Food Hunt: Restoran Sekinchan Ikan Bakar, M Avenue, Segambut

Dear All,

Welcome back to yet another edition of the food hunt and it's a lovely weekend we've been into and today is Saturday night as ME & Kimmy had planned yet another food hunt and this time we've decided to try Malay Food instead and we have located this restaurant located at Sri Sinar. Yes, introducing the Restoran Sekinchan Ikan Bakar. We reached the restaurant at about 7.45pm and the restaurant were not crowded as only a few tables occupied. We taught something is wrong and however we still insists to eat over there. There waiter and waitress are very friendly and they served us with a beautiful smile.

We looked at the menu and ordered drinks first. I've ordered Teh O Ais Limau (RM1.80) while Kimmy ordered Laici Ais (RM2.00). Then here's the point. We have to go to the counter inside the restaurant to choose the dish we wanted to eat. Me & Kimmy had visited the counter and then to decided what we wanted to order. There's a lot of variety of fishes displayed as well as vegetables and it's up to you to decide on how you want it to be cooked. Both of us had selected the Ikan Pari (Stingray) (RM7 per 100gm) (RM17.40) to be cooked hot and spicy. Then we ordered another dishes which is the Tom Yam Soup (RM14.80) where the tom yam contains mixed vegetables, small squid and several prawns. That's for our menu for dinner and it's for 2 persons portion. Oh Yea! The white rice is also chargeable (RM1.50 per bowl). It does not take very long for the food to arrive as we have waited for 10 minutes for the food to arrive as maybe the amount of people in the restaurant.

The Ikan Pari cooked with hot and spicy is indeed nice. The aroma taste of the spiciness just suits our taste and it makes our meal more interesting and delicious. It was lovely and nice. The portion of the Ikan Pari is average and just nice for 2 people. The Tom Yam Soup meanwhile was just so-so and not so nice. But it's still considered normal as for the Malays who cooked Tom Yam where almost everyone had the same style of cooking. As for the drinks, my Teh O Ais Limau was just nice while the Lychee Ais is just normal. Nothing much to shout about.

The price we pay is RM39.00 with no government or service tax. The price is slightly expensive compared if you eat outside and this has been agreed by many of the bloggers where the price is quite expensive as stated on their blog. Just for 2 dishes with normal stingray and tom yam soup, I think it's overpriced and not worth it. I can get even cheaper in the Chinese restaurants. The food is good but the price is too expensive and I can only afford to go once in a while perhaps once in a blue moon. A great place to eat out and dine in if you don't mind the price or once in while. I would recommend you to come over to try out the food over here especially the Ikan Bakar which is delicious where it specialize on its sauce and spiciness too. There are several branches that you can visit including USJ, Bandar Puteri, Johor Bahru, Shah Alam and many more. Kindly check out the other locations on the internet http://sekinchanikanbakar.com/. Enjoy! MY RATING: 4/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 4/5
