Travel: Port Dickson Trip Day 1

Dear All,

Welcome back to yet another special edition of Travel where ME & Kimmy had spend throughout our weekend to one of Malaysia's favourite destination. Although it's a short trip but overall we do enjoy it very much as well. We have selected Port Dickson at Negeri Sembilan as our destination this time and that's not all, sit tight as I will be introducing to you the places of interest at Port Dickson and also the accommodation we stay and also great food at Port Dickson.

We kicked this off on a beautiful Saturday morning with our lovely Roti Canai for breakfast. We then proceed to start our journey at about 9.30am and we reached Port Dickson at about 11.00am and our first destination of the day goes to the Army Museum or Muzium Tentera Darat. This place is located 7km from Port Dickson town on the district of Sirusa. A property of the Malaysian Royal Armed Forces, the museum traces its exploits and achievements through history, trumped up with dramatised aspects and romantic story-telling. In addition to the museum buildings, the spacious grounds also house decommissioned military vehicles, including planes, tanks and artillery guns, and a memorial fountain dedicated to soldiers who served through Malaysia's war history. Open daily from 9.00am till 6.00pm, entry is free for all visitors. The main attraction in the museum is actually the tunnel built by the communist in the 1880's and it's still here until now. Visitors get their chance to go into the tunnel and then exited at their other end of the building. If you love to visit museum, this place is very suitable for you and you will simply love it. Besides, this is a good place of attraction to visit as well for everyone including the kids. ARMY MUSEUM RATING: 5/5

Then we proceed to our lunch and we had KFC for our lunch. After that, we proceed to visit another place of attraction which is the PD Ostrich Showfarm. The PD Ostrich Farm is located at 9th mile along the Port Dickson beach road; watch out for a signboard at left while going south from town. Besides ostriches, visitors can see peacocks, peasants, jungle fowls, monkeys and a strangely large number of farm animals. The ostriches are housed in open paddocks shaded by large trees; they can be feed with pellets bought from the entrance. For a fee, adults and children can even ride ostriches around a small circuit at the back for the farm. A restaurant on the premises serves cuisine made from ostrich meat, including satay. Open daily from 9.00am till 5.30pm, tickets are priced at MYR10 per adult and MYR5 per child. I would also recommend you to come over this place if you are a pet lover as you can see different kinds of animals and the best thing is you can feed them too. PD OSTRICH FARM RATING: 3/5.

Then we proceed to our hotel. We stayed at Grand Lexis in Port Dickson and I will introduce this hotel more in my another post. At around 7.00pm, we are crafting for our dinner and we have visited a beautiful restaurant located along the seaside. Introducing the Chardin Seaview Restaurant. This restaurant can actually accommodate about 50 tables and the view is breathtaking as well as you enjoy your seafood. You can eventually breathe the fresh air from the sea while taking your food and it's natural air. We reached there around 7.30pm and the crowd was just so-so considering it's not a public holiday nor school holidays. We've ordered Belacan Kangkung (RM12.00), Fried Squids (RM15.00) and for fish, we've ordered the Assam Red Snapper Fish (0.8kg X RM58.00 per kg) equals to RM46.40. It does not take very long for the food to arrive and we only waited for about 10 minutes. The Belacan Kangkung was just so-so and not so nice while the Fried Squid also the same with just so-so taste. It's not crunchy though. But for the Assam Red Snapper Fish, it's very fresh and tasty too especially the Assam flavour. This is one of the best dish that you should order over here. The price is around RM85.70 for 2 persons considering the portion is big and frankly the price is reasonable too. I would also recommend you to this restaurant to give it a try as well. CHARDIN SEAVIEW RESTAURANT RATING: 4/5. (Halal)
