Food Hunt: Thean Chun (天津茶室), Ipoh

Dear All,

Welcome back to yet another edition of Food Hunt back to our Ipoh town. Today ME & my family had decided to go Thean Chun (天津茶室) located at Ipoh Old Town and I would guarantee that not many people especially those are not local knows about this place. This restaurant is situated quite near to the famous Sun Yuan Loong and Nam Heong. Perhaps you may key in your GPS to locate this place.

This place is just like a hidden gem where not much people knows about it and the Sar Hor Fun here is very good indeed. In my opinion, it's better than the ones in Lou Wong or Onn Kee. The Sar Hor Fun mee was very smooth, tender and juicy as well. I did not try out the chicken but when I see on the chicken on displayed at the stall, it seems nice and juicy as it was fresh too. You may try it one day. The soup was super great as it was so sweet and nice to consume. This is one of the best hidden gem in Ipoh that you must try. We've also ordered the Bean Sprout and the taste was also good and the bean sprout was large size too. The price meanwhile was cheap indeed. The price of per bowl is roughly RM3.50 - RM3.80 and it was so reasonable. Besides selling the Sar Hor Fun, this restaurant also serves the best of Satay. The gravy and the chicken and beef satay was great and super nice. I can tell you that I really enjoyed it very very much and it was mouth watering as well. By judging at the pictures, you'll simply love it. You can order 10-30 sticks in one shot but the seller only count on how many sticks you took and this reduces the risk of unable to finish if your stomach is full. Nice and reasonable isn't it. It sells at RM0.50 per sticks.

It's a great place to go and also please bear in mind that this restaurant does not have a restaurant plate displayed outside so perhaps if you're new to this place, you might have a tough time locating it. Just search through your GPS or ask the local people nearby and they will be able to show you the place. Overall, it's a cheap and reasonable to have such a nice food in Ipoh city again! Enjoy! MY RATING: 5/5

It seems like you are giving rating 5/5 for all the Ipoh foods. hehehe....Good! However, I find that Malacca pork satay still the best. Trust me. Better than Ipoh.
