Food Hunt: Restoran Hao Jie Seafood Steamboat, Kepong (好记(吉瞻)海鲜火锅)

Hello Folks,

Happy Weekend to all of you again. Today is Sunday as ME & Kimmy had decided to go for yet another food hunt here and we have decided to go somewhere which is nearer to Kepong. Firstly, we taught of visiting Happy City Steamboat but it was super packed and we've decided to try a new steamboat restaurant located just opposite Jusco Kepong and this restaurant is a steamboat restaurant. After finding it quite difficult to find parking, we reach the restaurant at about 7.45pm and the crowd is starting to build up at the restaurant. To my observation, there's a lot of tables at the restaurant considering the restaurant is situated at corner lot.

Once we sat down, we were immediately served with the menu. We browse through the menu and then we have decided to order a set of steamboat for 2 pax (RM14.50 per pax). If you do not want set, you can also opt for ala-carte as well and the price ranging from RM3-RM20. Sorry for those tom yam fans especially weekends where they do not serve Tom Yam Soup during weekends and they only served 'Ching Tong' soup only. They only served Tom Yam Soup during weekdays.

It does not took very long for our ingredients to come and it was a super fast service too. Thumbs up on their service although the restaurant has a lot of people. We've ordered 2 pax of Chinese Tea Pot (RM1.00 per pax) 'Tie Kuan Yin'. The ingredients served are slightly lesser than the ones served at Happy City and TaiTao Steamboat but one thing I like about it is that the seafood and the ingredients are really fresh. The fish balls and tauhu is very fresh and it's a must to eat too. The 'Ching Tong' soup is the main reason to also determine it's nice or not. And to my taste, it was absolutely nice and I love the soup very much. Besides it had less MSG and it does not make you feel thirsty as well.

Overall, it was a very satisfying meal and the price we pay is RM31.00 for 2 pax plus a 2 pax drinks. It was very reasonable and hardly you can get this price (RM14.50) for a seafood steamboat. I would recommend you to come over and try out the seafood steamboat over here. Based on others feedback, their ala-carte beef and crab roe is also a must try as it's tasty as well. Besides having a restaurant in Kepong, this restaurant also opens at Bandar Puteri in Puchong as well. Enjoy! MY RATING: 5/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 4/5

* Food & Drinks Rating are based on the food & drinks we've ordered and not overall food & drinks.
