Food Hunt: Sopoong Korean Restaurant, Berjaya Times Square

Welcome back to yet another edition of Food Hunt and today is a week before Christmas. Me & Kimmy had visited Berjaya Times Square to shop till we drop but ended up we did not buy anything. Well, it's still worth as we could still enjoy the warmth of Christmas cheer and mood while walking on the mall. Once it reaches dinner time, ME & Kimmy had eventually looked for a restaurant to dine in and we've come into this Korean Restaurant to dine in.

We have chosen Sopoong Korean Restaurant and apparently when we reach the restaurant at about 7.00pm, the crowd had started to build up and there's still places for us to sit and we do not have to wait long. Upon as we sat down, we were immediately served with the menu and we browse through the menu, knowing that our stomach is still full after eating the potatoes earlier on so we've decided to try on the Ramen instead. Both of us browse through the menu and find lots of food to eat but too bad we're quite full. I've ordered Kimchi Ramyun (RM11.90) and a Cold Green Tea (RM3.00) while Kimmy ordered Yachae (Vegetable) Ramen (RM11.90) and a Hot Green Tea (RM2.00).

It does not take very long for the food to be served and let's go straight to the comments. As you know, Ramen is some sort like a maggi mee but it's in Korean Style where the portion is huge and big too. The Kimchi Ramen is nice considering the spicy taste as well. The soup was just nice and it's not over cooked too with the water level just nice as well. Thumbs up on this dish as well. Meanwhile for Kimmy's Yachae Ramen, the taste was just so-so and not as nice as the Kimchi Ramen. Although the water level and it's not over cooked as well but the taste isn't that impressive. It's not spicy and it's quite plain taste as well. Before that, when you order the Kinchi or Yachae Ramen, you will also be served a mini plate of kimchi, dried ikan bilis and salad as well The green tea looks normal and there's nothing special about it.

The price meanwhile is quite expensive considering we are only eating the ramen and some small portion of kimchi, dried ikan bilis and salad. I would expect the price to be slightly cheaper than RM1 or RM2. I would still recommend you to come over here to try out the food besides the ramen as they served lots of Korean food as well. Rarely you can eat Korean Food in Malaysia expect those famous like Daorae which cannot be found in a lot of places in Malaysia. Furthermore, this restaurant is owned by a purely Korean nationality too. This can be considered a budget Korean Food Restaurant and do remember to try out their set as well as it's quite worth it too but as I said again too bad both of us are full the other day. Enjoy! MY RATING: 4/5 ; KIMMY RATING: 3/5
