling panels of this restaurant were completely shattered by the explosion. Tiau See Peing, a supervisor from Batu Pahat at the Old Town White Coffee, was found dead with a neck wound caused by flying debris. Other victims were pulled out alive from the rubble. State fire department operations deputy director R. Ezhumalai said the blast is believed to have been caused by a gas leak when workers were testing gas meters from the centralised liquid petroleum gas system.

“Several survivors mentioned there was a smell of gas shortly before the blast,” he said at the scene, adding that the injuries and damage came mostly from the blast and flying debris.
“We are still investigating to determine the exact location of the blast and what may have caused it.” At press time, seven victims were reported to have suffered serious injuries while three are in critical condition. They have been warded at the Malacca Hospital.
Six other victims received outpatient treatment. Meanwhile, state Human Resources Committee chairman Datuk Yaakub Md Amin said the Department of Occupational Safety and Health had been directed to investigate the blast, adding that investigations would focus on whether the contractors had followed safety measures. My Comments: Well, we have been hearing accidents happening again and this time a different news which is the mall explosion. What have the authorities done is causing this big mistake? Although only 1 lives claimed staked this time and 16 others injured, the authorities must made responsible for this incident and please sentence them to death after failing to ensure their workers safety in their workplace. There is no excuses otherwise many lives will be claimed in future. A sad news but Life Must Go On......

Lifestyle: Finally got my Pasport!

Finally I've got my first ever passport in my life after 28 years. No joke, I never owned a passport before this and finally today 11th December 2009 is a historical day for me perhaps. Haha! Funny isn't it? Today I step in the Immigration Department at 8.45am located at Jelapang in Ipoh. Then it took me about 3 hours to complete the whole process with something funny happening too while applying for the passport.

Let me just share some with you all. I have to wait for about 1 hour before it's my turn and after I step into the counter, the immigration officer asked about my photo. He asked me how long already is this photo? (It seems I don't look like the same with my photo). Well, I told him recently only and he laugh at it. Duhhh! Doesn't it looks the same Mr. Officer! Still, it managed to go through and being processed. After that, I head towards the cafeteria for a short breakfast break before heading back to the Immigration Office to collect my passport an hour after. Then, when I reach the collection counter, I handed the resit to the guy and he told me "Nak buat collection sekarang ke?" "Sekarang Pukul Berapa?". He laughed out loud and ask me to wait. In my surprise, in less than 5 minutes, the counter already call me and my passport is ready for collection. I thanked him for his excellent service and he smiled.

So, I have got my passport already and I am ready to FLY! For those, who haven't get their passport and ready to fly, get yours now at your nearest Immigration Offices now! Happy Holidays! :)

Best Of TVB Drama: A Chip Off The Old Block (巴不得爸爸)

Title: A chip off the Old Block 巴不得爸爸

Episodes: 20

Producer: 监製:潘嘉德

Scriptwriter: 编审:陈金铃

While the saying “Like father, like son” holds true for most fathers and sons, it does not for CHOR FAN (Sunny Chan) and CHOR TSZ (Ron Ng). There is a world of difference between their personalities, manners of dealing with people and even goals in life. FAN is an out-and-out 60’s person, whereas TSZ believes he is well ahead of the 21st century. A thought-provoking time travel modern comedy, A Chip Off the Old Block reminds audience of the Chinese saying “Man is not born to greatness, he achieves it by his own efforts.” TSZ is accidentally sent back from the 21st century to the 1960s. He befriends his father, who is a young man then. FAN puts TSZ up in his place, where TSZ comes to know the stingy KO SHAN CHEUN (John Chiang), who runs a noodle stall, the shrewish landlady TAM LAN CHING (Gigi Wong), the argumentative CHING LAN FUN (Shirley Yeung), who later becomes his sweetheart, and LEUNG PIN PIN (Nancy Wu), who comes from a rich family. TSZ is always abusing and offending people. Other tenants, especially corrupt sergeant NGAU CHING WING (Yuen Siu Cheung), hate him very much. Except for FAN, who always defends him and even later introduces him a job at a department store. In the 60’s now, TSZ however is as flamboyant as when he is in the 21st century. He finds FAN being too old-fashioned and kind-hearted. He almost makes other tenants homeless once, and he tries to destroy FAN and SO FUNG NI’s (Myolie Wu) relationship. Later when he realizes his wrong doings, he is shocked to know that.. RATING: 5/5

RATING: 5/5

Leisure: Looking Forward To Trip To Bali, Indonesia

Hi All,

Welcome back folks. I am back again for my blogging time after a week being so quiet on board. Well, this time I am pleased that I am going for a trip in merely 3 months from now to Bali. My trip will be from 09 March - 12 March 2010. In fact, I would be extremely happy to be in Bali because this is my first time going overseas (outside Malaysia) after 28 years old. I've also heard feedback from many people saying that Bali is a very nice place to visit based on the beautiful beaches and its nature beauties. Besides, Bali also famous for its temples which mostly stand near the sea. Amazing isn't it?

I would like to thank AirAsia for providing this promotion and after some comments given from my close friends, they said the price is pretty reasonable and worht for a visit. Even a 4 Days 3 Nights trip would be a tight one but I believe it would be also an enjoyable trip because I have planned which place that I wanted to visit and I strongly believe that I have enough time for it. After a week of frustration for me this week because a lot of obstacles need to overcome before me & Kimmy finally agreed on this trip (e.g. financial, time consumption etc). So, without talking so much, I am really looking forward to this trip and guess what before going, I need to prepare myself a passport (paiseh lah, because I never owned a passport before after 28 years old).

Don't forget to catch my blog from time to time as I will update my blog most probably after coming back from this trip because I will not bring my laptop over there. For those who went to Bali before, I would really hope that you could give your suggestions to me based on the trip and feedback to me via e-mail, telephone or my facebook too. Thanks so much and if you guys are going for a trip too, enjoy yourselves yeah! Adios! :)

Food Hunt: Nippon Yataimura, 1 Utama

Welcome back folks,

We are back again for yet another food hunt action and this time, me & Kimmy had decided to give it a try at Nippon Yataimura located at the New Wing of 1 Utama. It was a nicely decorated restaurant will totally Japanese "Feel" and a lot of couples would surely enjoy it based on the environment as shown on the pictures. We had our dinner here after watching movie.

After we sat down, we have waited for 5 minutes before the waitress could serve us and brought us the menu. The service there was very poor indeed and I am not satisfy with their service. Even, I have ordered green tea and yet it took about 15 minutes before coming to us. It was a totally poor service there and after I've ordered the green tea I've asked for a cold green tea to be refilled but they came and refill the hot one for me. So far, I can say their service sucks big time and thumbs down towards their service.

The menu meanwhile were not much choices especially in the rice & sushi menu. This restaurant serves more varieties and concentrate into japanese style mee like udon etc. According to Kimmy, he told alexleow-kimmy.com that their mee sucks big time and with that, I never ordered mee and ordered rice instead. I've ordered Chicken Teriyaki Bento with Green Tea meanwhile Kimmy ordered Unadon with Green Tea (see pictures).

Let's go straight to the comments. The Chicken Teriyaki Bento (rice) sucks big time. Wow! I never critic such a bad impression before but it really dissapoints me. The chicken was tasteless and only I can taste the roasted chicken skin only and I was like eating a raw chicken. In fact, not only that, the rice also sucks big time. It was very oily and too much garlic which makes the taste feel 'yuck' (you know what I mean). Very bad meal for this one. For the green tea, it was just normal and nothing special. It seems the hot green tea is better than the cold one because the cold one is a bit bitter compared to the hot green tea. For Kimmy, she ordered the Unadon (fish rice) and the taste according to her is not so good. The fish is pretty sweet and fresh too but the rice was very sticky and not up to the standard. She also commented that the display on the menu shows that the bowl of rice should come with a large egg but it came otherwise.

Overall, my dish was very dissapointed and please do not order the Chicken Teriyaki Bento when you are here. It sucks big time. For the Unadon, it was still acceptable but the rice is still pretty sticky for this one and not much ketchup / sauce being poured into the rice and this makes the rice pretty normal and plain. The price meanwhile was pretty OK but it's really not value for money. The portion is very small and it's really not worth paying that much amount of money. The Unadon & Chicken Teriyaki Bento was priced RM17.00 each and green tea is RM1.00 each and including tax is about RM41.00. I read through some of the blog previously and some say the restaurant is very nice, but seriously I don't see any nice food there including the mee and the rice. So, will you still go and try? Think about it! Good Luck! :) MY FOOD & DRINKS RATING: 2/5 ; KIMMY FOOD & DRINKS RATING: 2.5 / 5

*Rating is based on the food that we ordered and not overall food.
